Chapter 389: 389, the untold sorrow.

Song Qinghuan’s face turned stark white, the tightly wound string in her mind abruptly snapped!

She looked at him, eyes full of shock and disbelief. “But you… but you… why didn’t you say so earlier, why did you let me misunderstand?”

Shi Yuhuan stared at her astonished and incredulous face, a cold smile on his lips, yet his voice was filled with mockery. “Because I thought it was fun to see you misunderstanding, but now I don’t find it interesting anymore.”

“Fun? Not interesting anymore?” Song Qinghuan’s lips moved weakly, but she could say no words.

She felt as if she were paralyzed, unable to move at all.

Yet her body felt so cold, shivering uncontrollably.

“You…” She looked at Shi Yuhuan, her eyes trembling slightly, shook her head, “You are not like this, I won’t believe…”

Her pale lips whispered lightly, her breath wavering, her voice trembling, slightly hoarse.

It seemed like she was trying to argue against his words, and yet she was also telling herself, repeating his name with clear enunciation, as if under a spell. “Shi Yuhuan, you’re not like this, why did you say these things, what is happening to you? What in the world happened?”

Shi Yuhuan stared at her wordlessly, suddenly his lips curled into a smile, yet it was as if he was mocking her.

Then, he stood up, cold and elegant. “You’ve said all you needed to say, now go to sleep.”

Having said this, he turned without emotion, ready to leave.

It felt as though someone had plunged a knife into her heart, the pain causing her to bleed.

With tears welling in her eyes, Song Qinghuan reluctantly stood up and followed him, grabbing his sleeve from behind, her voice breaking with despair. “Shi Yuhuan…”

In saying so, she was telling him not to fool around anymore, warning him that she would really get upset if he did.

Shi Yuhuan stopped, looked at her, but remained silent.

Song Qinghuan held onto his clothes tightly, almost choking from his words.

She was breathless, like a beggar holding onto his sleeves tightly, shaking her head, whispering, “You’re not like this, I know… is it because of Zhan Cheng? I promise you, if he ever contacts me again, I’ll tell you right away, can you please not be angry?”

Shi Yuhuan looked at her coldly, then slowly shifted his gaze away.

He seemingly smiled, his long, cold fingers gently detached Song Qinghuan’s hand from him. He spoke in an annoyed manner, “It seems I might have gone too far and made an irremovable mistake. I’ve been so cold to you, you should understand everything by now. We are all adults, we should know some rules of the game. It’s time to stop when it’s time to stop, being stubbornly obsessive will only lead to resentment.”

His words struck her like thunder, exploding in her heart. She could hear the sound of her own heart shattering.

A crushing pain came from her heart, pressing down on her nerves, quickly spreading through her entire body. It was unbearable, leaving her dizzy. She could no longer stand, her legs gave way, and she collapsed onto the ground.

Hot, burning tears welled up in her eyes, her face alarmingly pale. She looked at him in fright, opening her mouth to speak, but found herself speechless!

Shi Yuhuan’s handsome face turned pale. His hand that had been pushing her away stopped in mid-air, as if he subconsciously wanted to help her up.

His eyes held a choking pain, but he moved them away, taking a step forward without hesitation, opening the heavy door and leaving.

If he stayed any longer, he knew he wouldn’t have the heart to leave. It had already been painful enough, there’s no point in sabotaging everything now.
