Chapter 181: 181, A family feast at the Shi Family,
Li Qianze’s mouth twitched: “Everyone knows this except Han Qianqian. She was so infatuated with your husband. But really, she’s not a bad person, just a bit overbearing at times.”
Song Qinghuan chuckled: “I can feel that too, so I don’t hate her. But Si Chen, I really dislike him. He always gives me a strange feeling.”
Li Qianze sighed: “Even from the sidelines, they seemed odd. I do not know what happened. My biological older brother might know something. He will also be present at the family dinner today, but don’t ask him anything. Even if he knew something, he won’t tell you. I’ve asked him before, but he told me to mind my own business. My own brother, unaffected by the situation, always distances himself.”
Song Qinghuan tilted her head and looked at him: “Isn’t it a Shi Family banquet? Why would you and your brother attend?”
Li Qianze chuckled: “It seems I haven’t told you this yet, but I call your husband’s grandfather Uncle Grandfather.”
Song Qinghuan laughed too: “So you mean, your grandmother and Shi Yuhuan’s grandfather were siblings.”
“Yes, distant relatives, slightly related.”
“Well, that’s a bit complicated. However, having a large family seems quite nice.”
“This matter is a double-edged sword. It’s hard to say.”
“…”
The two cheerfully chatted about everything related to the Shi Family. The car drive was slower than the journey out there, but it felt faster. Before they knew it, they had returned to Shi Country Villa.
Upon returning to the main house of the villa, they saw a large group of men and women either sitting or standing, dressed splendidly.
At the entrance, an attractive man noticed Song Qinghuan and Li Qianze entering together and immediately teased, “Qianze, is this your new girlfriend?”
Li Qianze gave him a contemptuous glance, then laughed: “Shi Wen, if you have no discernment, don’t speak wildly. Anybody can tell that this beautiful woman is my brother’s wife.”
Shi Wen smirked sarcastically: “Your brother got married? Didn’t the wedding get ruined?”
Ignoring him, Li Qianze led Song Qinghuan inside, grumbling resentfully: “Such a disgusting person. If my biological brother were here, he wouldn’t dare to breathe too loudly.”
In a low voice, Song Qinghuan asked: “Who is he?”
Li Qianze replied: “He’s the son of the woman your husband’s second uncle keeps outside.”
This comment nearly made Song Qinghuan burst into laughter. However, she did not speak another word as they had arrived at the main hall.
All eyes turned towards them, or rather, they slid over Li Qianze and fell onto Song Qinghuan.
Song Qinghuan scanned the room and then her gaze fell onto Shi Yuhuan. He was sitting next to Shi Xiuren, in his standard black suit, his eternally frosty demeanor unchanged. He held a glass of red wine in his hand, his thin lips barely moving.
On the other side of Shi Xiuren was another man. He had a handsome face like Shi Yuhuan’s and a daunting aura that made him appear like an emperor of the night, possessing an intimidating power.
His eyes were also on her, giving her just a casual glance. His gaze was cold and authoritative, leaving no room for negligence.
Li Qianze moved to sit next to him, respectfully addressing him: “Brother!”
That made it instantly clear to Song Qinghuan. This man was Li Qianze’s biological brother – Li Chengyun.
Chengyun, inheritor of ruin – this name was insidiously powerful and domineering.
