The only worry at that point in time would have been its mastery over the Dao of Illusions, though this aspect had been negated by his own comprehension of the Dao of Illusions.
The main reason he had been caught off guard by it in the past being because it had been completely unexpected, a mistake on his part.

Forcing the guardian demon beast to partly focus its attention on dealing with these strange plants.
