Chapter 593: 593, She is tired and weary.
Upon hearing that the child was fine, Song Qinghuan turned her head up, closed her eyes, and no longer looked at Shi Yuhuan. 𝓷ℴ𝓿𝓅𝓊𝒷.𝓬𝓸𝓂
She was grateful that the child was unharmed. If anything had happened to the child because of him, she would never forgive him in her lifetime.
“Huanhuan…” Shi Yuhuan grasped her hand, and gently asked, “Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?”
She closed her eyes, didn’t utter a word, just gently slid her hand out of his.
Shi Yuhuan’s expression stiffened. His heart abruptly clenched in pain.
He paused and said, “I’ll have the doctor come in to check on you, lie down for a bit.”
Song Qinghuan remained silent, not knowing if she was sleeping with her eyes closed.
Soon after, the doctor came in and performed a simple check on Song Qinghuan. Both mother and child were confirmed fine, but the baby’s position was unstable, and she needed to be hospitalized for observation.
After the doctor left, Shi Yuhuan sat by her bed again. He took a cotton swab, moistened it, and lightly dabbed it on Song Qinghuan’s lips. He softly asked, “Would you like some water?”
Song Qinghuan: “…”
Her heart was weary, exceedingly weary. She did not want to deal with Shi Yuhuan at all.
Shi Yuhuan asked again, “Are you hungry? Should I have Aunt He cook some soup for you?”
After waiting for a while, Song Qinghuan still didn’t say a word.
Shi Yuhuan looked at her peaceful sleep face, thought for a while, then said solemnly, “You have every right to be angry. I should have protected you better.”
How could she dare to blame him? He was supposed to protect her, wasn’t he supposed to protect Zhan Jie?
He cared so much about Zhan Jie; his eyes were filled with only her, unwilling to even spare a glance at herself.
Song Qinghuan finally slowly opened her eyes, her gaze fell on Shi Yuhuan’s face. Her swollen red eyes were filled with regret as she hoarsely whispered, “Shi Yuhuan, I regret it.”
She was speaking so softly that Shi Yuhuan couldn’t hear her clearly.
A faint smile curled up at the corners of his lips. Shi Yuhuan turned his face towards her and asked huskily, “What did you say?”
Song Qinghuan’s eyelashes quivered. Her voice was louder than before, but still raspy, “I said I regret it!”
The smile on Shi Yuhuan’s face froze.
Song Qinghuan continued, her voice carried a tone of utter resignation, “I regret being such a fool, stupidly watching over you as I loved you. I never received a single response from you, and yet you played with me like I was a fool.”
Shi Yuhuan lowered his gaze to look directly at her, as if he was trying to see through to her thoughts at this very moment.
A brief moment of complex tension flashed across his eyes. Shi Yuhuan suddenly stood up straight, avoiding Song Qinghuan’s gaze, “You should rest well after surviving this ordeal. Sleep for a while, I’ll ask Aunt He to prepare some soup.”
Song Qinghuan seemed exhausted, calling out his name weakly, “Shi Yuhuan!”
Shi Yuhuan gently looked at her, lowered his head tenderly, and gave a gentle, longing kiss on her forehead, “I’m here, lie down obediently. I’ll be back soon.”
“Let’s get a divorce.”
Saying these words, Song Qinghuan felt like it was the most lucid and liberating moment in her more than two decades of life.
Shi Yuhuan was taken aback for a moment, then he gently placed his hand on Song Qinghuan’s abdomen and smiled gently, “You’re a mother now, the child is good and obedient.”
He assumed that Song Qinghuan was just throwing a tantrum. He hadn’t taken in a word about divorce. Even if he had heard her, he wouldn’t take it seriously.
Divorce would never be an option in this lifetime!
