Chapter 438: 438, The Gentlest Treatment

“Where are they?” Shi Yihan asked softly.

Chen Tian replied, “At the suburban villa. Do you want to go there now, Boss?”

Upon hearing this, Shi Yihan instinctively turned his head to look at Song Qinghuan, meeting her gaze.

Slightly taken aback, he then walked towards her and ordered Chen Tian, “Let Dr. Chen in.”

Chen Tian nodded and left, while Shi Yihan immediately went to the bed, helped her sit up, and said with a hint of surprise in his voice, “You’re finally awake. Do you feel discomfort anywhere? Do you still feel dizzy?”

Song Qinghuan closed her eyes, took a moment to feel her condition and replied with a faint smile, “No, I think I’m fine.”

Even though she said she was fine, when the doctor came, Shi Yihan had him thoroughly examine Song Qinghuan.

It was only after the doctor confirmed that she had no trace of residual poison in her system and was showing signs of improvement, that he was finally able to breathe a sigh of relief.

After the doctor left, Shi Yihan sat by the bed, took Song Qinghuan’s hand and gently brushed the back of it with his fingertips.

He seemed to have something to say, yet the words that came out after a long pause were rather mundane, “Are you thirsty? Do you want some water?”

“Yes!” Song Qinghuan nodded her head.

Shi Yihan immediately got up to pour her a glass of water. After she finished drinking, he asked softly, “Do you want to eat something? Should I ask Aunt He to prepare some food?”

Song Qinghuan shook her head, “I don’t feel like eating.”

She wasn’t feeling hungry after having an IV drip.

“Okay, then you should rest a bit,” Shi Yihan suggested, without any intention of sitting back down.

Song Qinghuan extended her hand from under the quilt to lightly tug at Shi Yihan’s sleeve.

He looked down, his gaze unwavering. He then looked at Song Qinghuan, touched her hair gently and asked softly, “What’s wrong?”

Song Qinghuan, looking weak and lonely as a sick child, pleaded, “Can you please not be mean to me today? Can you stay with me, even if just to sleep? I don’t want to be alone right now.”

She’ll never forget the last time she was kidnapped and didn’t see Shi Yihan for days. When she finally saw him, all that was left was brutality and coldness.

She was still scared.

If she must endure it once more, she wished to have a moment of warmth beforehand.

Taken slightly aback, Shi Yihan stared into Song Qinghuan’s clear eyes, as shiny as glass beads, and suddenly felt his nose tingling and his eyes seemed to be attacked by a wave of heat.

He dropped his gaze, and after concealing his turbulent emotions, Shi Yihan lay down next to her and wrapped his arm around her delicate waist.

Song Qinghuan immediately nestled up to him, burying her face in his chest, and then slowly closed her eyes.

But she didn’t sleep.

Of course, Shi Yihan didn’t sleep either. They just lay there, quietly holding each other.

After a while, he softly spoke, “You were scared, weren’t you? Don’t worry, nobody will ever treat you like this again.”

Upon hearing this, Song Qinghuan felt a pang in her heart, “Really? It doesn’t seem likely at all. What exactly does the Shi Family do? Why does it feel like an ancient palace filled with intrigues where one could easily fall into traps and die without knowing how.”

“From now on, you will never go back to the Shi Country Villa,” Shi Yihan gently said, thinking to sort out everything before taking her back.

However, Song Qinghuan misinterpreted his words, thinking that they were soon going to get a divorce, so there was no need for her to return.
