Chapter 1207: Chapter 1207: Will You Have Regrets?_1 Chapter 1207 -1207: Will You Have Regrets?_1 Samson Zhekova: “…”

He never expected retribution to come this fast.

In the Eighty-Eight Sixty-Four group, Clifford Wells was at the bottom.

But now, he was the one at the bottom in his household!

Samson Zhekova couldn’t help but reevaluate himself.

His sense of crisis was still too weak.

This is why he didn’t anticipate this situation earlier.

For the first time in his life, Samson Zhekova wanted to be in a relationship.

...

He had never felt this desire before, even when the Old Madam kept bugging him about it.

But now, facing the pressure from his older brother and Fourth Uncle, Samson wanted to find a girlfriend as a shield.

Seeing Samson’s terrified face, Lyke Zhekova laughed: “How about coming over to our place?”

“Peggy has been to your place before, but Cindy hasn’t visited our house yet,” Lyke Zhekova said.

“Sounds good,” Adrian Zhekova nodded, “You’re the guest of honor today.

It’s your happy event, so you should host.”

Cindy spoke eagerly: “I also want to see what your place – where you two live together – looks like.”

Peggy Lewis was living with Lyke Zhekova?

The thought made Cindy unbearably curious.

The little one was feeling drowsy as he ate.

His young age betrayed his endurance and stamina.

Cindy couldn’t compete with him when he was full of energy.

But after a brief spell of hyperactivity, he would become deflated.

By the end of lunch, he was listless, his eyelids fighting to stay open.

Now, he was being held snugly in Adrian Zhekova’s arms.

His round little face was pressed against Adrian Zhekova’s shoulder, yawning from fatigue.

But upon hearing that they would be going to Lyke Zhekova’s home, even though he was exhausted, he forced himself to nod on Adrian’s shoulder: “Yes, let’s go to Fourth Grandfather and Fourth Grandmother’s house.”

Peggy Lewis: “…”

The little one’s quick change of address had everyone laughing.

Especially Lyke Zhekova, who had been tricked by the little one many times before, yet he had just willingly changed his manner of address without being prompted.

Lyke Zhekova decided silently that he would pack a larger red packet for him at the Chinese New Year.

Peggy Lewis stepped forward, pinched the little one’s soft cheeks, and asked, “You changed so quickly, don’t you feel uneasy?”

“I do feel a bit uneasy,” the little one yawned, “I wanted to call her Godmother.”

Oh, he missed the good old times when he could call her Godmother.

Now it felt like he had lost a Godmother.

The little one didn’t say it out loud, but oddly enough, Peggy Lewis felt the same way.

She felt as if she had lost a loving Godson.

Peggy Lewis caressed the little one’s soft hair, feeling a bit melancholy.

Although their relationship was as close as before, or even more intimate now that they were going to become a real family, things still felt different.

Cindy, noticing their wistfulness, gently swatted the little one’s nose, “What are you thinking about?

If you don’t get used to it, you can still call her Godmother, as long as you don’t do it in front of the Great Grandfather and Great Grandmother.”

Cindy made this offer to the little one right away, without consulting Adrian Zhekova or Lyke Zhekova.

After speaking, she then turned to Adrian Zhekova and Lyke Zhekova, smiling, “Is that OK?”

“I don’t mind,” Lyke Zhekova replied with a smile.

He could tell that Peggy Lewis was willing.

And of course, if Peggy Lewis was willing, he would have no objections.

Obviously, Adrian Zhekova had no objections either.

“Godmother!” The little one immediately called out joyfully.

With that, his mood lightened instantly.

Indeed, such a familiar address was warming to the heart.

Peggy Lewis thought of the times she had spent with Cindy and the little one.

Those memories were irreplaceable and indelible.

Peggy Lewis also broke into a delighted smile.

And so, everyone got into their respective vehicles.

Only Samson Zhekova, who had come with his elder’s car without his own vehicle, got into Adrian Zhekova’s car.

Cindy took the passenger seat while Samson Zhekova sat with the little one in the back.

During the drive, Lyke Zhekova said to Peggy Lewis, “I really did not expect today to lead to discussions about marriage.

I thought an engagement was already pushing the limit.

I was already very happy being able to get engaged so quickly.”

Peggy Lewis understood what Lyke Zhekova meant, but she still teased him, “What?

You don’t want to marry me so soon?”

“Of course not,” Lyke Zhekova said, holding Peggy Lewis’s hand, “You’re just teasing me.”

“I was considering that we’re missing out on the normal steps, which might leave you with regrets,” Lyke Zhekova confessed.

“What about you?

Would you have regrets?” Peggy Lewis asked.

“I would be overjoyed, anticipating the day I can bring you home as quickly as possible.

This is a win for me,” Lyke Zhekova said with a smile, “Honestly, this situation is beneficial for me, but not the same for you.”

“You’ve missed the normal stages of dating and got left out of the proposal stage.

You’ve leapt directly to the marriage stage right after confirming the relationship.”

“The fact that both you and your parents agreed so quickly to our marriage shows the trust you place in me.

If they didn’t trust me, they wouldn’t agree to giving you to me this quickly.”

“My father wasn’t completely acting.

He is getting old and if we prolong this any longer, it’s uncertain whether he could see me settled and having children,” Lyke Zhekova admitted.

“So, I’m conflicted.

I want to give you a complete dating and marriage process, to take things slow, not to rush.

This would set your mind at ease and appease your parents.

You wouldn’t have to worry about various things because of marrying me too early.”

“But then again, what if my grandfather doesn’t get to see it?” Lyke Zhekova wondered.

“I was incapable of stopping my elders and grandfather from persistently rushing things, which in fact reflects my incompetence,” Lyke Zhekova said.

Satisfying his elders meant being unfair to Peggy Lewis and her parents.

But if he considered the Lewis family’s feelings, the uncertainty on his grandfather’s side was too great.

It was still his fault.

If only he had settled down earlier, had met Peggy Lewis sooner, there wouldn’t be such complex dilemmas.

“Don’t say that,” Peggy Lewis squeezed Lyke Zhekova’s hand, “My parents trust you because you are genuinely good.

Your reputation is solid, and that’s something to be happy about.”

“Moreover, it’s not about how soon or late one gets married.

If a person isn’t trustworthy, then no matter how long the relationship lasts, they would still suffer after marriage.

You are a good person, that’s why even if we are getting married right away, our elders won’t worry.”

“As for the proposal, I really don’t care.

Marriage is about mutual trust, and when the feelings are right, everything will fall into place.

The form of a proposal doesn’t really matter.”

“There are those who like romance and there are those who prefer a steady and gentle life,” Peggy Lewis smiled gently, “I like both, but I don’t deliberately pursue romance.

If I had to choose between the two, I would definitely choose a steady and gentle life.”

“All those so-called romantic gestures, grand and flamboyant proposals are, in a sense, also forms of pressure.”
