Chapter 1154: Chapter 1154: Can’t Fall Behind_1 Chapter 1154 -1154: Can’t Fall Behind_1 Lyke Zhekova figured that he couldn’t lag behind.

He can’t possibly let Peggy Lewis make him meals after getting married, could he?

After all, he was not the shameless Adrian Zhekova who let Cindy Clarke cook for him.

There was no way he could do something as outrageous as Adrian Zhekova.

So, he decided to start with the simplest task, preparing breakfast.

This way, he could handle the breakfast duties moving forward.

...

It would also buy Peggy some extra sleep time in the morning.

The reason he had let Peggy prepare breakfast in the past was because they didn’t have a formal relationship then.

Peggy was living with him, and he felt like he might be causing her inconvenience.

So she tried hard to repay his kindness.

Lyke couldn’t put Peggy in a difficult position.

What if he didn’t agree and Peggy insisted on repaying him, ending up doing something very tough for herself?

Hence, Lyke simply agreed to a simpler task — letting her prepare breakfast, so she could feel a little more at ease living with him.

But now things were different. 𝔫𝖔𝖛𝖕𝖚𝔟.𝖈𝖔𝔪

Peggy was officially his girlfriend.

Peggy could now live there very comfortably.

So naturally, Lyke seized the opportunity to take over the breakfast duty.

Of course, if Peggy was making soup to nourish his stomach, he would gladly accept it.

This was her affection towards him, how could he possibly refuse?

As it was his first time preparing it, Lyke had opted for the simplest set — fried eggs, bread, and coffee.

He deliberately switched his coffee with milk.

To avoid getting scolded by Peggy.

“These are very basic stuff, so it should taste alright.” Lyke said, “I didn’t add salt to the fried egg.

There are spices and soy sauce on the side, so you can add according to your preference.”

“Okay.” Peggy added a little soy sauce to the fried egg.

The half-fried egg slightly sweet taste of the soy sauce.

After being absorbed by the crispy edges of the fried egg, the flavor becomes even richer.

Peggy liked runny eggs.

Thus, Lyke only fried one side for her.

He controlled the heat quite well.

The underside was burnt to a golden-brown, the runner-side was soft and tender, and at the heart was a yolk, soft and tender.

When poked with a spoon, it quivers, quite akin to a sun.

Peggy scooped out the yolk separately and ate it.

The runny yolk had a unique and savory taste.

You’d find it deeply satisfying if you liked it but find it fishy if you didn’t.

But Peggy could only taste the rich and smooth flavor.

“You cooked it so well.” Peggy said, satisfied, “Other than on days off when I go home and my mom has prepared meals for me, this is the first time I’ve woken up to a warm breakfast ready for me on a workday.”

Lyke, not sure if it was because they just got together, was deliberately behaving extraordinarily well.

Lyke was overjoyed upon hearing those words and he felt that his efforts were paying off greatly.

So useful!

“From now on, I’ll be in charge of breakfast.” Lyke declared.

Peggy was surprised.

Lyke was seriously planning to take over the breakfast duties completely.

“Wasn’t I the one handling it before?” Peggy asked, amused.

“You can sleep in a little more in the morning.

The breakfast is relatively simple, I think I can manage.” Lyke said, “I agreed to let you make breakfast for me before, so that you could feel more at ease staying here, otherwise, why else would I let you do it?”

“Now that you’re comfortable staying here, I can take care of breakfast from now on,” Lyke replied with a smile.

Peggy now closely understood what Cindy meant when she said Lyke was dependable.

He seemed to be intending not to let her do anything at all.

In all the years Lyke had grown up with, he had people to take care of him, he never had to do anything on his own.

And yet he didn’t believe in the idea that women should be in charge of the cleaning, cooking, and house chores.

And when he said he’d take care of her and not let her cook, he didn’t mean letting the housekeeper do it; he meant doing it himself.

Just this alone was something that many men can’t do.

Some men are not capable of doing a lot, but they’re pretty arrogant.

“Is that okay with you?” Peggy asked, smiling.

“Why wouldn’t it be?” Lyke replied, “This morning I made it easy just to be safe, although it wasn’t much, at least it was palatable.”

“I wanted to make something nicer, but I was afraid that it might be too tricky for me, and what if I ended up preparing something that isn’t tasty, leaving you to go to work on an empty stomach.” Lyke said, “Later, I’ll ask Xiuan to teach me some cooking tips.

I’ll start practicing cooking during breakfast, and I’m certain that I’ll get good at it soon.”

From Lyke’s words, Peggy gathered that he seemed to have more goals than just handling breakfast?

So Peggy asked.

“Of course, if possible, I’d want to handle the main meals as well,” Lyke replied, “I’ll be the one to make your future meals.”

Peggy felt as if she had the luck of her life.

Lyke was too good to be true!

It was not about how much he did, or how well he did it.

Rather, his intention alone was already very precious.

“Then what am I supposed to do?” Peggy wondered if she wouldn’t have anything left to do.

The house-cleaning work was handled by the housekeeper who came regularly, so there was no need for her to take care of it.

And now, if Lyke was going to take over all three meals, wouldn’t she become jobless at home?

“You should make some free time at home and do things that interest you,” Lyke replied, “Don’t you like building Legos?

We can plan to free a room for you to display them.”

“I’ve seen some creators display their Lego creations in a photo frame and hang them on the wall, others use a transparent tea table, others even display them directly in an aquarium, it all looks interesting.” Lyke added, “We could also think of some fun and creative ways to display them.”

“You have already had a long day at work, surely you shouldn’t come home and continue to work?” Lyke said with conviction, “After spending a tiresome day outside, when you come back home, you should really chill and do what you like, and relax properly.”

Peggy was dumbfounded.

She spent a day working outside, but so did Lyke too!

What an angelic man he was!

However, it couldn’t be possibly Lyke doing everything all by himself.

How they would divide the chores in future, was something both of them would decide based on the situation at that time.

And they didn’t really have to do their own cooking.

Like before, their dinners were delivered from the restaurant.

So they had to adjust according to the living circumstances along the way.

Peggy didn’t stress over this again.

When problems arise, they would natually get solved.

After they finished their breakfast, they tidied up and set off.

Lyke parked the car by the kerbside of Peggy’s Company.

“I have almost settled the discussions with the clients.

The next two days, I don’t need to entertain them personally, just need to arrange someone to show them around the local historic sites during the day.” Lyke explained, “I’ll entertain them again when they are about to leave.

So these two days, like before, I will be able to pick you up on time.”
