Chapter 572: 572, jealousy, insane jealousy

Chapter 572: 572, jealousy, insane jealousy

His profound and icy eyes slowly lifted, looking at the woman in front of him. His thin, handsome and elegant lips gently opened, uttering a few tender, but utterly cold words: “Whether she’s here or not, I won’t be with you.”

A melancholic and bitter smile appeared on Zhan Jie’s face, she looked at him and said, “If that’s the case, then why were you so ambiguous with me, Shi Yuhan? Don’t tell me you didn’t intentionally deceive me.”

Tears glistened in her eyes as she whispered, “You knew I liked you, that I’ve always loved you. Yet, you intentionally misled me. Why did you do that?”

Shi Yuhuan looked down at her without expression, his thin lips pressed into a line. He coldly withdrew his gaze and turned to her, “No reason.”

“Were you trying to provoke Song Qinghuan, to make her fall in love with you?” Hot tears fell down her face. This was the only explanation Zhan Jie could think of.

The other possible explanation was too cruel for her to acknowledge.

“No, it doesn’t have anything to do with her,” he said coolly, turning his back towards Zhan Jie.

A cold shiver ran up her spine and Zhan Jie’s body felt frozen, she looked up at him.

The possibility she didn’t want to acknowledge became increasingly clearer in her heart, making her face paler.

She smiled lightly, though it felt as cold as ice, she managed to rasp, “… then, was there any sincerity in our time together, even if just a bit of sincerity towards me?”

Shi Yuhuan didn’t respond. He just walked away.

To him, sincerity was as scarce as the world’s rarest treasures and too precious to be squandered.

A bitter smile escaped Zhan Jie and a tear slid down her cheek.

She sobbed softly in despair, her heartbreak was such that she felt like a soul condemned to the eighteen layers of hell with no hope of reincarnation.

Some time after Shi Yuhuan left, a woman pushed the door open and entered about ten minutes later.

She sat beside the bed, looking at the furious Zhan Jie and said, “Do you believe it now, he did all this to protect Song Qinghuan. He got close to you, treated you well to mislead his enemies into thinking that you were his weakness, the one he cared for, then they kidnapped you, causing you to end up injured in the hospital.”

“Bai Rubing, who let you in again? Get out!” Zhan Jie stared at her with tear-filled eyes.

This woman was indeed Bai Rubing. After leaving Times Group, she had applied to several other companies.

Normally, several companies would be hiring at the end of the year and with her wealth of experience, finding a job should have been easy.

For some reason, however, none of the multiple companies she applied for gave her any response.

What was going on? Where was the problem? With her experience at Times Group, she should have been a hot commodity, with companies fighting over her.

But why didn’t she even get one interview opportunity?

She was confused and so she went to one of the companies where she had submitted her resume to inquire about it. Only then did she find out that someone had secretly intervened, which was why no one dared to invite her for an interview.

The moment Bai Rubing found out, she knew it was all Song Qinghuan’s doing.

It must have been Song Qinghuan who influenced Shi Yuhuan, resulting in him putting in the word. If not, she wouldn’t have been shunned by these companies, like some homeless dog.

It had to be. It simply had to be.

Bai Rubing was filled with resentment. At the same time, she was envious of Song Qinghuan, madly jealous!
