Litty Observes Kuufa’s Battle Strategy
Successors of the Great Magician, Aegir Egg… If one word were to be used to describe them, it would be mercenary troop.
Led by their master, Oswen, they were people with high magical powers who intervened in wars in many places.
They have been described as decisive weapons on the battlefield, but their threat was not limited to warfare.
Assassination, espionage, intrigue… They succeeded in a wide range of fields, and have attracted the attention of many countries with political instability and diplomatic problems.
However, because of this, they could also be considered a problem, and were often on the agendas of some nations and interstate meetings.
“We are in a position to make or break a country. That’s how much influence high magic has.”
Kuufa remained staring at Napt, biting her lower lip. She was holding back her anger, or rather, her magic power.
If she was distracted, she could go berserk again.
“Oh, and that girl beside you, by any chance, were you close to her as well? That’s a bad thing for you. So fix it.”
“No, thank you.”
“Don’t be shy.”
“Stay away from us.”
Napt was annoyed by Kuufa’s refusal. The silent girl moved closer to Kuufa, and Kuufa felt the warmth of her body as she held her close.
Kuufa was determined to protect the girl. She wanted to be strong enough to make her feel safe. She promised to never let her be alone and to never let her feel lonely.
“I wanted to give you… a name…. I still haven’t decided yet.”
“Master, aren’t you angry?”
Kuufa’s magic power, which had been stinging and threatening to pierce the surroundings at any moment, calmed down.
But it did not cease. It was still there, but it had a different effect because Kuufa now found a purpose.
She not only wanted to protect the girl, but also to protect others beside her.
Kuufa decided to challenge Napt using the power of Maamu, the girl whom Napt had disrespected.
With the girl back at Aquaria’s side, Kuufa turned her attention back to Napt.
“A magic battle… is not just about how much magic power one has, but also control over it. Moreover, when you are in a friendly duel, you can’t just hit your opponent with everything…. you have to make sure that your opponent is not injured…”
Napt replied with a sigh, but Kuufa continued speaking, “If you really are a great magician… Maamu-san would not have been hurt. After all, something like this wouldn’t have happened if you were any good at controlling magic.”
“Hmmm, so you’re saying I’m immature?”
“Unless you did it on purpose… yes.”
Litty was the most surprised by the series of exchanges. She compared it to the time when Kuufa relied on the devil to do the talking while she was frightened and took the path of loneliness.
Litty believed that Kuufa improved with everyone’s help as she made more friends.
“Please fight me in a Magic Battle. If I win, I want you to heal Maamu-san and apologize to her.”
“Alright, then if I win, you’ll come with me. You are not someone who should be left to rot in a place like this.”
An agreement on the Magic Battle was reached, and they decided to change places. Kuufa accepted Napt’s suggestion knowing that if they got serious, the guild building could collapse.
The situation was no longer in the hands of the instructors. Even the branch manager was troubled as he could no longer intervene.

A Magic Battle was to be held outside the royal capital. The head of the branch was in attendance, and the spectators kept their distance.
Napt snorted at the spectators who were watching from afar, making fun of them.
“Hmph… If it’s my meteor magic, it will be dangerous even at that distance.”
“So are you going to give the first move to Kuufa?” (Branch Manager)
“Of course. Ah, you’re the branch manager, right? You’re in danger as well, so you’d better move a little further away.”
Napt, shooing the branch manager away, waited for Kuufa to make the first move.
This time, Kuufa would not use the power of Aquaria. She wanted to let Aquaria judge how much she had grown.
She wanted to become a master worthy of her. Her goal regarding that remained.
