Chapter 227: 227, concealment, represents a stronger outbreak
A near miss triggered an inevitable awkward atmosphere.
The blaring sound of the phone abruptly stopped, and the room fell into sudden silence.
Shi Yuhuan was staring at her all along, his gaze intense as though carrying a burning heat.
Illuminated by a tender sentiment, Song Qinghuan’s lips glowed a vivid red. Her cheeks were as if on fire, subtly exuding an unconscious charm.
Song Qinghuan had never seen him looking at her with such an expression.
At that moment, the fever in her cheeks seemed to ignite under his gaze.
Her heart seemed to pound as if it wasn’t hers, beating fervently.
After a pause, the phone rang again.
Shi Yuhuan reluctantly looked at Song Qinghuan. His expression concealed his feelings well, so she could not detect any change in him. He rolled over to his side, picked up his vibrating mobile from the bedside table.
He glanced lightly at Song Qinghuan, before answering the phone in a low voice, “Speak!”
The call was from Li Chengyun, regarding the shadow that had just intruded into the villa.
Shi Yuhuan’s eyes instantaneously chilled as though submerged in icy water, piercing cold.
His lashes drooped to hide the deadly intent in his eyes. Calmly, he got up and left the room.
Watching his retreating figure, Song Qinghuan, still frozen at her place, exhaled in relief.
Touching her face, she felt the intense heat. She quickly laid down in bed, close to the edge, as far away as possible from where Shi Yuhuan was supposed to sleep.
She closed her eyes, but sleep remained elusive.
Every thought was filled with the recent interaction, the aftertaste was intoxicating.
Shi Yuhuan resembled a poppy blooming in the night, enticing yet ominous.
And she was like a passerby, consciously aware of the dangers of picking a thorny poppy, but irresistibly magnetized towards him.
The phone conversation didn’t last long, and Shi Yuhuan returned shortly.
Song Qinghuan feigned sleep, but she could sense a familiar masculine presence closing in from behind.
The bed was so wide, why was he sleeping so close? Could he not shift further away a little more?
Shi Yuhuan embraced her from behind, and Song Qinghuan instantly stiffened.
She dared not move recklessly, fearful that any inadvertent movement might trigger Shi Yuhuan to make an intimate move.
He could obviously feel the person in his arms rigid as a stone.
Continuing like this, her blood would certainly clot.
Shi Yuhuan couldn’t help but feel a tad helpless towards her; he knew she was pretending to sleep.
“I won’t do anything to you tonight, but if you don’t relax, I’ll help you.” He whispered into her ear, cuddling her petite figure into his embrace.
Song Qinghuan didn’t believe his words, for she could feel something hard pressing against her.
Although she still felt unsafe, she didn’t dare not to relax.
She firmly believed that if she didn’t, he would indeed continue further.
However, after reviewing their series of interactions, she realized that though Shi Yuhuan always gave the impression of being cold and reserved, in reality, he was completely different.
Regardless of her few spells of unconsciousness, for now, she figured it was better not to provoke him. She really didn’t want to see his wild side yet.
