Chapter 596: 596, tell me seriously, why?

Chapter 596: 596, tell me seriously, why?

Song Qinghuan gave her a faint smile, “Thank you, we have already cooled down. Can you please process this for us?”

The older woman glanced at Song Qinghuan, then at Shi Yuhuan.

Seeing Shi Yuhuan’s face was as indifferent as snow, expressionless and giving off an aura of ‘stay away’, she decided not to persuade them anymore.

She replied, “Hand me the documents then, I will process it.”

Song Qinghuan, puzzled, asked, “What documents?”

The woman’s face became stony, tsking, “Marriage certificate, of course. You surely didn’t think a divorce is just about two people showing up here, without needing anything else.”

Song Qinghuan pressed her lips together, looking slightly embarrassed.

Clearly, she thought that just showing up would suffice for the divorce.

She glanced at Shi Yuhuan and softly asked, “Where’s the marriage certificate?”

Both copies of their marriage certificates were with him. He had claimed to keep them safe, so she hadn’t taken any.

Shi Yuhuan maintained his tight-lipped silence throughout, his handsome face pale and strained, his gaze firmly fixed on her.

Suddenly, the tension and coldness in his eyes faded, replaced by an elegant laziness and playful mockery.

He chuckled softly, “Huanhuan, is this fun? Does playing this game a second time feel different?”

Song Qinghuan stiffened, wondering what fun he was talking about. Clearly, she didn’t understand what Shi Yuhuan was implying.

The staff member standing by understood in an instant though.

The older woman became angry, slamming a hand on the desk, “What is wrong with you youngsters, wasting time playing games here in the Civil Affairs Bureau. I should call the police.”

Song Qinghuan jumped out of her skin, turning beet red the moment she finally caught on.

Desperate to get away and overcome with embarrassment, she quickly dragged Shi Yuhuan out of there.

Once they reached the parking lot, she turned to berate Shi Yuhuan, “What has gotten into you, saying such things! Who will help us process this now?”

Shi Yuhuan’s cold, dark eyes, filled with stormy winds.

His hand gripping Song Qinghuan’s shoulder, squeezing so tight that her bones hurt, his strength seemingly attempting to crush her, “Song Qinghuan!”

Shi Yuhuan’s voice was not loud, but it was gravely cold, suppressing anger, even a hint of volatility, “Had enough of your tantrum yet? I know you’re moody because of your pregnancy. No matter what you want, I will oblige. But what’s the meaning of dragging me here without saying a word? You think about getting a divorce, I tell you to forget it.”

Song Qinghuan was taken aback. It had been a while since she had seen Shi Yuhuan so angry. She was a bit scared, and fell silent.

Shi Yuhuan looked down at her, silently brooding, his eyelashes fluttering, seemingly at a loss for words.

His heart unexpectedly softened.

He let out a long breath, and his tone became gentler. His hand habitually ruffled her hair, “Whatever it is, let’s discuss it at home. It’s windy. You should not be standing for too long.”

Song Qinghuan sidestepped to avoid his hand.

Then, she looked into Shi Yuhuan’s eyes and seriously and solemnly said, “Shi Yuhuan, I’m not messing around with you, I’m not throwing a temper tantrum. I’m serious about divorcing you, I don’t want to continue this any further.”

A glint of bloodthirsty coldness flitted across Shi Yuhuan’s eyes.

With his eyes half-closed, Shi Yuhuan twirled a strand of her hair around his finger, pulling her into his arms as if to force her to calm down, as if also forcing himself, “Then you tell me, sincerely. Why do you want a divorce? Why can’t you continue any further?”
