Chapter 1084: 340.Malignant epidemic_2
Behind the descendent was the heart of the Pollution Zone, a three-dimensional ceremonial array resembling a hollowed-out metal eyeball.
As the descendent received nourishment from the soul energy, a portion of the energy also flowed into the array.
From inside the pocket of his Madimanson robe, he took out a whistle and blew it to his lips.
The Alchemy Horns outside the Spire received the whistle’s command and started to broadcast a prerecorded message:
“Attention everyone, begin charging the array. The charging speed at each node of the array is 10,000 points per second, and the process must not be interrupted.
“Repeat.
...
“Attention everyone, begin charging the array.”
“Hmm, I arrived just in time,” Noland Lee had just activated the “Tracking Mark” on the Thundering Elephant skeleton when he heard the voice from the Alchemy Horn.
The Metal Capsule Warehouse holding the Thundering Elephant skeleton was still placed on the Storage Shelf, providing Noland with a very broad view.
Noland adjusted the direction of his Magic Vision to search for Tomb Wizard Nissan Dak’s trace.
“Next to the Storage Shelf where the metal capsule warehouse is placed, there are mechanical arms, which move on rails. If I follow the path of the rails, I should be able to find the control console that operates the mechanical arms…”
Noland continuously cast “Tracking Marks,” constantly shifting his viewpoint.
He was not worried about his magical marks being discovered by the Alchemists and descendants of the Blood Sun Seal.
The energy fluctuations around the Spire were as intense as the tides, already sufficient to cover the magical fluctuations of the “Tracking Marks.”
After nearly half an hour of thorough searching, Noland finally found Nissan Dak in the expansive Underground 100th floor, situated in the Control Room.
The man stood nervously next to the Control Console, holding an Alchemy Card that recorded the launching coordinates.
For him, a Third-Ring Wizard, to have the honor of assisting the Tomb King in accomplishing such a grand vision, he could die without regrets.
“Standing atop the Pinnacle of Bones, grasping the Essence of Death. Venturing into the Silent Black Valley, witnessing the Primordial Extinction. You are the Lord of Bones, the pioneer of the Skeleton Expedition. You are the Supreme Ossuary, the sovereign of the Skeleton Throne…”
Nissan Dak prayed devoutly in a low voice, repeating the same words over and over again.
The faint sound of a whistle came from inside the Spire Hall, activating the Alchemy Horn within the Control Room.
The recorded message by Madimanson played inside the room:
“Check the coordinate information on the Alchemy Card, insert it into the central slot of the Control Console, and press the red button beside it.”
Nissan Dak started, coming back to his senses, took a deep breath, and nervously inserted the Alchemy Card into the slot.
He was so anxious that he didn’t even think to check the information on the card…
Watching secretly through “Mind View,” Noland couldn’t help but twitch at the corner of his mouth.
Damnit… Had he known Nissan Dak was this nervous, he wouldn’t have wasted a rune from the “Veil of The World”…
“Click.” The red button was pressed by Nissan Dak.
A series of mechanical and hissing noises came from behind the wall of the Control Console.
With steam-driven devices springing to action, the Alchemy Card was quickly transported through the pipeline to the central device of the Vacuum Bubble Emitter.
Right at that moment, the Surrounding Array around the Spire was close to being fully charged.
A brilliant flash of Element light erupted, bursting from the vicinity of the man-made Titans encircling the Spire, illuminating the Underground 80th to 100th floors.
The vibration began at the Spire and spread outwards, gradually evolving into an earth-shattering situation.
“Boom…”
The ground trembled with the explosive vibrations.
Nissan Dak, who was responsible for placing the Alchemy Card, startled by the violent shaking, quickly fled towards the ground but was horrified to find that the Underground 80th floor had been completely sealed off.
High-performance Alchemy Alloy made up the walls and sluice gates, beyond what he could break through as a Three-circled Wizard.
Nissan Dak screamed in panic, took out pen and paper, and wrote a letter asking for help.
The thing that frightened him most happened—the Magic Messenger did not appear, and the eerie Pollution Zone twisted the space, preventing most Plane Traversal abilities.
Worse yet, Nissan Dak found his body beginning to decay.
His skeletal frame had turned into a mass of gray, rotting, stinking flesh.
…
…
Meanwhile, after Nissan Dak inserted the Alchemy Card into the Control Console, Noland lost interest in the man.
Noland twisted the crystal ring on his finger to inform the Assassin Angel that the Pollution Field was about to open.
As he spoke with the Assassin Angel, the light from the Stereo Array suddenly became gloomy and restrained, changing from bright Element light to a dense, dark aura.
Simultaneously, Noland received a warning message from the System.
