Chapter 751: Chapter 749: The Nameless Tombstone
Chapter 751: Chapter 749: The Nameless Tombstone
The Ruins are fragments of the Rules, but the light pathway laid down by Yan Ze is also a Rule in itself, albeit one different from those of the Beast World.
To be precise, it wasn’t that the data of the light pathways merged into the Ruins. Rather, the Ruins merged into the data pathways, utilizing their vitality to gain consciousness.
As for Xiaomei not being explicitly aware, the data energy within the Ruins was a fusion of both, altering its original properties.
Sally had also just learned that the light pathways laid down by Yan Ze were originally Rules. No wonder the Heavenly Dao didn’t allow the System’s existence, as in one world, naturally, only one set of Rules can exist.
Sally used the Teleportation Gate to leave the Ruins Domain directly.
First, she went to the Dark World Continent, where Xiaomei uploaded the investigation data of the Ruins to the Main System, and then she left again.
After her departure, Yan Ze came looking for her but missed her.
…
Eastern Immortal Palace.
Sally recounted the matter of the Heavenly Dao to Zi Qi.
Zi Qi understood her meaning, “So, you want to re-enter the world, to help the Heavenly Dao transcend this human calamity.”
“According to Xiaomei, Ruins with consciousness and that have been discovered are just a part. Many more Ruins are not manipulated but are scattered across all realms, in every corner. Qing Linghuan and the others will continue to investigate the shadowy figures behind the manipulation of the Ruins, and we also need to get the Heavenly Dao back in its place as soon as possible. That way, the Ruins in the Six Realms can be completely eradicated.”
“Yanyan, when you get right down to it, you and Little Beibei are the most innocent victims. Let the Heavenly Dao take the consequences for its actions and face its own reincarnation, sooner or later it will get through. Why should you take this risk?” Zi Qi didn’t want Sally to leave her soul again.
“That’s easy to say, but the Ancestral Dragon took me there for a reason. Don’t worry, this time I’m not planning on leaving my soul. I’m going there in person, and now I have this!”
Sally took out the Teleportation Gate, presenting it as if offering a treasure, “This way I can come back at any time.”
Zi Qi looked at the Teleportation Gate, his expression much relaxed, “Given to you by Qing Linghuan?”
“No, it was given to me by my master. He must have something he’s hiding from me, I tried to contact him afterward but he ignored me.”
“He’s probably busy, or it’s inconvenient,” Zi Qi hugged her, “If you want to go, then go, but come back whenever you have time.”
“Okay.” Sally hugged him tightly, “I’ll take the children with me.”
Zi Qi’s expression grew more relaxed, “Yeah, just take them for a trip to the Human Realm.”
Sally nodded, “I’ll go to Frans’ place tomorrow to check on my youngest son. Is it alright if I stay with you today?”
“I’d love that.” Deep affection and tenderness filled Zi Qi’s profound purple eyes.
…
Human Realm.
A valley resplendent with blooming flowers.
Sally arrived here through the Teleportation Gate.
Surprised, she asked Xiaomei, “Has the Demon Lord visited the Human Realm?”
The teleportation destination, if not reset, would continue to remain at the last location it stopped.
“It seems likely. Xiaomei has scanned the surroundings, there’s an unmarked gravestone five hundred meters away.”
Sally teleported over and looked at the small mound, “Is there an issue with this unmarked grave?”
“Host, you might want to look at the System Map.”
Sally did as suggested and opened the System Map, quickly noticing dazzling golden light emanating from within the grave.
“So, treasure was hidden here.” Immediately, Sally moved Little Shiyi out of the System Space.
Little Shiyi was playing monster-fighting games with Little Shisan and was startled when he was suddenly moved out, but then his Talent reminded him that there was treasure nearby.
He didn’t need Sally’s reminder to start digging furiously…
The small mound was dug up, revealing a one-foot square box without a coffin inside.
