Chapter 229: 229, Warm, Affectionate Life
Song Qinghuan’s face turned beet red, and she almost rolled out of bed. She dashed to the bathroom and slammed the door shut behind her.
Originally, she wanted to use the bathroom right then, but it was eerily quiet and undoubtedly all sounds would be heard outside.
She was terribly embarrassed, feeling that the trickling noise of her urination could definitely be heard by anyone standing outside.
So, she turned on the tap first. Only after the sound of rushing water served as a cover, did she dare relieve herself.
When she finally ventured out, lingering and wasting some time in there, she found that Shi Yuhuan was no longer in the room.
Song Qinghuan breathed a sigh of relief, pulled open the curtains, and was immediately bathed in sunshine streaming in from outside. Warm and cozy, it was quite comfortable.
The weather was nice today, though she had no idea what time it was.
As this question flitted across her mind, Song Qinghuan jolted in surprise.
She rushed over to pick up her phone from the bedside table and uttered a cry of shock, “Ah!”
Good heavens, it was already eleven o’clock. No wonder the sunshine was so bright.
With godlike speed, Song Qinghuan changed her clothes and raced downstairs. 𝙣𝒐𝙫𝙥𝙪𝙗.𝙘𝙤𝙢
At this moment, Shi Yuhuan was just coming out of the ground-floor bathroom, wearing a white bathrobe, with some water still dripping from his hair.
As the hurried Song Qinghuan rushed past him, he outstretched his long arm, grabbed her arm, and then swung her back around until she was standing in front of him; his cold, handsome face wore a soft look as he gazed at her.
Song Qinghuan was frantic as she began to pull at his hand: “It’s eleven o’clock, I’m late, I’m late for work, I need to rush to the office.”
Shi Yuhuan parted his lips, speaking coolly, “I’ve already asked for leave on your behalf.”
Song Qinghuan froze for a moment, then chuckled, “Really?”
Shi Yuhuan let go of her hand and began drying his hair as he started heading upstairs, “I’m hungry, could you cook?”
Song Qinghuan blinked a couple of times, then silently began looking for the kitchen.
After a thorough search, she discovered that there was no kitchen in this wing of the villa.
Good heavens, what a let-down. No wonder Shi Yuhuan always had to go to the main villa to eat.
After having spent a night there, and now in broad daylight, Song Qinghuan felt less fear walking back to the main villa.
Though initially, she was a little nervous.
But when Shi Yuhuan came back and turned on the TV in the living room, the sounds drifting to her ears reassured her.
Song Qinghuan’s cooking skills were passable, neither particularly good nor especially bad.
She tended to cook based on her mood. As someone with no particular love for cooking, she could whip up delectable meals when she was in high spirits.
However, when her mood was off, the dishes lacked flavor comparatively.
“Dinner’s ready.” Song Qinghuan emerged from the kitchen holding a steaming dish and placed it on the dining table.
Shi Yuhuan rose from the couch. Looking at Song Qinghuan as she brought dish after dish to the table, he noted that while they were simple home-cooked meals, they were both fragrant and visually appealing; he didn’t even need to take a bite to know they would be delicious.
It appeared that Song Qinghuan was in an especially good mood today.
Suddenly, Shi Yuhuan headed towards the kitchen.
Song Qinghuan assumed he was going to get a bowl, but to her surprise, he went in to fetch the soup.
“You…” Song Qinghuan watched him in astonishment and then swallowed hard, “Aren’t your hands burning?”
Although the soup had cooled for a while after being poured out of the hot pot, when Song Qinghuan had tried to hold the bowl earlier, she felt a bit of heat initially. Yet holding it for a while longer, it was searing hot.
