Chapter 76: Chapter 76: No Need to Use Hands

They were all disciples under this middle-aged man, their Star Levels all ranging from Seventh to Eighth Grade, naturally filled with pride in their hearts.

Lin Feng chuckled dismissively upon hearing their conversation. The Star Palace was indeed a transcendent force on this mainland, but it was only one of them; there were others that could contend with it.

For instance, the Candle Dragon Palace where Lin Feng had previously belonged to, and several of the Black Gold Elders of the Star Palace had even died at Lin Feng’s hand. Of course, mentioning these now was utterly pointless.

It was rather the middle-aged man who took a long look at Lin Feng, not saying much more, "Everyone has their own aspirations. You have good talent; I hope you realize your mistake before it’s too late and not lead yourself astray." n𝚘𝚟𝚙u𝚋.co𝚖

The meaning of his words was quite clear: he was saying that Lin Feng’s current choice was very foolish—a mistake. Lin Feng didn’t take it to heart.

"I am firm in my choice," Lin Feng said with a faint smile. His choice was the path he had walked before. Although it wasn’t a shortcut, Lin Feng at least knew it to be safe and secure, aware that it was free of pits and traps.

Seeing this, the middle-aged man narrowed his eyes slightly, "Can you tell me where you are headed? I wish to know what force could possibly make you so determined."

Lin Feng hadn’t expected this middle-aged man to be so persistent. How would he know that the Ninth Grade Star of Hu Ben Country had not appeared for a decade?

Every additional Ninth Grade Star would raise the grade of their Star Palace Sub Hall in Hu Ben Country.

You should know that they rank at the bottom among the neighboring countries.

Lin Feng thought for a moment, guessing that the other party wouldn’t rest until he had the answer, so he decided to simply tell the truth.

"Iron Spear Divine Marquis."

Is it him?

The middle-aged man clearly had heard of this person and nodded slightly, "He is quite a notable person, but with your talent, you could find someone even better."

Lin Feng knew that what he said was true, but there was no helping it. Who asked Lin Feng to be so committed to his first mentor, the Iron Spear Divine Marquis, who had taught him so much more than just strength and cultivation?

"I still want to be his disciple," Lin Feng said sincerely, as if he would choose the Iron Spear Divine Marquis as his master again even if he could live his life over.

"Pfft, the Iron Spear Divine Marquis is just a Heavenly Martial Master, that’s all. Only a country bumpkin who hasn’t seen the world would think a Heavenly Martial Master is that powerful. Ridiculous. What a waste of such good Star potential." A young man with a long face and narrow eyes, who looked quite mean, could no longer hold back his sarcasm, probably also irked by seeing his own master inviting, again and again, a young fellow even younger than himself.

Lin Feng’s gaze fell upon him instantly, speaking with a smile that was not quite a smile, "Is that so? But in my view, even though you joined the Star Palace, you don’t seem all that impressive."

"You..."

The long-faced young man immediately became enraged, feeling looked down upon by a junior who was, in his eyes, inferior to himself, and his face turned ashen.

"Young man, don’t think that just because you’re a Ninth Grade Star that you can soar to the heavens. If I were to deal with you, I wouldn’t need to use one hand; just one move would have you lying flat on the ground!!"

Lin Feng was not the least bit intimidated, still speaking with that semi-amused tone, "Oh dear, now I’m really scared. When I’m seventeen years old, I won’t even need to use my hands—I’ll use my foot, and a single kick will have you lying flat. Do you believe that?"

"You... are you seeking death?" The long-faced youth immediately became furious, interpreting the reaction as blatant contempt.

"Enough!"

The middle-aged man frowned, scolded lowly, and then glanced at Lin Feng without further comment, tossing him a storage ring that held his reward before leaving.

The other youths quickly followed suit, except for the long-faced youth who had a conflict with Lin Feng. He gave Lin Feng a deep look and said ominously, "Remember, my name is Vulture, and I reside with Iron Spear Divine Marquis in the Imperial City. If I see you there, I will..."

At this point, he made a throat-slitting gesture and produced a clicking sound with his mouth, giving Lin Feng a sinister smile before coldly departing.

Vulture?

Lin Feng scoffed disdainfully. What an arrogant kid. He couldn’t be bothered with him. Upon inspecting the storage ring, he found the reward to be decent—certainly not something the Lin Family could produce at a moment’s notice. It was given freely, so why not accept it? Afterwards, Lin Feng kept himself secluded within the family grounds.

In the blink of an eye, a month passed by.

During that month, some interesting events took place. For example, there was no shortage of matchmakers who came to propose marriages to Lin Feng, be it the daughter of a wealthy merchant or a young lady from another family, all of whom were smitten with Lin Feng, the heartthrob. Some girls even insisted on marrying no one but Lin Feng. In response, Lin Feng had his father reject all such proposals.

Even Lin Dao came in person to apologize to Lin Feng, who did not bother to pursue the matter, not wanting to appear petty.

"You little rascal, still playing your cards close to the chest, huh? Really letting me down, here. I, Lin Panghu, consider you a brother, but you treat me like an outsider. Such a big deal, and you didn’t even give your brother a heads-up, making me worry for you that day."

That day, Lin Panghu, with his booming voice, went on and on, complaining about how Lin Feng wasn’t being a good enough buddy by keeping his Ninth Grade Star Level a secret from him.

But Lin Feng could read between the lines; he knew this guy was just angling for a free meal, expecting him to be the host.

"Fuman Building, order whatever you want. Isn’t that considerate enough?" Lin Feng playfully punched his chubby chest.

Lin Panghu’s mouth watered immediately. Fuman Building was his favorite place, second only to his love for the brothels.

Fuman Building was a renowned establishment in the area, famous both locally and afar. It was said that one could smell the delicious aroma wafting from its kitchen even from the city gates.

Although this was an exaggeration, it spoke volumes about the place. While the decoration of Fuman Building was secondary and standard, the real attraction was the unique flavor of its chef’s cooking. Whether for a drink or a feast, the place was never short of customers, bustling with business regardless of meal times.

Lin Feng and Lin Panghu arrived a bit late, only to find the first floor already fully occupied.

"Tsk, tsk, business is booming indeed." With no choice, Lin Panghu could only head to the second floor to check.

The second floor housed private rooms, with a higher charge than the first floor—one additional dish’s price—thus attracting patrons with thicker wallets.

Still, these rooms were almost full too, with only one left that Lin Panghu immediately claimed by plopping himself down.

Without even looking at the menu, Lin Panghu began ordering, while the waiter took notes; he ordered a full ten main dishes. The meal would cost at least thirty or forty Gold Pearls, certainly not something an average family could afford.
