Chapter 120 - 124: The Storm Approaches

Inside a side hall.

Chen Mo was pacing anxiously back and forth.

He rubbed his chin with his right hand, clearly restless and uneasy, cold sweat breaking out on his back.

He even began considering whether he should run away.

No. A man must take responsibility for his actions.

If he wanted the joy of embracing beauties on both sides, he had to bear the consequences of such a life.

After half an hour of restless waiting—

Die entered from outside.

Chen Mo immediately rushed up to her. "Baby, what happened? What did Her Majesty say to you?"

Die looked at Chen Mo, frowning slightly before speaking, "Chen Mo, did something happen between you and my sister?"

"She... she told you everything?" A chill ran down Chen Mo's spine.

Die nodded.

Chen Mo's face changed dramatically, feeling like the ship was about to capsize. His voice trembled slightly as he asked, "Then... are you going to leave me?"

Seeing his expression, Die said, "It seems Sister spoke with you too."

Chen Mo nodded. Last night, his precious Queen had indeed told him she was going to come clean with Die, and had warned him repeatedly: no matter what happened afterward, he was forbidden from approaching Die again.

Chen Mo hadn't agreed at the time — he had simply muddled through with some sweet-talking.

"Then... are you really going to leave me, Die? I'm sorry. I admit I'm greedy. I wanted to have you and still—"

Chen Mo's tone was filled with the guilt of a scoundrel, but before he could finish, Die interrupted him: "What are you talking about? Why would I leave you?"

As she spoke, Die repeated everything her sister had told her, word for word.

"That's why I asked if something happened between you two. Did you do something that made her hate you? Why else would she keep opposing us being together, even telling me to leave you? She even said she would take you away from me... and kill you or something," Die said.

"Oh, so that's what this is about."

Chen Mo couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief. He had nearly confessed everything on his own.

Seeing Chen Mo visibly relax after hearing this, Die frowned lightly and said, "She said she would kill you. Aren't you even a little scared?"

"Ah—scared, of course I'm scared. But I can't beat her anyway," Chen Mo chuckled awkwardly.

Die continued, "From her tone later, it didn't really seem like she wanted to kill you. But she kept apologizing to me... I don't really know what she meant."

"But don't worry," Die added firmly. "I will protect you. I won't let Sister harm you."

Her tone was incredibly resolute.

By now, Chen Mo's injuries had mostly healed.

Over the following days, Chen Mo spent his time cultivating the Great Celestial Star Art during the day and entangling himself with his precious Queen at night.

As for his relationship with Die, it had barely progressed physically.

The Queen was watching too closely.

Chen Mo wasn't suicidal enough to provoke her, so he decided to wait until the tension eased before rekindling intimacy with Die.

It had to be said, under the operation of the Azure Dragon Yin-Yang Art, Chen Mo and the Queen were now deeply connected, body and soul.

Not only were the hidden injuries within her body healing rapidly, but even the aftereffects from burning her blood essence twice in succession after her previous seclusion were nearly cured.

Of course, Chen Mo benefited even more—after all, the Queen's cultivation was far higher than his.

To maintain balance, the Azure Dragon Yin-Yang Art naturally channeled most of the energy toward Chen Mo.

As a result, within a week, Chen Mo easily broke through to the level of a one-star Dou Ling.

His Supreme Primordial Hunyuan Art also made slight progress into its second stage.

At dawn, the first rays of sunlight filtered through the side hall's window, casting a warm glow on the ancient-style bed.

The curtains weren't drawn, and Chen Mo lay naked on the outside edge of the bed.

The morning air was fresh and invigorating. Chen Mo took a deep breath and exhaled slowly, his eyes carrying a mixture of intoxication and helplessness.

Every night these past few days, the Queen had stolen all the bedding in the latter half of the night, leaving not a single scrap for him.

The nights in the Tagor Desert were still quite cool, especially before dawn.

While he wouldn't catch a cold, waking up chilled certainly impacted his sleep.

Still, the early part of the night was... beyond delightful, both physically and mentally, leaving one utterly addicted.

Chen Mo curled his lips into a small smile and turned his head slightly.

His precious Queen was curled up under the covers on the inner side of the bed, only her head resting on Chen Mo's arm, her enchanting face pressed against his chest.

Her eyes were closed, her breathing soft, a healthy blush still lingering on her cheeks, making her look vibrant and captivating.

Chen Mo lowered his head and glanced at her a few times, feeling a little itchy inside.

He gently lifted the edge of the quilt to peek inside—and slipped his hand under.

"Mmm~"

Sensing something, Queen Medusa furrowed her brows slightly and instinctively pushed him away before slowly opening her eyes.

Seeing that familiar mischievous smile on Chen Mo's face, Queen Medusa glared at him fiercely. Remembering how this bastard had made her kneel last night—and even spanked her—she grew furious.

Slowly, she turned her back to him inside the quilt, leaving Chen Mo facing the back of her head.

"If you dare to mistreat this Queen again, see how I'll deal with you."

Chen Mo chuckled softly.

After lying for a bit longer, Queen Medusa got up, dressed herself, and left the side hall to attend to her official duties in the study.

Meanwhile, Chen Mo figured that enough days had passed since that stormy showdown.

After hesitating for a while, he decided to sneak off to find Die.

He had neglected her for quite some time now.

And with the Queen around, he hadn't been able to show too much care or affection, even concerning her injuries.

Today, he had to take this chance to make it up to her properly.

Naturally, he also let Mo Yan out to keep watch as usual.

Yue Nu had already sensed that something very unusual was going on between Her Majesty and Chen Mo—and also with the Princess.

She just lacked hard evidence.

Still, she had a strong premonition that a great storm was approaching.

In Die's bedchamber—

Die sat at a table, sewing a black robe by hand.

Even though Chen Mo told her not to tire herself out, the thought of Chen Mo wearing a robe she had personally made filled her with joy.

It also meant he would have clean clothes to change into.

The robe was nearly complete. Die planned to sew her and Chen Mo's names on the inner lining with red thread.

Then she would embroider intricate golden patterns on the outside to hide the red stitching.

When Chen Mo entered and saw this scene, his heart filled with guilt.

"I told you not to go through so much trouble. If you tire yourself out, how could I bear it?" Chen Mo sat down beside her, gently grabbing her delicate hand.

"Hmph, I'm not that fragile," Die said as she set down her sewing, tilting her head. "Did you make sure Sister didn't notice you coming here?"

Meanwhile, in the study—

Queen Medusa sat before a mountain of official documents, but her mind was elsewhere.

After much hesitation, she finally steeled herself.

This time, she was determined to have a clear talk with her sister.
