Chapter 168: 168, Bewitching man, Young Master Chen

Chapter 168: 168, Bewitching man, Young Master Chen

At the gate, Shi Yuhuan suddenly halted, extending his arm. “Let’s go, meet my grandfather.”

Song Qinghuan blinked in surprise, but without uttering a word, she took his arm.

Oh my, this is like meeting the parents. Although it’s all supposed to be pretend, why was she so nervous that she couldn’t say a word?

The gate was opened by a servant, and as soon as Shi Yuhuan stepped in with Song Qinghuan, the butler greeted them with a smile. “Young Master Yuhuan has returned!”

Immediately, he turned his attention to Song Qinghuan. “This must be the Young Madam. Hello, Young Madam!”

With that, he bowed deeply. Song Qinghuan was not used to this and gave a somewhat foolish smile.

Respecting the age of the butler, she was also preparing to bow, but Shi Yuhuan swiftly pulled her back.

He glanced upstairs and asked the butler, “Is grandfather in the study?”

“Yes,” the butler reverently replied. “Young Master Chen also just arrived. The Old Master and he are in the study. However, he instructed that when you arrive, you should go directly upstairs to find him.”

At those words, Shi Yuhuan subtly furrowed his brows.

He nodded at the butler and proceeded to guide Song Qinghuan upstairs.

Song Qinghuan followed him cautiously, her eyes instinctively scanning the mansion that could easily be mistaken for an imperial palace.

All the furniture, including the stair railings, was intricately carved from Hainan pearwood.

Every decorative item – porcelain, jade, calligraphy, and paintings – seemed a marvelous work of art.

In short, everything that met her eyes seemed to be a treasure of inestimable worth.

Suddenly, Shi Yuhuan’s voice sounded in her ear. “I should warn you in advance, my grandfather is not easy to talk to.”

“Ah?!” Song Qinghuan was startled, looking at him as she instinctively asked. “Harder to talk to than you?”

Shi Yuhuan didn’t respond to her, just gave her a cryptic smile, leaving Song Qinghuan thoroughly confused.

As they reached the top of the stairs and were just about to step into the hallway, the door to the study opened and a young man walked out with ease. 𝖓𝔬𝖛𝔭𝔲𝖇.𝔠𝔬𝖒

When he turned around to close the door and lifted his eyes to see Shi Yuhuan, his initially smiling face suddenly turned stiff, and he stopped in his tracks.

What a bewitching man, was Song Qinghuan’s first thought upon seeing him.

The man was very handsome, with a pair of enticing peach blossom eyes, a high nose, bright lips, white teeth. His facial features were simply perfect, even more exquisite than a girl’s, and his demeanor was just as gentle.

If not for the Adam’s apple in his throat, she might really have mistaken him for a woman.

After pausing for a moment, the man then gracefully approached them.

All the while, Shi Yuhuan continued to ignore him, brushing past him as though he were invisible, with Song Qinghuan in tow.

“Shi Yuhuan, have you finally decided to switch gears?” Suddenly, the man’s satin-smooth and sonorous voice rose behind them like the song of a siren.

Shi Yuhuan ignored him, continuing forward with Song Qinghuan.

However, Song Qinghuan couldn’t resist the curiosity and took a quick look back over her shoulder.

At that moment, she met the man’s gaze.

In that instant of eye contact, Song Qinghuan had an unsettling impression. The captivating man looked amused, a cold, charming smile crossing his face.

The smile was beautiful, but to Song Qinghuan, it put her strangely in mind of a shattered poppy.

It could take a life!
