Chapter 53: 53. Wishing to hide, but unable to.

Shi Annuo swiveled around twice in his office chair before dialing the extension for the human resources manager. 𝒏𝒐𝒗𝒑𝒖𝙗.𝒄𝒐𝒎

After the call was connected, he simply instructed, “Come to my office,” and promptly ended the call.

The CEO wants to see him?

Zhao Jingnan slightly furrowed his brows, uncertain of what the issue could be.

Before entering Shi Annuo’s office, he asked Shi Annuo’s secretary and found out that Wang Yiling had just been there.

He thought for a moment, supposing it might involve Song Qinghuan.

However, upon seeing Shi Annuo, he pretended ignorance and asked politely and respectfully, “Mr. CEO, what can I do for you?”

Shi Annuo twirled the pen in his hand and looked at Zhao Jingnan. His tone was seemingly nonchalant, yet it held a sort of interrogatory undertone, “Do you know about last night’s incident?”

Zhao Jingnan nodded: “Yes, I do.”

Shi Annuo slightly raised his eyebrows: “Then why did you keep her on board? It was you who introduced her to the company, wasn’t it?”

“No!” Zhao Jingnan quickly shook his head, “She wasn’t introduced by me.”

“Then why did you support her and refuse to let her go? You should know she offended, not just any client,” Shi Annuo’s gaze turned cold as he asked seriously.

Zhao Jingnan thought for a while, then explained, “I’ve already looked into this. That client was really over the line that night. He took advantage of the moment when Manager Wang left to make a call, to behave improperly towards Song Qinghuan. After all, it was her first official day at work and she doesn’t have much experience. Understandably she reacted poorly out of shock and anger, so…”

Shi Annuo’s pupils slightly constricted, countering, “Mr. Zhao, even if you’ve never tasted pork, you should’ve seen a pig run. She must be aware of the nature of her role in the PR department. Being accompanying, she should know how to handle, how to converse. It’s a public place and any person with a bit of sense would know that the most the other party could do is take petty advantage, but dare not do anything openly forceful. Even if she didn’t understand such a simple matter, how could you not understand it?”

“Plop.” A drop of sweat trickled down Zhao Jingnan’s forehead.

Shi Annuo’s words were unclear, but the meaning was quite clear – he wanted Song Qinghuan fired!

But Song Qinghuan was someone IPO backed. How could he, Zhao Jingnan, dare to fire her?

However, with the CEO pressing, what should he do?

Does the CEO know Song Qinghuan was brought in by the big boss? Should he inform the CEO and inform the big boss about this promptly or keep it a secret?

Seeing Zhao Jingnan silent, Shi Annuo’s expression completely darkened: “What? Mr. Zhao, do I need to handle such trifles myself?”

“Mr. CEO, never!” Zhao Jingnan quickly voiced out, then muttered in a smaller voice, “In fact, I am also aware that this incident has negatively impacted the company. Song Qinghuan should be let go. However, Song Qinghuan is a special recruit by the president. I can’t fire her, I can’t.”
