Chapter 277: 277, Love? Not love.

Chapter 277: 277, Love? Not love.

Just as Song Qinghuan was about to ask what had happened, Shi Yuhuan suddenly sat up.

She returned to her usual aloofness, quickly and efficiently getting dressed, without looking back she said to Song Qinghuan, “No matter what happens outside, stay in here. Do not come out.”

With that, he opened the door and walked out. On the couch outside the room sat a figure, lounging leisurely with an air of elegance.

Shi Yuhuan cast a cool glance at the man sitting on the couch, his expression indifferent, as if he were regarding nothing more than a stranger.

Outside, all was silent and still for a long time. 𝓃ℴ𝓋𝓹𝓊𝓫.𝒸𝓸𝓂

But Song Qinghuan felt a suffocating presence.

The soundproofing equipment in this hotel was so good, she could not hear a single sound.

Curiosity killed the cat.

Finally, she could not bear it any longer, and quietly got out of bed to go to the door.

She first pressed her ear to the door, but she could not hear anything.

Then, she gently opened a crack in the door, and sound promptly seeped through.

She heard a somewhat familiar voice, “I don’t know why you married that woman, but I know there’s nothing between you two and even if there was, you don’t love her. So there’s no need to risk your life for her.”

The voice was Si Chen’s. Song Qinghuan peered with surprise through the slit and indeed spotted Si Chen on the couch.

Why would he be here?

And what is his relationship with Shi Yuhuan? Doesn’t he passionately hate Shi Yuhuan? Wasn’t he always at odds with Shi Yuhuan? Why is he suddenly so concerned about Shi Yuhuan?

Advising Shi Yuhuan not to risk his life for her, a total stranger!

The cold voice of Shi Yuhuan then rang out: “This is my business, and if I remember correctly, I told you never to show your face to me again.”

With an injured look, Si Chen retorted, “Do you really hate me that much? You’re injured, I’m just…”

However, his words were cut short by Shi Yuhuan: “Get lost. You should know the consequences of angering me.”

Si Chen stood up but made no move to leave.

His eyes were filled with sadness as he looked at Shi Yuhuan. After a long hesitation, he finally asked, “Have you fallen in love with this woman?”

Shi Yuhuan remained silent, not even bothering to acknowledge him with a glance.

“I once helped you, and you said you owed me a favor. Now I want that favor returned.” Si Chen persisted.

Shi Yuhuan finally lifted his gaze to meet Si Chen’s.

Si Chen clenched his fists, his breath unsteady: “Using your deepest feelings, repay me this favor. No lies. Have you fallen in love with Song Qinghuan?”

After a moment’s silence, Shi Yuhuan spoke with a cold voice: “No!!”

Seeming satisfied with the response, Si Chen smirked, said no more, turned on his heel, and strode off.

Watching Shi Yuhuan turn his back on Si Chen with an air of contempt, Song Qinghuan quickly returned to bed with quiet steps.

Soon enough, Shi Yuhuan’s footsteps stopped outside the door, and the door swung open.

Song Qinghuan buried herself in her quilt, her heart being torn into pieces, bleeding profusely.

Excruciating pain spread from the ends of her nerves to every cell of her body.

Her eyes stung, as though something has poked them. Though she was firm and had no desire to cry,

tears still rushed forth, soaking her face instantly.
