Chapter 728: 728, Mutation, Life Hanging by a Thread
As soon as the plane deviated from the airway, an alarm sounded. Xia Yang rose to his feet immediately as the alarm blared.
He left his seat and moved towards the communication area, opening a line to the cockpit. “Xiaozhuang, what’s going on? Why is the plane’s alarm going off?” he asked.
“…” Xiaozhuang, in the cockpit, didn’t reply.
The plane started to shake violently at that moment. Sensing something was off, Xia Yang immediately made his way to the cockpit.
Inside the plane, it wasn’t just the alarm that was intensifying. The lights flickered erratically, indicating that parts of the plane had been tampered with.
Shi Yuhuan also stood up but maintained his cool composure.
Xia Yang kicked open the cockpit door just in time to see Xiaozhuang trying to damage a crucial part of the plane’s mechanism.
“What are you up to, Xiaozhuang?” Xia Yang shouted as he ran towards him. His gleaming dagger flew out of its sheath like an arrow in the wind, piercing Xiaozhuang’s right hand and halting his actions.
“Ah!” cried Xiaozhuang, attempting to damage the equipment again with his left hand.
Xia Yang lunged towards him and grabbed Xiaozhuang’s hand, who retaliated with a powerful kick.
Xia Yang’s eyes turned icy instantly. As he sprang into the air, he pulled his dagger out of Xiaozhuang’s hand.
Using the plane’s sidewalls, Xia Yang pushed himself back and lunged at Xiaozhuang.
Xiaozhuang had no choice but to dodge. The blade cut through the air, tearing a hole in Xiaozhuang’s shirt.
Blood seeped out, staining his shirt crimson.
While Xiaozhuang was dodging, Xia Yang swept his legs. Xiaozhuang dodged the first hit but not the second.
With a loud thud, Xia Yang’s fist came crashing down, the dagger dug into Xiaozhuang’s shoulder.
“Ahh…” Xiaozhuang screamed in agony, his instinct forcing him to try and flee.
Xia Yang leapt onto him from behind, pressing him against the control panel. He gripped Xiaozhuang’s hands and held the blade against his neck. Xia Yang’s voice sounded as chilling as the voice from hell: “Xiaozhuang, you bastard, you dare to betray me!”
Xiaozhuang looked at Xia Yang with a pained and guilty expression, opening his mouth seemingly to sever his own tongue.
Xia Yang’s eyes narrowed. He moved his grip slightly up to Xiaozhuang’s jawbone; there was a crack, Xiaozhuang’s jaw dislocated and he howled in pain.
The feeling of betrayal seemed to drive Xia Yang crazy. He kicked Xiaozhuang, making him collide with the pilot’s chair before collapsing onto the floor, blood gushing from his mouth.
With no one controlling it, the plane started shaking violently again.
The precarious situation forced Xia Yang to put aside settling the betrayal scores with Xiaozhuang. He lifted Xiaozhuang back onto the pilot’s seat.
After forcing him to sit down, Xia Yang pressed his dagger against Xiaozhuang’s neck. “Land it, now!” he commanded.
Unyielding, Xiaozhuang shook his head. “I can’t!”
Xia Yang’s eyes hardened, and he pushed his dagger deeper into his shoulder, twisting it.
Xiaozhuang howled in unbearable pain. “Elder Brother, I’m sorry. There’s nothing I can do. I can’t land.”
“Your sorry is worth a damn! If you don’t land this plane, I’m killing you right now,” Xia Yang, at this point, wanted nothing more than to slaughter Xiaozhuang.
Tears streamed down Xiaozhuang’s face. “Kill me! I never expected to survive when I chose to do this.”
