Chapter 320: Chapter 318: Pregnancy, a Better Illustration of Fertility Strength
Lin Lang patted his shoulder, “Let’s go, take this dead Hu Chai and come with me to see the Clan Leader.”
Sally sighed inwardly as she watched Zulu leave with Lin Lang, but that was all she could do.
“Zulu is the most famous warrior of the Rabbit Tribe, right? I’ve heard he’s very powerful,” Shava said with admiration in her eyes.
Sally replied, “He’s able to fight against Profound Rank Demon Beasts on his own, which is indeed quite impressive.”
However, the last time she had encountered a Bull-shaped Demon Beast with Ming Linyuan. And it was a Simian Monster that killed Zulu. That happened even later, which is why, after saving Zulu, she still intended to stay here for a bit longer.
She needed to make sure Zulu had truly escaped his deadly fate.
Ashley and Shava helped Sally clean up the messy kitchen left by Hu Chai, and also tidied up the courtyard.
Sally brewed tea, prepared fresh fruit and flavorful dried meat, and the three of them enjoyed their teatime, feeling cheerful.
Aurora brought back a small cart full of delicious food.
Seeing Shava and Ashley there, especially Ashley, Auro’s eyes lit up, “I was just thinking about going to the Witch Clan.” 𝔫𝖔𝔳𝖕𝖚𝔟.𝔠𝔬𝖒
“But isn’t your leg injury still not healed?” Ashley asked with concern.
Auro replied, “It’s all healed, completely healed. It’s my Yanyan, she’s pregnant and wants the Clan’s witch to have a look.”
Ashley immediately widened her eyes in surprise, “Sally is pregnant? Really?”
Her visit with Shava actually had a purpose, which was to get Sally to test her Fertility Strength with the witch. After all, marrying into the Eastern District, having children early would benefit the tribe, making it easier to negotiate cooperation with the Eastern District.
Sally smiled, “Yes, it’s been over a month now, look at my belly.”
Because she was wearing a maternity dress, which was very loose, it wasn’t noticeable.
But if she tightened it a bit, one could see the slight bulge of her lower abdomen, a clear sign of pregnancy.
No level of Fertility Strength could compare to actually being pregnant, which is a more convincing proof of fertility.
“I’ll have grandmother come over tomorrow, there’s no need for you to exert yourself,” Ashley said, thinking that since she and Shava had arrived, Sally had been with them the whole time, and must be tired.
“I’m fine,” Sally smiled. “Being pregnant isn’t being sick, I don’t need to lie down all the time.”
“Grandmother said delicate females should lie down more after getting pregnant. We’ll leave now, you should hurry back and recline. And you—why didn’t you tell us earlier you were pregnant?” Ashley promptly supported Sally, intending to escort her back to her room.
Shava also stepped forward to help, her eyes filled with envy, now that she had a Beast Husband, she should also get pregnant soon, “Congratulations, Sister Sally.”
“Thank you, relax and you will have offspring soon too,” Sally smiled. With above-average Fertility Strength, it was just a matter of time before she would get pregnant.
“Hmm, may your good wishes come true for me, and I hope to conceive soon too,” Shava replied somewhat shyly.
Sally was coaxed and persuaded by the two until they reached her room’s entrance, “Alright, I’m going to lie down, no need to see you out.”
“No need, no need,” Ashley said.
Although Lin Lang had recognized Sally as his sworn sister, Ashley still felt somewhat uneasy. Even blood siblings sometimes crossed ethical boundaries to become husband and wife, let alone sworn siblings.
Now that Sally was pregnant, she felt completely relieved.
…
Auro asked Sally whose ox cart was at the door, noting it was still laden with plenty of fresh fruit and herbs.
Sally recounted what had happened after he had left. She was actually quite relieved that Auro had been out; otherwise, he might have fallen victim to Hu Chai while she slept.
Auro was so frightened by Sally’s words that his face turned pale, and he even regretted that he should have stayed at home instead of going out. “Yanyan, you weren’t harmed by the Hu Chai, were you?”
“No, Brother Lin Lang happened to come by with Zulu from the Rabbit Clan, and together they killed the Hu Chai. They’ve gone to see the Clan Leader now. They should come over later since Zulu’s ox cart is still here. Dad, please prepare some lavish food and drinks.”
“Alright, I’m on it.” Auro immediately got busy with the preparations.
Robby returned with Lin Lang and Zulu.
Sally started a charcoal fire, ready to make roasted meat.
When they arrived, she first said to Lin Lang, “Brother Lin Lang, the deer got away.”
“No worries, let it run. I’ll catch another one for you later,” Lin Lang replied nonchalantly.
Sally said, “Hm, I’ll make roasted duck legs for dinner, marinated in spices for a whole day, they’re definitely flavorful.”
“I love roasted duck legs! I’m in luck today, I’ll go get some firewood for you,” Lin Lang said enthusiastically.
Zulu looked at them and awkwardly raised his hand to scratch the back of his neck, “Um, it’s getting late, I should head back to the tribe. If you need any help, just come to the Rabbit Clan and find me.”
Sally paused in her task, looked up at Zulu, and said, “We’re even now.”
“Compared to the life-saving favor you did for me, killing a Hu Chai is nothing. I still owe you a favor. I’ll take the stuff from the cart and head back,” Zulu said, then turned to leave.
“Wait, wait, wait, Brother Zulu must stay for a meal; otherwise, it would be like looking down on the Millet Family,” Auro said, hastily coming out of the kitchen and pulling Zulu towards the dining table which was already set with a few dishes and fruit, “Robby, come entertain Brother Zulu.”
“Yes, Dad,” Robby said, holding two jars of wine, “Brother Zulu, would you like fruit wine or strong liquor?”
Zulu looked towards Sally.
Sally pretended not to notice and kept tending to her fire.
“Strong liquor,” Zulu told Robby.
Lin Lang brought over a bundle of firewood for Sally, then joined Zulu for a drink and a chat, while Robby bustled back and forth, his handsome face all smiles.
Since the incident with Galian, Robby seldom smiled, but today he was all smiles.
Sally arranged the prepared duck legs over the fire to roast.
When they were about done, she called out, “Robby, come here.”
Robby didn’t come, but Zulu did. “He’s gone to fetch more wine with Lin Lang, he’ll be back soon.”
Sally handed the roasted duck leg to him, “Mm, you try it and see if it’s to your liking.”
Auro placed a large plate of thinly sliced fresh meat on the table, “Yanyan, you come eat some meat too. You can leave the rest of the duck legs, Dad can roast them.”
“I’m not hungry, just a bit sleepy,” Sally replied.
Thinking of her pregnant state, Auro quickly said, “You mustn’t overstrain yourself, go rest now. Dad will save some delicious food for you; you can eat it when you wake up.”
“Okay, thanks, Dad.” Sally went back to her room to rest.
Once she got into her room and shut the door, she lay on the bed, her body feeling utterly drained.
[Xiaomei, what should I do? I just can’t bring myself to harshly send Zulu away. The thought of him being with another female just hurts.]
[Keep him, and just don’t have children.]
