NOVPUBLeo and Lily sat in the back of the car, Zeenat and Kyle were in the front, and suddenly recalling something, Leo picked up his phone that was connected to the infotainment console of the vehicle and played a feel good song.
The effect might not be visible, but he was trying to hack into Lily's mindset by this. Music can cause the brain to release dopamine that makes people feel relaxed and happy.
It may sound like a cheap move, but Leo would do anything and everything for the people he loved. Lily may have sensed that he was on the verge of turning cold and consumed by his hunger for revenge. This was probably why she was deeply affected by the nightmare.
As the car drove around, Leo said, "Lily, do you know that the new candies from your candy factories are ready to be sold in the markets?"
Lily raised her head slightly and then shook her head. The young man caressed her cheek and asked, "Do you know if we manage to sell them high, we will be helping out many children like you wanted to?"
Lily shook her head and asked softly, "What are the new candies?"
The young man smiled and said, "I will tell you only if you give me a smile."
Lily asked, "What should I do if I don't feel like smiling?"
Leo pretended to think but his heart was already aching when he saw that his beloved daughter didn't wish to smile, and he said, "Well, then I guess, Baba would be worried, but you don't have to force yourself. How about we both try and find your smile back?"
Lily thought for a moment and nodded. The young man smiled and pecked her forehead as he watched the situation. After a few minutes, they reached the office building, and carrying Lily in his arms, Leo headed straight to the cafeteria in the building because it was lunchtime and the kitchen they had set up must be working.
When the staff saw Leo coming over, they all were stunned and stood up to greet him. Leo waved his hand and said, "Take a seat. You all don't have to worry about me. Carry on."
The people sat down, and Leo found a seat for Lily and after she settled down, the young man asked, "Baby, what do you want to eat?"
Lily shrugged as she looked lost, Leo took a deep breath and asked, "How about your favorite noodles?"
The little girl nodded and then Leo said, "You wait here, I will be back soon."
He took off his coat and folded the cuffs of his shirt and went towards the kitchen. The chefs were surprised, and Leo said, "I apologize for barging into your kitchen, but I wish to cook something for my daughter."
The head chef was a lady. She smiled and said, "Please come in, Sir. This is your kitchen as well."
Leo ran a gaze on the left side of her chef coat and found a label that said, "Marina." 𝚗o𝚟pub.𝚌𝚘𝚖
He thanked her, and Marina offered, "I'll be your sous chef."
Leo didn't mind and nodded, as he and Marina began to pick out ingredients quickly. The latter earlier thought that Leo was probably just a father who was trying to pamper his spoiled child but when she saw the way Leo handled the ingredients, she was surprised.
The people in the kitchen were all shocked and they quickly began to record the video of the cooking process. Even if it was not too showy, it was still textbook methods of cooking and they were completed very efficiently.
After fifteen minutes, Leo finished cooking the dish and then he served it in a big bowl and headed outside, only to find that his little girl was talking to a few young ladies from the marketing department.
They all knew Lily and were calling her, 'Young Miss.'
Leo grew curious as to what they were talking about, and he heard, "Young Miss, see, is my nail paint nice?"
Lily looked at the lady's nails and her eyes sparkled as she asked, "How are their flowers in your nails, Sister Amy?"
Amy chuckled and said, "Hehe, this is called nail art. Do you want one?"
Lily nodded as a chicken pecking grains and Amy began to tell her how they do it and all. However, another girl said, "Well, it would have been possible for Young Miss to get the nail art had she been older. If she applies it now, the quality of her nails will degrade. After all, she is just four years old."
The girls nodded, and Lily asked, "Is there really no way for me to get this art on my nails?"
Amy saw that Lily was getting sadder, and she said, "I have a way."
Lily looked at her expectantly, and the lady took out her phone, before she asked Lily to hand over her hand. They both held hands, and the lady scanned her tiny fair hands and scanned them with the camera.
Amy sighed and said, "I wish I could have stayed a child too, Young Miss."
The people were confused as well and the lady said, "You have no idea how we all crave for a softer skin."
Lily shook her head and replied, "Humans are stupid creatures. When they are young, they want to grow up, but when they get old they want to become children again."
Her words stunned the girls and they all chuckled after a bit. They found the brainy Lily quite adorable. Then Amy said, "Young Miss, although you might not get any nail paint, this app allows you to scan your hands and apply the nail art of various styles on the pictures of your hands."
Lily looked over and after a few minutes, her eyes were sparkling. She said, "I will ask Baba to get me this app as well."
Then she came to her seat and found Leo holding his phone and extending it to her with a smile on his face. Lily blushed before she came over and hopped in his embrace and said, "Baba, I love you."
