Chapter 869: Chapter 869: Absolutely Not Rushing to Annoy People_1 Chapter 869: Chapter 869: Absolutely Not Rushing to Annoy People_1 But without the head chef’s help, Cindy Clarke might not even have the chance to convince that master to take her as an apprentice.

So, Cindy has always been greatly grateful to the head chef.

In retrospect, it seems that she has always encountered benefactors along her journey.

“Regardless of my final ranking in this competition,” Cindy said to Adrian Zhekova, “Even if I get eliminated from this competition, it’s all right.”

“I’ve mentally prepared myself a long time ago,” said Cindy, “I planned to pursue my dream once I had settled things with Morgan.”

“Now is the perfect time,” Cindy said confidently.

Even without meeting Adrian, her life with Morgan is already stable.

She has sufficient income to support herself.

She doesn’t have to wander around homeless like she used to.

...

Even if she’s busy with the restaurant, she can still find the time to continue her work as a food blogger.

If there are any financial difficulties with the restaurant, the income from her food blog can be used to compensate.

Looking back, Cindy realized that she has always been making herself busy.

Constantly challenging herself.

She could have just focused on being a successful food blogger and didn’t have to go through the hard work of starting a business again.

Besides, running a restaurant comes with significant risks.

Though she has the fame of being a food blogger that could draw a certain crowd.

Yet, past the initial appeal, a restaurant’s survival depends on its ability to continually attract diners.

Many restaurants start out ambitiously, but, not long afterward, end up having to close due to financial losses.

Starting a restaurant might seem profitable, but the chances of failure are also higher. no𝚟𝚙u𝚋.c𝚘m

But Cindy still wants to give it a try.

If life doesn’t have a bit of challenge, if there isn’t any determination and courage to fight for one’s dreams,

How could one, when now old, reflect back on their life knowing,

that they regret many things they never did, regret never daring to try.

Leaving the world they can only journey through once filled with regrets,

How painful would that be?

Adrian Zhekova nodded: “Alright, I support you.”

“Let’s not discuss this now.

We’ll talk about it after the competition,” said Cindy, “You should go sit down, I’ll be going back.”

“All right.” Adrian nodded, seeing Cindy head backstage, then left.

Not long after Adrian left, Peggy Lewis also came to the backstage area.

Peggy didn’t rudely barge in.

She poked her head through the entrance cautiously.

The door to the backstage area was left open.

Because earlier on, both Zoe Silverstone and Iris Doone had unpleasant altercations with Cindy.

Therefore, they were worried that if the participants closed the door, another unpleasant incident might occur.

So, they left the doors open.

So if anything does happen, they can hear and rush over immediately.

“Cindy!” Peggy called from the doorway.

Cindy heard the voice, turned her head towards the door.

Seeing Peggy, she ran over quickly.

“Why aren’t you coming in?” asked Cindy, as she gave Peggy a big hug.

“Aren’t there other contestants here?

It’d be rude if our chit-chat disturbed them,” responded Peggy.

“Don’t worry about it, they’re all good people,” said Cindy with a smile.

“Well, I really didn’t have anything else to discuss.

I just came to cheer you on,” Peggy admitted.

Peggy went back home for New Year’s.

Even though her home is in Belfard,

but her maternal family’s elders still live in the old house in Lexington City.

They don’t go back every year.

After all, her paternal grandparents live in Belfard.

So they alternate each year.

One year they spend New Year’s in Belfard, the next they head back to the old house in Lexington City.

This year was their turn to go back to Lexington.

Therefore, Cindy wasn’t able to visit the Lewis Family during New Year’s.

After the New Year Celebration, once Cindy got hold of the tickets for the major competition, she sent one to Peggy.

The seats are connected to the Zhekova Family’s, and all are front-row VIP seats.

“Alright, I’ll go find my seat now,” Peggy said hastily.

Cindy grabbed her, saying, “Wait a second.”

“What?” Peggy stopped and asked.

Cindy feels that ever since she married Adrian, she hasn’t been able to give Peggy much attention.

The number of times that they’ve met is fewer than before.

But being busy isn’t an excuse.

Peggy is just as busy, yet she always manages to find the time to help Cindy look after Morgan.

Cindy feels that she’s neglected Peggy.

Cindy is filled with remorse.

“What happened to you?

Why do you look like you’ve done something that betrayed me?” No one knew Cindy better than Peggy.

Just one look at Cindy’s face, and Peggy could decipher her emotions.

“Come on, tell me.

What have you done to betray me?” Though Peggy couldn’t quite believe that Cindy would do anything to betray her.

She simply can’t comprehend why Cindy would make such a face.

Cindy said awkwardly, “I feel like I’ve been neglecting you.

It’s been so long since we’ve last met.”

“Who said that?

Didn’t you just bring me the ticket last week?” Peggy immediately defended once she heard that.

“You know what I mean,” Cindy retorted.

Peggy burst out laughing, “You’re worrying about unnecessary things.

We’re always in contact, and although we don’t meet as often, we still chat on Whatsapp daily, I don’t feel neglected at all.”

“Don’t overthink it,” Peggy advised, “You used to need help with Morgan, and I helped out where I could.

It was natural for me to visit you more often.”

“Now that there’s someone to help with Morgan and you’re not as worn out, it gives me a chance to breathe as well.

You can’t expect me to visit you all the time like before, can you?”

“Besides, you’re living with Adrian now.

I’m usually busy on weekdays and can’t visit you.

By the time I’m off work or it’s the weekend or holiday, you’re always with Adrian.

Should I go there and be a third wheel?”

“Moreover, even if I do pop over, Adrian guards you so closely that I’d feel like I’m intruding on your married life.” Peggy couldn’t help but roll her eyes when mentioning Adrian.

Back when Cindy and Adrian weren’t married, she only accidentally ran into Adrian a few times.

But even then, his disdain was quite apparent.

Peggy sure had no interest in going out of her way to offend him.

Cindy: “…”

“Let’s meet outside then,” said Cindy, “After the competition’s over, we’ll have more time.”

“Sounds good,” Peggy responded, “When I get the chance, I’ll come to visit you at your home.”

At that time, Adrian won’t be at home, so she’d be able to chat with Cindy properly.

“You wouldn’t believe how much I miss your cooking,” said Peggy as she linked arms with Cindy.
