Chapter 847: 265. Forbidden in the Deep Sea
The Dreadscale Priestesses pursuing Mira Faar totaled ten.
After Mira Faar flew towards the high skies, the group of Dreadscale Priestesses entered an Invisibility Status.
They blended in with the surrounding seawater.
The hundreds of sea serpents by their side did the same.
Noland Lee stroked his chin, feeling that although the situation was somewhat tricky, the risk was overall controllable.
The Dreadscale Priestesses possessed “Hearts of the Sea Monster,” immune to the negative effects of most Mental Magic, and they had very lengthy “Mental Health Bars.”
They mastered various ranged Spells like “Vicious Water Missiles” and “Poisonous Whirlwind.”
As long as Mira Faar flew high enough, she would be able to avoid attacks from underwater.
Noland Lee used “Mind Induction” to urge Mira Faar to fly even higher.
His reminder came just in time to help her dodge the simultaneous “Vicious Water Missiles” fired by the Dreadscale Priestesses, earning Mira’s warm thanks.
By the time Mira Faar reached a height of three thousand meters above the sea surface, the water missiles shot by the Dreadscale Priestesses began to seem feeble.
The Spell arrows, containing dark green toxins, flew only halfway before drooping down, drawing arcs in the air and falling into the seawater.
Mira Faar cheered inwardly, celebrating her imminent escape.
But Noland Lee cautioned:
“Don’t let your guard down, Mira. Those sea witches haven’t left. They seem to be particularly interested in you, always following you through the seawater below.”
“Yes, Sir!” Mira Faar slightly sped up, swiftly crossing the boundary of Subsea No.13, arriving in Subsea Area No.14.
“Sir, I’m going to try to open the Teleportation Gate now.”
Mira Faar flew forward for a while, then transformed back from the glowing Molten Core into a human, lifting her magic wand toward the sky.
The dark red stars in the starry sky flickered once, as if responding to her teleportation request.
But the next second, ten Dreadscale Priestesses burst out from the sea surface, screeching sharply at the high skies:
“Chirp chirp chirp!!”
The piercing screams carried an extremely weird rhythm.
Dark green Spell lightwaves shot out from the sea surface, instantly crossing the vertical gap of three thousand meters, sweeping over Mira Faar’s figure.
The lightwave had no killing power but penetrated her Magic Shield, causing her to lose her balance, her form to wobble, eardrums to swell, and eyes to become bloodshot.
The process of opening the Teleportation Gate was interrupted.
Mira Faar groaned in pain, her body exploding into splendid fireworks.
The fireworks scattered like frightened birds, breaking free from the dark green lightwave, gathering a hundred meters away and reshaping into Mira Faar’s form.
“Those sea witches seem particularly persistent, you have something on you that is attracting them.”
Noland Lee’s voice sounded in Mira Faar’s mind:
“Don’t start the Teleportation Gate now, fly towards the place I’m guiding you to. I’ll meet you halfway and block the sea witches for you.”
“Yes…Sir…” Mira Faar murmured in response, obviously still dazed from the sea witches’ screeching.
She mustered her spirits, focused her attention, and once again transformed into the glowing Molten Core, flying in the direction indicated by “Mind Induction.”
Alas, it was frustrating, a Seven-ring Flame Battle Wizard was really constrained at sea.
The seawater itself acted as a natural barrier that protected the sea witches, resisting most of the flame energy.
Because of this, Mira Faar had no desire to resist the sea witches lurking under the sea surface.
She was well aware that her flame Spells were unlikely to harm the sea witches in the water.
Until she became an eighth Circle wizard, stepping into the Saint Tier, she couldn’t create a temporary Flame Sub-plane at sea and had to passively endure the assault.
Now, she could only hope for the Saint Level Mind Wizard to aid her in the relentless pursuit by the sea witches underwater.
But how could a Saint Level Mind Wizard assist her?
The fact that sea witches were immune to most Mental Magic was not a secret among the High Ring Level Wizard Group.
In such a situation, did the mysterious Saint Level Mind Wizard have any good methods?
Mira Faar couldn’t help but worry about the prospects of her escape.
But after flying for a while, occasionally under attack from sea witches, her concerns were swept away by the dark cloud appearing at Sky’s Edge.
It was an ominous black cloud cluster perched even higher, with an estimated diameter of over a kilometer, faintly flashing with unsettling bright blue thunder and lightning.
It appeared right along Mira Faar’s flight path.
The closer she got to it, the more she could feel the astonishing thunder and lightning energy inside it.
Mira Faar watched the abrupt dark cloud with caution.
Just as she intended to make an arc in the sky to circumvent the cloud, she heard the gentle voice of the Saint Level Mind Wizard.
“That dark cloud is my summoned creature, don’t worry about it harming you. Keep flying forward, and count silently in your heart for 30 seconds. When the count is over, open the Teleportation Gate. My dark cloud will block the sea witches for you.”
Mira Faar slightly started, puzzled as to why a Saint Level Mind Wizard would command such tremendous thunder and lightning energy.
But she refrained from an untimely inquiry:
“Yes, Sir. I’ll start counting down 30 seconds now. 30, 29, 28…”
As Noland Lee listened to Mira Faar’s countdown, he manipulated his Thundercloud in the Magic Yacht.
Suspended around him were more than a dozen dim Elemental Energy Reactors.
The Thundercloud that appeared in Mira Faar’s view was summoned on the spot by Noland Lee using the “Thundercloud Technique.”
With the “Tracking Mark,” the Thundercloud demonstrated its beyond-visual-range combat capability.
