Liu Shu danced, her spiritual power forming a mist around her.

The mist was a result of the Nimbus Eclipse. The white weapon drifted, but it contained incredible raw power belying its graceful appearance.

Unlike how it looked to the average cultivator, the mist might be incredibly fierce, but it followed orders. What made it worse was that the formless mass had several instinctual traps. One example was when meeting with hardness, it would become a vortex a Divine Sandstorm that wore down the opposition. In case of a user using a softer approach, borrowing power, it would slow down and turn into a thunderstorm.

However, this kind of hard precise attack was something Liu Shu hardly unleashed, mainly used as a stormfront for defense.

The enemy was too high in numbers.

Seven Hu Jianghao stood in front.

“Just what is he using? Heavenly Light Transmutation or Solar Flare?” Liu Shu frowned hard. The skill was weird as heck, not fitting the description of the Arts Archive’s two cultivation methods at all.

Hu clan specialized in optics, and using mirror images or mirage arts was common. Those weren’t an issue to Liu Shu, it was these images that could actually pack a punch that were getting to her.

Though not as ridiculous as Elusive Palace’s magical arts of true embodiments.

Hu Jianghao sneered.

Light is waves. This was Hu’s ancestor’s most prideful discovery, the same one who got his reputation crushed by Transcendent.

The Hu ancestor improved Solar Flare as well. Of course, the clan would have its ‘internal version.’ With this feature in Hu clan’s Solar Flare, Hu Jianghao made use of light being waves property to spread the waves everywhere and create an image.

As for why it could attack—[Ha-ha, I learned Heavenly Light Transmutation! Ancestor might promote light waves, but the Supreme Lord had Wave-particle Duality. Why should I just abandon Heavenly Light Transmutation?]

[Those realistic me are made of my light spiritual power that I control through Heavenly Light Transmutation to turn them solid and empty at will!]

[Even Ai Changyuan will be hard-pressed against it!]

Hu Jianghao’s confidence soared. Real and fake images surrounded Liu Shu, with the light in their hands shaping into blades, spears, halberds axes, hooks, claws, hammers, and whips. Each image wielding one type.

“Oh noes, wan!” Wang Zhenqi cried out. “Senior Sister Liu is gonna lose!”

Wu Shiqin shook her head. “More like winning.”

Her battle experience and talent were far above the average cultivator, giving her a much more precise judgment when it came to fights.

Hu Jianghao had really strong skills, sure, but posed a heavy strain on his spiritual power. With seven images, he would soon be spent. It all came down to Liu Shu if she could hold her own with the mist until then.

Ai Changyuan sighed. “It’s over.”

The Hu Jianghao with a blade rushed and cut at Liu Shu’s vortex, the blade falling down like a brilliant sunset, inevitable.

The light energy blade sank into the cyclone, light spreading in every direction, while this Hu Jianghao didn’t so much as twitch.

A fake!

Liu Shu winced. [His tactic isn’t to lure me into showing an opening but to fight me head to head?]

The girl’s pride flared.

[Fine then!]

Liu Shu no longer held back, using all her energy in the mist. Her signs changed as she shouted, “Rise!”

The mist exploded in size!

It was now that the second Hu Jianghao attacked with a spear. The spear twisted like a river, going for the wind wall.

A rumble was heard and part of Liu Shu’s defensive wind was gone.

The spear’s timing was beyond perfect, earning awe.

Hu’s ancestor was beneath Transcendent, but still good with math. It was easy for Hu Jianghao to calculate Liu Shu’s spiritual power’s movement around her and counter it.

Not giving Liu Shu the chance to react, the hammer-wielding Hu Jianghao leaped and slammed his weapon. The light hammer fell like a golden crow. The mist’s hard feature was activated, showing signs of collapse. Liu Shu shuddered as she was wounded.

The two figures showed no reaction to the mist, making it obvious they were images.

The axe, hook, whip, and claw-wielding images moved in succession, making Liu Shu suffer six blows.

“None of them were the real him…” Liu Shu stared at the last one, wielding a halberd, with gnashed teeth.

She just had to take this last attack and she’d win.

Liu Shu watched as Hu Jianghao attacked one last time. He took three steps, leaving a graceful trail as he moved, including light concepts in his attack.

Liu Shu lowered her body, bracing for the hardest attack.

The light halberd clashed with the mist, it bent, but held.

Now!

Liu Shu pointed and had the side mist lash out.

But as the mist defense relaxed, the spear stuck in it was let loose. The Hu Jianghao with the halberd broke down just like the other Hu Jianghaos.

The one wielding the spear smirked.

[Fool! I can make images of myself, one that suffers no damage!]

The spear shot for Liu Shu’s chest and the stage’s array flared, judging Liu Shu the loser.

Langde Immortal Institute’s side cheered.

“Another win!”

“Ah-ha-ha! Langge is the best!”

“Let’s beat them some more, guys, and send these Argent Apex losers to their mommies!”

The Argent Apex disciples grimaced.

It was the third day of the martial examination. Langde disciples didn’t fight sea demons for nothing, showcasing their dominance in the fights by winning seven out of ten bouts. Even in the case when both sides’ geniuses fought, Langde proved prophetic in declaring their win.

Of his four fights, Long Shulin had three losses. Liu Shu had three wins and three losses. Even the highly warmongering Wu Shiqin earned a strike due to her cultivation method. 𝓷ℴ𝓋𝓅𝓊𝒷.𝒸𝓸𝓶

Everyone on Argent Apex side was waiting on one person.
