Chapter 1150: Chapter 1150: You Quite Like Me as Well?_1 Chapter 1150 -1150: You Quite Like Me as Well?_1 “You refuse to let go and spend time with me,” Lyke Zhekova said.

“You’ve drawn a line between us.”

That was natural, thought Peggy Lewis.

She and Lyke Zhekova were so different; they were from two different worlds.

There was no need to deliberately draw a line; she would unconsciously distance herself from him.

“That’s why I thought, first, let’s dispel some of your preconceptions and defences about me,” Lyke Zhekova continued.

“I don’t have any preconceptions about you.” Peggy Lewis felt unjustly wronged by this point.

“Don’t you?

...

You feel a distance between us and think we are people from two different worlds.

You think Zhekova family is out of reach, that’s your prejudice against me.” Lyke Zhekova said.

“But, in practice, I have shown you that those initial perceptions of yours do not exist,” said Lyke Zhekova.

Lyke Zhekova slightly smiled, “Let’s not stray from the subject.”

“I like you, and that’s why I’ve been doing all this.

I wouldn’t lie to you, saying I like you just to keep you with me,” Lyke Zhekova gazed seriously at Peggy Lewis.

“I’m not that noble, sacrificing my own feelings to help others.

Pretending to like someone when I don’t.

If I could be so compromising, I would not have been single until this age.”

Lyke Zhekova thought about the sacrifices he had made so far. 𝑛𝘰𝘷𝑝𝘶𝑏.𝑐𝘰𝘮

To make Peggy Lewis believe in him; he even confessed to being old in front of her.

Which was something he was never willing to admit!

Peggy Lewis was silent.

“So, would you like to be my girlfriend?” Lyke Zhekova asked.

“I…” Peggy Lewis felt her brain exploding, leaving her mind blank and tongue-tied.

She utterly froze.

“Would you like me to give you a night to think about it?” Lyke asked.

Peggy Lewis barely heard what Lyke was saying; she only saw his lips were moving.

At this moment, all she could think of was how good-looking his lips were.

Peggy had no idea that, when her mind had gone blank she voiced her thoughts unknowingly.

Lyke was momentarily stunned.

Who knew Peggy’s shy exterior hid such a bombshell!

She apparently found him attractive.

His vanity flared; laughing, he said, “Not only pretty but also yummy, wanna try?”

“Eh?” Peggy looked at Lyke in surprise.

How could his words just resonate with her thoughts?

That’s incredible!

Observing Peggy’s confused expression, Lyke realized she was unaware she had voiced her thoughts.

She’s so adorable, he thought.

Now he wished he had asked her if she liked him when her mind was elsewhere.

Perhaps Peggy would have openly expressed her feelings.

But looking at Peggy’s current reaction, Lyke grew a little more confident.

“You just said my lips are good-looking,” Lyke explained with a small smile.

Peggy gasped.

She! she had actually said that?

“So, can I take it to mean that, you also like me?” Who cares if his lips look good if you don’t like him.

Peggy blushed; she was too shy to admit her feelings even now.

She was really too shy.

“All you have to answer is, will you be my girlfriend?” Lyke asked again, “Yes, or no?”

“Just one word, or two words, that’s all you need to answer me,” Lyke continued.

Even before Peggy spoke, a smile tugged at the corner of her mouth.

She couldn’t believe her luck; she would have woken up laughing if this was a dream.

By looking at Peggy’s expression, Lyke already knew the answer.

However, he still wanted to hear it from her own mouth for confirmation.

Otherwise, it would feel like he had tricked her into agreeing.

“Yes,” Peggy managed to articulate clearly, finally able to relax.

All this time, she hadn’t been unrequitedly dreaming, nor had she been secretly longing.

To her surprise, Lyke actually liked her.

Although she still didn’t understand why: she was so ordinary, not spectacular, and had no particularly attractive traits.

There were so many more attractive, accomplished, and distinctive women than her.

When she walked down the street, she was just another face in the crowd, not getting any attention.

Why, then, would Lyke like her?

Knowing that Lyke liked her, Peggy felt a mix of joy and insecurity.

She lacked confidence, feeling she didn’t have any appealing traits to attract Lyke.

Especially considering Lyke had been single for 37 years.

He was obviously not the kind to settle; he was very picky.

How did such a picky person come to choose her?

However, Peggy didn’t have time to mull over these details.

Just when she was in a daze, a shadow appeared in front of her.

Peggy just felt a shade of darkness; the next second, a layer of softness covered her lips.

Warm, soft, and moist.

Peggy was paralyzed, yet her heart thumped wildly in her chest.

Lyke was kissing her!

All Peggy saw was Lyke’s zoomed-in face.

Because he was so close, she couldn’t see him fully.

All she could see were his eyes, half-closed.

His lashes were thicker than many girls, but not overly long.

His nose pressed against her cheek, and she saw her own nose pressing against his face.

Leaving an imprint on his skin.

When she took a breath, she could even smell the aftershave from his face.

Suddenly, her eyes were covered by Lyke’s hand.

Everything turned dark, and the sensation of his kiss was amplified.

She could feel nothing else but his kiss.

Finally, Lyke let go of her slightly.

But Peggy was still held in his arms.

At some point, she had been pushed against the wall by Lyke.

Her face burning, Peggy looked at Lyke blankly.

And saw Lyke grinning at her.

Both his gaze and his smile were indescribably warm and gentle.

“Have you unpacked the luggage you brought back?” Lyke asked.

“Uh?” Peggy felt unprecedentedly confused.

It took her a while to digest Lyke’s words.

“Yeah,” Peggy replied softly.

Her mind was overwhelmed, so she didn’t overthink it and just replied honestly.

She had unpacked her luggage at night since she had nothing else to do.

Otherwise, she would be thinking about him if she had idle time.

“Then pack up again, let’s go back,” Lyke said.
