Chapter 83: 83, Recording, Nervous
In the morning, after the long meeting ended, Zhao Jingnan called Song Qinghuan and another employee from the HR department, Bai Rubing, into his office and handed each of them a stack of documents.
Song Qinghuan flipped through her documents and found a dialogue script. She was confused about why she received such materials.
She looked over at Bai Rubing and found her in the same state of confusion, but without any hint of surprise.
Manager Zhao said, “Study these carefully and practice a bit, you’ll be doing some voice-over work for the general manager this afternoon.”
Only then did Song Qinghuan learn that the company was developing an ACG game and needed to record some promotional materials. Shi Annuo didn’t want professional voice actors; he wanted to pick a couple of people inside the company.
In the afternoon, Song Qinghuan, accompanied by Bai Rubing, came to the 60th floor. A secretary was waiting to receive them and promptly led them to the general manager’s office.
Shi Annuo sat behind his grand leather chair, smiled and asked them, “Have you gone through the scripts Manager Zhao gave you?”
“We have, Mr. General Manager,” Bai Rubing said with a smile. Song Qinghuan echoed and nodded.
Shi Annuo stood up and led both of them to a recording studio created by Times Group, specially designed for game development. Its high-tech digital recording equipment and warmly lit, large recording room exuded a lavish yet cozy atmosphere, akin to the golden hall in Vienna.
By the time they arrived, the sound engineer had already set up the equipment. Song Qinghuan and Bai Rubing could start recording immediately.
Song Qinghuan waited outside, while Bai Rubing went into the recording booth first. Being the script’s main character, she had the most and the most important lines, hence naturally she went first.
Bai Rubing tested the microphone, and suddenly began to feel nervous.
She was an extremely introverted girl. Quiet and calm, whenever her colleagues swooned over Shi Annuo, she would merely watch from the side, give a light smile, and then continue with her work.
It wasn’t that she was trying to appear aloof; she genuinely wasn’t interested in Shi Annuo.
Despite being quiet and seeming timid, she was actually a very ambitious girl.
She aimed to one day earn the highest position she could and to stand on the same level as the man she loved.
Indeed, she had been harboring feelings for a certain man. One glance and she had fallen in love with him. He was the reason she joined Times Group, the motivation behind her continuous hard work; simply to reach a height where she could look him in the eye, and possibly catch his attention without him having to look down.
Doing this voice recording was a minor task, but she understood it as an opportunity, a chance for her to climb higher.
However, she noticed that the pressure of being too careful, overly nervous, had slightly shaken her otherwise pleasant voice.
