Chapter 384: 384, Indifference, passionate or unfeeling
After leaving the ice cellar, Song Qinghuan went through a period of fever and cough. After sleeping groggily for three days, she finally recovered.
During this time, Auntie He took care of her. Occasionally, Jin Lin would visit her, chat for a bit, then throw a couple of sarcastic comments.
Song Qinghuan figured out that Jin Lin is not a bad person deep down, just a bit sharp-tongued.
She thought that Shi Yuhuan must have inherited this sharp tongue from his mother. Look how much of a gentleman Shi Annuo is, always speaking more praises than criticisms.
During these days, Shi Yuhuan didn’t appear once, didn’t even come to visit her once.
He simply ordered Auntie He to take good care of her.
Of course, this was what Auntie He told her, who knows if it was true?
Angry at the thought, Song Qinghuan felt that, after experiencing life and death, Shi Yuhuan, as her husband, should be by her side at this moment.
She knew his personality and didn’t expect him to comfort her with sweet words. She just wanted him to be there with her.
But, he was nowhere to be found, always busy with something.
To be honest, she was a bit angry. Is this how a husband should act? So irresponsible.
But knowing that he was busy, she was upset but understanding.
A week passed, and Shi Yuhuan still didn’t come home. That day, the weather was great, with a warm sun appearing in the sky.
Song Qinghuan lay on a rocking chair in the lawn, basking in the sun. Zishi was lying by her side, guarding her. As she soaked up the sun, she drifted off contentedly to sleep.
When Shi Yuhuan returned, he saw Song Qinghuan sleeping peacefully under the sun.
Even though there was sunshine, it was still winter after all.
Afraid that she would get a chill, Shi Yuhuan instinctively took off his coat, wanting to gently cover her with it.
But he suddenly recollected something, and immediately withdrew.
The sunlight shone on her pale little face, which appeared nearly translucent, as if it could disappear at any time. A flash of heartache slipped through Shi Yuhuan’s eyes as he abruptly turned around.
Just then, Song Qinghuan woke up and saw the tall figure in front of her.
Almost without thinking, she blurted out, “Shi Yuhuan.”
Shi Yuhuan suddenly stopped, but he did not turn back.
Song Qinghuan stood up, laughing, and walked over to him. She wrapped her arm around his, complaining sweetly, “You’re back. What have you been up to these past few days? Why did you take so long to come home?”
Upon hearing this, Shi Yuhuan glanced at her indifferently.
Then, his long arm, as if carrying the weight of Mount Everest, moved slowly but heavily, withdrawing from her grasp.
Song Qinghuan looked up at him, her expression somewhat bewildered, as though she couldn’t comprehend what was happening.
“Hmm.” After Shi Yuhuan withdrew his hand, he responded coldly and then headed towards the villa in the back.
It was as if Song Qinghuan, who had just wrapped her arm around his, was just a stranger to him.
Such cold removal, not taking with it a single shred of warmth, leaving behind icy air.
Song Qinghuan almost shivered from the cold, unable to recover.
A sense of emptiness spread in her heart. She gazed blankly as Shi Yuhuan left, then looked down at her dismissed hand, feeling like she would never be able to hold on to him.
What on earth happened?
Could it be that he is still angry about the incident with Zhan Cheng, hence his indifference?
Song Qinghuan bit her lip, feeling a sharp pain in her heart.
Why won’t he believe her? There’s really nothing between her and Zhan Cheng. She didn’t send that text message!
