Slowly, and Gently, Lenny opened his eyes.
This was actually his body’s instinctive reaction to danger, propelling him to act. he opened his eyes gently to see a Spider the size of a deer over his head.
This spider was red all over to an abnormal degree. In fact, if he was to put it in words, then he would say that it was almost ethereal. This meant that he could see through it, and yet, he could by instinct tell that it was dangerous.
Slowly, this spider, having created a long web leading to Lenny’s body slowly fell on him.
However, lenny panicked and in doing so, he waved his right hand to hit this giant spider. Unfortunately for him, his hand passed through the ethereal creature.
At the same time, the Spider landed on his body. With an aggressive bite into his arm, Lenny felt as if Lava had been pumped into his veins and then sucked back, pulling his soul with it.
"AHHH!!!" He screamed as he instinctively activated his white flames. This time around, the effect was evident on the creature.
It screeched as it fell on the ground.
Lenny on the other hand, fell back to the ground. He backed away towards the wall. The Spider had only been hurt a bit. It rolled over, back on its feet and rushed for Lenny.
Lenny backed up, but there was only so much he could do. The wall behind him prevented his retreat. The Spider leaped into the air for his face.
But Before it had the opportunity to sink its fangs into Lenny, a blade moved.
*SLASH!*
The Ethereal Spider was sliced into two. Both sides of it, turning into smoke and evaporating into nothingness.
"Jin, Creatures made of soul and flame. I hate those things! Luckily, this is a very lpw level one. You would have had your soul taken in one sip." The Man that had said this spat at the corner to show his disgust.
From the rough black leather boots to his leather pants and then Leather Jacket which was further embraced by a black wool jacket most likely from killing a giant wolf.
This man was as savage looking as they got in the wild. He had a long scar that cut across his face, and black beards that were both rough and showed evidence that one could find food crumbs within them without searching too deeply.
His gaze was that of experience and when he spoke, he looked right in the person’s eyes. However, Lenny could still tell that if an attack came from the side, those sharp eyes would still see them coming.
"I am Cain. What’s your name boy and how in the cosmic stars did you fall into Celesterra?"
Lenny paused a bit. He massaged his head. It hurt a lot. Now that the threat for his life which was the Jin was gone, the pain not just from his head but his entire body settled in.
He tried to recall, but he just could not remember. "I am... I am..." He raised his head to Cain, "I cannot remember!"
Cain took a deep look at Lenny. Staring right into his heart, as if to capture his soul through his gaze. "Hmmm! This is not good. You are only a Green soul. And to make matters worse, your Green soul is injured.
Although you are strong, being a Great Demon ranked existence will do you little good in such a sub plane that has most of his creatures as Jins. With your weak soul constantly drawing them to you, like a lamp in the dark, you might not survive this place.
Basically, you are walking breathing buffet!"
"Huh!?" lenny raised a brow at Cain, not understanding what he meant.
"Can you stand?" Cain asked.
Slowly, Lenny, using the crystalline red wall as support stood to his feet. However, this process still filled his head with much ache and other parts of his body he had not paid attention to also displayed pain.
Cain looked at Lenny’s body, "You are indeed a lucky kid! Bits from Voidlings!" he pointed at different parts of lenny’s body that were very slow to heal.
Depression’s curse still had its effects on Lenny’s body cells. Although it looked as if it was better now, it was still there.
With much effort, Lenny got to his feet.
"Good! You are a survivor. Only spirit like that will save your life in this hell hole. Now, quickly, come with me! The others are waiting. We have to get out of here before they come."
Lenny had questions, about a million of them. Right now, he could not even remember his name, nor who he was. And now, he was running away from enemies he did not know that he had.
However, even without memory, there were gifts that an assassin had that were deep in his bones.
An example was Lenny’s walking steps. Even though he staggard from time to time and used the wall for assistance, his steps were too selective of the earth. An attribute that made Cain’s eyes shine in acknowledgement.
This dark cave was without light, but both men navigated out of it and into the night.
The moment he came out, he felt a heavy weight on his body. By muscle memory, he tried to move, but because he was took weak to, the weight pressed him to the ground.
"Go down boy! They are coming."
This had not been Cain, but another person. Unlike Cain, he was lightly dressed, wearing a skirt made from beast skin. He wore no shirt to cover his upper body and no shoes for his feet.
However, he had rows and rows of long beads around his neck.
"We tried to loose them, but the Asmodeus family forces are still on our tail, Cain!" The man informed.
"I know Samuel! I Can see that." Cain said as he also went to the ground.
Instantly, a few people, soldiers from the look of their armor holding spears that glowed in the dark passed by. These were all demons. Lenny did not ever remember seeing them, but he knew their nature from one glance.
These soldiers, three in number looked around. The spears in their hands illuminated their paths and they searched the entire area for their Prey.
Cain and his team laid low to the ground in hiding. Lenny noticed that they blended with the environment perfectly. This was not just a skill, but the clothes they wore seemed to be enchanted to give off this effect.
Just then, that sense of danger filled Lenny again, and he turned in the direction it had come from. Once more, there was another Ethereal looking spider.
It passed the others laying low as it headed right for Lenny. Cain had said that Lenny’s green soul was like a lamp in the dark. this was what he meant.
Even the low creatures of this sub plane were rushing over for the feast that was Lenny Tales.
lenny knew the spider was coming for him, and he tried to shake it off by moving to the side a bit, but the person holding him down held him firmly.
Besides, the Soldiers had heard movements and were shinning their spears their way.
They leaned in close, but did not see anything.
Just when they were about to leave, the spider which had climbed Lenny’s body, sank its mandibles into lenny’s flesh.
Instinctively, lenny moved.
"FUCK IT!" Cain cursed as he moved.
He removed a small blade made of stone from his side. From the looks of it, even an amateur black smith could forge a more sturdy blade than this. It was short, made of stone, and by stone, but had animal skin for its handle. But there was something about it that was foundationally dangerous.
Every cell on Lenny’s body seemed to fear its appearance.
The Blade moved like a spectra in Cain’s hands, and the moment he stabbed with it, not even the armor that they wore prevented its penetration. It was practically like Hot knife through butter.
The second Soldier stabbed Cain from behind, his spear going through one side, and clearly popping out through the other side.
But Cain did not stop. He was like a barbarian that had found the joy of slaughter.
Again and again, he stabbed the Soldier that had been unlucky before him.
And then He grabbed the spear through his chest, pulling it out. Cain rose to his feet as he turned to the demon that had attacked him.
Shock filled the demon’s face as he looked at the gapping hole on Cain’s chest where his heart was supposed to be. Before their eyes, the Hole filled up.
"You... You are him. The cursed one. The first Mur...."
*SLASH!* Lenny did not hear what the demon said as the blade had been stabbed through his mouth, and into its throat.
Meanwhile, Samuel used a blade to stab the spider that had attacked Lenny. "Damn it Cain! those were only scouts. If we had avoided them, then we would have been able to go back to the Hide out."
Samuel frowned as he looked at lenny, "Its all this kid’s fault. let me end him and we can be on our way." his aura became menacing...
