A stately figure stood by the window, his back to the dazzling lights outside, silently staring at his office desk.
Above his computer screen, there were four squares, each displaying footage from surveillance.
After seeing Song Qinghuan return to the 60th floor, he turned towards the window, serene yet austere, his facial profile deep and cold.
Soon, Chen Tian knocked on the door and entered at his consent.
Shi Yuhuan turned around, sat in his ample leather chair and watched as Chen Tian opened the documents he was holding and placed a pile of photos on the desk.
“Boss, these are the surveillance video stills related to your wife that you requested,” Chen Tian began, one by one spreading out the photographs under Shi Yuhuan’s scrutinizing gaze.
He pointed at one of the photos, a picture of Song Qinghuan in the office, and said, “Your wife was in your office at this time.”
Shii Yuhuan’s eyes narrowed sharply. As he had suspected, the information was indeed accurate, but it wasn’t sent by Song Qinghuan.
Each time Song Qinghuan visited his office, she came under the pretense of signing paperwork and, in doing so, would not bring her phone with her, nor could she do so.
Therefore, her phone should have been left on her own desk.
He asked dismissively, “So, who moved her stuff off her desk at that time?”
Chen Tian laid out three photos, saying gravely, “Because there are no cameras installed in the department office, and only part of the view is available from the external ones, it’s hard to determine who took her phone off her desk. We only know that a few people passed her desk around the time the message was sent.”
The time in question was right before and after the message was sent.
Pointing individually at each photograph, Chen Tian stated, “One is Mi Xue, then Zhang Miaolong, and the last is Bai Rubing, your wife’s friend. Generally, Bai is less likely to be involved, but…”
But human minds are fickle and instances of friends stabbing each other in the back are not uncommon.
“Have someone tail those three. Find out who’s behind this, no matter what!”
Shi Yuhuan ordered indifferently, his deep voice carrying a hint of murderous intent.

Song Qinghuan sat at her desk, staring sullenly at her computer, pondering so hard she could nearly break her head. Who could have sent the text message? 𝓃𝓸𝓋𝓹𝓾𝓫.𝒸ℴ𝓶
When she was on the rooftop, she had called Mei Jun, who was convinced that someone in the company maintaining a good relationship with Song Qinghuan was to blame.
Yu Yang and Bai Rubing? Song Qinghuan found it hard to believe; after all, both of them had been so good to her.
Mei Jun said, “Beware even in times of peace. Remember, the workplace is like a harem. You’ve seen The Legend of Zhen Huan. There’s no place for innocence. Always keep your guard up!”
Song Qinghuan agreed with Mei Jun’s point. She always treated people in this manner – while not despairing of anyone, she continued to be on guard.
But Yu Yang and Bai Rubing, one a jokester, the other soft and kind, they just didn’t seem like suspects.
As she analyzed all her encounters with these three people, she couldn’t find anything amiss. Even if they weren’t as close as Mei Jun and her, they were still good friends without a doubt.
Apart from disbelief, she was also somewhat reluctant to believe it was them.
She believed that whoever it was, just like herself, wouldn’t want to question a friend’s character without concrete evidence.
Everyone was working overtime, grumbling nonstop, but luckily they didn’t have to work till midnight.
Around 9pm, everyone received the notification that they could leave work. Everyone happily packed up and left, discussing where to go shopping and play during their day off.
