Rather than saying Ye Xunhuan bumped into the woman approaching him, it would be more accurate to say that the woman who was walking towards him threw herself directly into his arms.
Ye Xunhuan hadn’t expected that as he opened the door and stepped out, someone else would be walking in from outside, and that someone would be a woman. Most importantly, this was a woman Ye Xunhuan knew—and one with whom he had once spent an intimate time!
This woman was none other than Mei Hanqing, with whom Ye Xunhuan had had a relationship through a fortuitous mishap!
Mei Hanqing also hadn’t expected to encounter Ye Xunhuan, let alone in this manner, which left her slightly taken aback.
"Sorry, I had no idea..." Ye Xunhuan hastily separated from Mei Hanqing as he spoke.
"It’s okay!" Mei Hanqing said with a calm expression, seemingly indifferent.
However, her eyes betrayed a hint of shyness, well concealed and thus unnoticed.
It was as if Mei Hanqing had already forgotten about their past affair, or rather, she didn’t seem to dwell on it.
But had she truly let it go?
Clearly not. Upon realizing that the person she bumped into was Ye Xunhuan, Mei Hanqing’s mind involuntarily conjured up that absurd yet heart-fluttering and blush-inducing scene!
At that moment, Qiu Ruoxi suddenly spoke up, "Ms. Mei, your timing is perfect. I was just asking Ye Xunhuan to prepare to find you!"
Upon hearing Qiu Ruoxi’s words, Ye Xunhuan frowned slightly. This woman was actually trying to force his hand!
Mei Hanqing glanced at Ye Xunhuan and prepared to walk past him, at which Ye Xunhuan immediately stepped aside to clear a path.

"Alright, it’s decided then." Qiu Ruoxi didn’t give Mei Hanqing any chance to speak, using a commanding tone to settle the matter.
After hearing Qiu Ruoxi’s definitive words, Mei Hanqing’s face was filled with bitterness. She had come to Qiu Ruoxi with the intention of pushing off the racetrack matter and asking Qiu Ruoxi to assign it to someone else. But now it seemed that Qiu Ruoxi had made up her mind, and Mei Hanqing couldn’t possibly change it.
This filled Mei Hanqing with a sense of powerlessness, after all, the work Qiu Ruoxi had entrusted to her was indeed her responsibility.

"This is the company; it’s an order. You have to comply, and I’m not asking for your opinion," Qiu Ruoxi said coldly. "An order, do you understand?"

"Alright, if there’s nothing else, you can leave now!" Qiu Ruoxi began to issue a dismissal to Ye Xunhuan.
Seeing Qiu Ruoxi absorbed in her work, Ye Xunhuan hummed, "Just don’t go volunteering to swap me out when the time comes."
Qiu Ruoxi seemed as if she hadn’t heard what Ye Xunhuan said, paying him no mind whatsoever.
After Ye Xunhuan left, Qiu Ruoxi slowly raised her head, "You really think I wanted you to take charge of the racetrack?"
After leaving Qiu Ruoxi’s office, Ye Xunhuan went to find Mei Hanqing.
While in Qiu Ruoxi’s office just now, Ye Xunhuan could clearly sense that Mei Hanqing was preoccupied, and also seemingly reluctant to take responsibility for the racetrack matter.

Ye Xunhuan did not cut straight to the chase and ask Mei Hanqing if she had encountered any problems.
After all, he and Mei Hanqing were not very familiar, except for that one time, due to a mix-up, when they had an encounter, they hardly had any interaction.
"You’re overthinking it," Mei Hanqing shook her head decisively, "I have some matters to attend to, so I’d prefer not to take charge. It has nothing to do with you."
"Oh, I see!" Ye Xunhuan’s face revealed a look of understanding, "And here I thought you were reluctant to take charge of the racetrack because of me!"
Mei Hanqing gave a faint smile, "It’s surprising that you’re so vain. You don’t think I’d have a grudge against you just because we had an encounter once, do you?"
"Don’t worry, I’m not that petty!"
Concerning their last encounter, Mei Hanqing was completely straightforward and unreserved.
This made Ye Xunhuan’s old face couldn’t help but turn a slight shade of red!
"Wow, I didn’t expect you to blush!" Mei Hanqing, as if she had discovered a new world, said with some surprise, "That doesn’t seem like a grown man at all!"
"Whether I’m a grown man or not, you should already know," Ye Xunhuan responded with a hint of deeper meaning.
Facing such a suggestive remark from Ye Xunhuan, Mei Hanqing’s cheeks reddened, "Scoundrel!"
"How am I a scoundrel?" Ye Xunhuan looked at Mei Hanqing innocently, "I’m speaking the truth. After all, I’m in my twenties. Isn’t a man in his twenties a grown man?"
