Chapter 397: Chapter 395: Resurgence?
After Little Fengning finished his milk and let out a satisfied burp, he reached out to Sally, wanting to go back to her.
Sally knew he wanted to return to the space to play games with Xiaomei and Little Shiyi.
So she reached out to take him.
Welly looked at her with pitiful, puppy-dog eyes…
Damn it!
She was always a sucker for the gentle approach over a forceful one!
“Give me the child first, and there’s no need for you to kneel. Stand up, and let’s discuss how to raise him.” Since the root of the problem was with him, and particularly with raising a Primordial Demon, it would be easier for him.
Reluctantly, Welly handed Little Fengning over to Sally.
Sally immediately took Little Fengning into the space and let him go play.
“Sit,” Sally said to Welly.
Welly looked around his palace, which seemed to be his place, yet somehow he felt like the guest.
“As for the child being possessed… let’s put it this way, as long as I’m alive, that possibility will absolutely not happen,” Sally swore solemnly.
At that moment, Xiaomei spoke up, “Host, don’t you want Xiaomei to leave you?”
“Leave my ass! You pushed me to have so many children, so I have to protect them until my dying day,” Sally snapped back at Xiaomei.
Then, she continued to Welly, “If you want to raise him, that’s not impossible. There’s a monthly test, which is actually just a day for the kids to get together. However, crossing realms to summon him costs too many points, so you’ll need to bring him yourself. It’s on the last day of every month. If there’s a change in the test schedule, I’ll let you know.”
“Okay! On the last day of every month, I’ll deliver him on time,” Welly nodded obediently.
“…Is it convenient to come to Beast World?”
“I’ve built a cross-realm Teleportation Array at the bottom of Creation Nine Abyss. The teleporting point is at the bottom of the pond in the backyard of your inn, very convenient.”
Was he looking for a secret rendezvous with her? Ooh, how thrilling!
“Alright, that’s settled then. As for the Primordial Demon Bones, how long will it take to produce Devouring Power?”
“It won’t during the juvenile phase. It usually starts in adulthood.”
“How long is the juvenile phase?”
“One hundred thousand years.”
“That settles it!” Sally gave an okay sign. “Your son’s juvenile phase is even longer than my lifespan!”
Welly was dumbfounded, “Is your lifespan really that short?”
“That’s a slap-worthy comment!” Sally’s temple twitched. If the new Divine Clan heard him say that, they would definitely smack him!
Welly looked at her thoughtfully…
Sally didn’t notice his expression and continued, “If, as you say, his juvenile phase is that long, then by the time he grows up, his brothers and sisters will all be mature enough to protect him. There shouldn’t be a problem.”
Seven days later.
Sally left Asura King City.
Qing, the lamplighter, sent her a message, telling her to leave on her own. He would find her after some time and reminded her to practice well and consolidate her realm.
Sally left using the Teleportation Array that Welly had mentioned, wanting to test if it indeed took her directly to the backyard of Wanfang Inn.
When she emerged from the pond dripping wet, she decided never to use that ‘affair’ route again!
The bottom of Creation Nine Abyss was absolute zero!
Little Fengning, having much fun playing with Xiaohao, didn’t stay with Welly. As soon as he left the space, he cried.
So Sally had to take him back with her.
As for Welly’s yearning look, she gritted her teeth and endured it.
It was simply because the child wasn’t happy with him. What could she do? Besides, the Asura Realm was no place for raising children.
When Bai Kaixin went to the backyard storeroom to get some items and saw Sally soaking wet, he quickly asked, “Sister Sally, did you fall into the pond?”
“Yeah, I’m going to change my clothes. Carry on with your work,” Sally replied and teleported back to her room.
Bai Kaixin looked at the pond and muttered to himself, “I should put up a fence around it later.”
…
Zi Qi arranged for the children to nap, then returned to the sleeping chamber to change her clothes.
She noticed a small lump on the bed.
Approaching, she lifted the blanket and saw a little white mouse lying beneath it, sleeping with all four limbs pressed against the brocade mattress, looking utterly content.
Zi Qi smiled affectionately and stroked Sally’s back. It had been some days since she had seen her in her beast form. At first glance, Zi Qi had thought it was Xiaoqi being mischievous and running over here.
Seeing her ears twitch, Zi Qi guessed she was awake and stopped her hand.
“Don’t stop,” mumbled Sally, without opening her eyes.
Zi Qi laughed, “Everything went smoothly?”
“Smoothly. Guess who the Asura King is?” Sally opened one eye to glance at Zi Qi, then closed it again.
“Someone we know?” Zi Qi asked.
Sally gave a vague affirmation.
Zi Qi pinched her little paw, watching her comfortably grunt, and laughed, “Then it can only be Welly.”
“Huh?” Sally seemed surprised, “How did you guess right away?”
“Everyone else has a clear destination and tasks they are doing. Only he, though having a destination, remains in an unclear situation. And with your satisfied look, it’s definitely one of us.”
“What if it’s not?”
“There’s no ‘what if.’ Yanyan, are you pregnant?” Zi Qi gently felt her soft belly.
Sally opened her eyes, “He has Primordial Demon blood.”
“No wonder Little Fengning turned out to be a Primordial Demon.”
“He’s a mix of the Demon Clan and Primordial Demon, with a Demon Core, a human form, and the blood of a Primordial Demon. He’s quite comparable to your Hybrid Beast form.”
“…Why not have another child with him? You might get a demon offspring,” Zi Qi replied.
“Can’t. Xiaomei said that he and I can only conceive naturally; the Pregnancy Elixir won’t work.” Sally rolled over, revealing her pink, delicate belly.
Zi Qi, feeling a surge of warmth, gently cradled her and bent down to kiss her belly, “Yanyan, this is beautiful.”
“Father—” Little Shiqi bounded into the chamber.
Both were startled.
Sally teleported back under the blankets.
Zi Qi looked helplessly at his son, “What is it?”
“Eh? What was Father holding just now?” The little guy’s eyes were quite sharp.
“Nothing,” Zi Qi walked over and picked his son up by the scruff of the neck, “Did you cause trouble again?”
“No, let go of me father; tomorrow is the day of the monthly test. I was about to ask if you need to prepare for the exam.” Little Shiqi poked Zi Qi’s hand with his horn.
Zi Qi had to let him go, “Go and tell your sister and Xiaojin to review well for tomorrow’s monthly test.”
“Alright, I’ll go now.” Little Shiqi hopped away.
Sally emerged from the sleeping chamber in a plain, elegant outfit.
“He just wants to play with his brothers and sisters.”
“Yes. He has been pestering me about taking the test recently.”
“How are things in the Dark Continent? Did they figure out what’s going on with the Phantom Demon Beast?”
“It’s a bit troublesome.”
“Hmm?”
“The Birthing Virus is still alive.”
“Are you sure?” Sally widened her eyes.
“Yes. In the Land of Divine Legacy of the Dark Continent, a group of Phantom Demon Beasts has appeared, not bred by female Beastmen, but by female wild beasts! The third Demon King, Qiar Shar, has collaborated with them, and even placed the Demon Emperor under house arrest.”
“The Demon Emperor under house arrest? How is that possible!”
“Ming Linyuan and I were planning to seek external aid to provoke the Demon Emperor against Qiar Shar over the kidnapping of Shiyi, expecting to either kill him or strip him of his Demon King title. But he preemptively confined the Demon Emperor. Now, almost all authority in the Dark Continent is in his hands.”
