Chapter 253: 253. The difference between a supplementary card and a bank card

Chapter 253: 253. The difference between a supplementary card and a bank card

Shi Yuhuan swiftly dodged her assault, revealing his foul mood, as his deep, black eyes stared without warmth at Song Qinghuan.

Song Qinghuan returned his stare, hoping to discern something in his eyes, wondering why he gave her a bank card instead of an affiliate card.

But his inscrutable eyes revealed nothing, save for their dark depth, from which nothing could be gleaned.

“Shi Yuhuan, listen to me, I, Song Qinghuan, might not have any money, but I would never sell myself. I have no need for your money! Also, I never intended to allure you. Any fantasies I might have had about you have long been crushed. Right now, I despise you. I want to keep my distance from you, and I’d appreciate it if you would also avoid me. Take your bank card and get out of my sight!”

As Song Qinghuan spoke, scorching tears slid from her eyes, gathered on her chin, and splattered on the ground with a “splatter” sound.

She wouldn’t allow anyone to insult her like this. Who did this damn Shi Yuhuan think she was?

The sound of the pouring rain could not drown her indignant voice in the tumultuous stormy day.

The atmosphere in the room was colder than ice.

Suddenly, Song Qinghuan turned around and stomped up the stairs.

Without any hesitation, she returned to her room to pack. It wasn’t the first time she had run away from home, and it wouldn’t make much difference if she did it again.

No, this wasn’t her home; she was just an unwanted guest.

She packed a couple of clothes and her cell phone, ready to leave. Remembering Shi Yuhuan still sitting in the living room, unpredictable as he was, she had no idea if he might suddenly lose it and stop her from leaving.

The second floor wasn’t high. Since Zishi could climb up from below, Song Qinghuan opened the floor-to-ceiling window, hopped out, and headed off without looking back.

As she got into the taxi, despite having an umbrella, she was still half-soaked.

She gave the driver Mei Jun’s address, then took out her phone, intending to call Mei Jun.

As she pressed the power button, she saw several messages from Lu Meiyan — three in total.

“Stupid girl, why aren’t you answering the phone? Is the money ready? I won’t ask for more, just two million. If you don’t give me, I’ll make a scene at your company.”

“Huanhuan, don’t blame mother. I have no other choice.”

“You’re not picking up calls or responding to my messages. Huanhuan, don’t be heartless. I can also be unforgiving.”

Biting her lip, Song Qinghuan scoffed in her heart. This was the woman she had been calling ‘mother’ for over twenty years. Was she really her biological mother?

She might value her son as a gem and daughters as grass. But was that a reason to torment her this way?

Money, money, money. One demanded money from her while another suddenly offered it. Both situations suffocated her.

If the message hadn’t been marked as unread, the coincidence might have made her believe Shi Yuhuan had seen the message and that’s why he gave her the money.

But she was sure that wasn’t the case. If it were, then why was he hiding it from her? Shi Yuhuan was just trying to humiliate her by offering her money.

It’s a headache, what should she do now? If she doesn’t give Lu Meiyan the money, she really might create a stir at her workplace, where her identity isn’t known yet.

If she had accepted Shi Yuhuan’s money just now, wouldn’t all these problems be resolved?

But she couldn’t! That cold and aloof man always looked down on her. She couldn’t risk losing whatever respect was left for her in his eyes.
