Chapter 1115: 343. Through the Legend_2
Half an hour had passed, and he arrived near the Underground River in Revival City by boat.
Throughout the journey, he had been discussing issues related to Steel Forest of Mortal World with the Assassin Angel.
Firstly, there was the scale of this Pollution Zone.
The Assassin Angel said that if the Undead Cult did not stop the spread of the Steel Forest of Mortal World, this Pollution Zone would rapidly expand to a width of more than 300 kilometers.
Considering that the Undead Cult wanted to use this Pollution Zone to resurrect the Gatherer of the Dead Hellek, its width would not exceed 100 kilometers.
Otherwise, the Pollution Zone would not be able to concentrate its power to prevent the closure of the Outer Space Gap by the Mass Wizard Tombs.
...
Once the Outer Space Gap was closed, the Corpse Essence of the Gatherer of the Dead Hellek would not be able to enter the Inner Cosmos, thus preventing its resurrection by the Undead Cult.
Therefore, the Assassin Angel determined that Noland Lee must find an opportunity to infiltrate the heartland of the Undead Cult, getting near their Main Camp—the Vortex Mountains, before he could successfully enter the Pollution Zone.
Here, in the Land of Resurgence, he might not even catch a glimpse of the Pollution Zone’s shadow.
The Assassin Angel would not help Noland Lee enter the Pollution Zone, as the task was not too difficult and required Noland to resolve it on his own.
However, that did not mean the Assassin Angel would maintain an indifferent attitude after Noland Lee entered the Pollution Zone.
The Pollution Zone, Steel Forest of Mortal World, also exhibited a powerful, irresistible Negative effect that could only be passively endured.
The Assassin Angel referred to it as the “Death Code Virus,” an extraordinary virus that could spread between living and non-living entities without any medium.
Any human infected with this virus would soon be transformed into a mindless “Death Steel Soldier,” becoming part of the Ghost City of the Dead World.
Death Steel Soldiers were skeletal soldiers made of metal, using Soul Energy as the power source for their heat weapons, capable of firing Death Rays and Explosive Pulse Bombs.
In the Steel Forest of Mortal World, Death Steel Soldiers who died would rapidly resurrect with the help of the “Death Code Virus” and rejoin the battle.
According to the conclusion drawn from observing Noland Lee, the Assassin Angel claimed that after entering the Steel Forest of Mortal World, Noland Lee would become an elite “Death Steel Soldier” within about half an hour.
To move freely in this Pollution Zone, one must rely on the power of the Assassin Angel.
“This time, I will give you four ‘Divine power runes,'” said the Assassin Angel:
“One to cast ‘Phantom Kill: Annihilation Slash,’ three to cast ‘Veil of The World.’ After entering the Pollution Zone, you must use one ‘Veil of The World’ to counteract the ‘Death Code Virus.’ The second ‘Veil of The World’ is to deal with ‘Gilence’s Power.’ As for the third, I will leave that decision up to you.”
Noland Lee strolled the streets, weaving through the crowded throngs, heading towards the hotel where Denise Green was staying.
“I feel that this journey into the Pollution Zone will be much more difficult than the last,” Noland Lee reflected in his heart.
The Assassin Angel said:
“Yes. It was only by the directives of the Dark Divine Cult that the Blood Sun Seal Descendants took on the task of resurrecting the Gatherer of Corpses. It has no significant connection to the Gatherer of Corpses, with over fifty Plane Years separating them.
“The relationship between Ghost City of the Dead World and the Gatherer of the Dead, however, is much deeper than that between the Blood Sun Seal and the Gatherer of Corpses.
“Behind the Gatherer of the Dead Hellek lies the Plane Core known as ‘Journey to Death.’ This Plane Core follows a peculiar rule:
“The earlier one dies, the longer one has been dead, the more extraordinary power it grants to that soul.
“At the birth of the ‘Journey to Death’ Plane Core, Hellek became the first to fall, thus drawing the most extraordinary power from within the ‘Journey to Death’ Plane Core.
“Due to the enticement of the ‘Journey to Death’ Plane Core, more life forms joined the Army of the Lost, greatly increasing the power of the Plane Core.”
The Assassin Angel paused for a moment:
“After a long war between the living and the dead, Hellek eventually led the Army of the Lost to take over the Fire of St. Dylan, heralding the 115th Plane Year.
“During the campaign, Hellek’s ‘Death Steel Legion’ was formidable in battle, and behind this legion was the ‘Death Steel’ Plane Core.
“The 116th Plane Year started with the ‘Death Steel’ Plane Core funding the ‘Death Steel Legion’ to overthrow Hellek’s rule.
“After the Ghost City of the Dead World resurrects the Gatherer of the Dead in the Inner Cosmos this time, it can rely on the other’s power to strengthen itself, and at the same time, strike a deal with the Dark Divine Cult, trading the Gatherer of the Dead for remuneration. This creates a mutually beneficial situation that promotes cooperation between the two.”
Though he had never seen the ancient scenes depicted by the Assassin Angel, Noland Lee listened with avid interest, involuntarily stopping in his tracks on the street.
He leaned against a street lamp, lazily watching the passersby come and go.
“So, by that logic, the Supreme Star Palace must have appeared during the 117th Plane Year, right?” Noland Lee asked.
“No, the Supreme Star Palace appeared in the 300th Plane Year,” said the Assassin Angel.
“300???”
Noland Lee inquired in confusion:
“Hellek taking hold of the Fire of Dillan was an event of the 115th Plane Year. Yet the Supreme Star Palace appeared in the 300th Plane Year. There’s a gap of 185 Plane Years between them. So how did Hellek join the Supreme Star Palace and become one of the Gatherer of the Dead in the Dark God System?”
“Time holds no meaning for the Supreme Star Palace,” said the Assassin Angel.