Sally squatted down and looked at the box, asking Little Shiyi, “What do you think is inside?”
“Could it be Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures?” Little Shiyi’s excited eyes turned into vertical pupils.
Sally had Xiaomei unlock the clasp, “Come on, open the treasure you found yourself and take a look.”
“Okay.” Little Shiyi lifted the lid of the chest.
Sally peered in curiously, “A helmet?”
Xiaomei informed Sally, “The helmet’s data information matches that of the Teleportation Gate; they are part of the same series. It should be the helmet of the Nine Demons Armor.”
“Wow~” Sally’s eyes lit up, “This is quite a find!”
Little Shiyi wasn’t interested in the helmet even though it was a treasure, “Mom, I want to continue playing the game. I’m coordinating with Little Shisan.”
“Alright, you go back. Mom will take this treasure; it’s quite suitable.” Sally told Little Shiyi.
Little Shiyi nodded, “As long as Mom likes it.”
Sally sent Little Shiyi back, at the same time, she put the helmet away and had Xiaomei study its data.
After ensuring there were no other treasures around, Sally had Xiaomei teleport her directly to Dongfang Yi’s General Residence.
She first transformed back into her Beast Body, opened the System Map, and got to know the current situation here.
Originally, Wu Xiuer had starved to death. It was solely her spirit that had been hanging on by a thread.
After Sally was punched and her spirit left by Dongfang Yi, that thread of life naturally disappeared, and Wu Xiuer’s death reverted.
Dongfang Yi held a grand funeral for Wu Xiuer, sending her off with dignity in her last journey.
However, the fact that he had punched his own wife to death was well known. Therefore, Dongfang Yi had now gained a notorious reputation for being violent.
Anyone who saw him would be wary by three points.
The entire General Residence was also draped in white.
Sally asked Xiaomei, “What should we do?”
“Host, why don’t you transform into Wu Xiuer and get close to him to see his reaction?” Xiaomei suggested an idea.
Sally immediately rejected the idea without a second thought, “No way.”
She had a strong aversion to being a substitute. Previously, she had attached her soul to Wu Xiuer’s body, and out of convenience and the difficulty of explaining, she had improvised.
Now the idea of pretending to be another person again did not appeal to her even slightly.
She teleported away from the General Residence, arriving at a quiet corner, and sent a message to Jian.
Soon, Jian arrived.
In a secluded alley, a little white mouse was nibbling on a fist-sized white fruit. Jian smiled and said, “Back again?”
“Mhm. Have you found the Heavenly Dao?” Sally asked.
Jian picked her up from the ground and placed her in the palm of his hand and took the half-eaten white apple from her, ‘crunch~’ taking a bite, “Not bad.”
Sally then grabbed a bunch of golden grapes to eat.
Jian continued, “For now, we can only narrow it down to the vicinity around the Ancestral Dragon. Anyone he has come into contact with is a potential candidate.”
“And where have you been all this time?”
“Me? I’ve been working on the Teleportation Arrays. It’s the task Elder Heng left me with.”
“…Oh, I forgot about that. I thought you were searching for the Heavenly Dao all this time.”
“The assigned duties are more important. Elder Heng has only given me a hundred years to leave the realm. Finishing early also means more time to spend with the kids, or to travel to other worlds.”
“A very good arrangement,” Sally said, as she moved Little Dot out from the System Space, “Say hello to your dad.”
Upon seeing his own dear son, Jian immediately hugged him close, “Little Dot, did you miss Daddy?”
“I didn’t miss you, I want to go back to the space to play,” Little Dot looked at Sally, “Mom~”
“…Okay.” Sally reluctantly took him back into the System Space.
Jian, whose mood was quite pleased by holding his own son, didn’t mind that his son was too busy with his game to pay attention to him, and asked, “I thought you gave up on the Ancestral Dragon; why are you back?”
Sally replied, “I didn’t come for the Ancestral Dragon; I came for the Heavenly Dao.”
