Lunaire, who overwhelmed Zero, one of the strongest members of the 《Invisible Hand of God》, threw such a provocation to Nobunaga and Veranta.

Veranta was trembling in fear, unable to move from the spot. He suddenly noticed that he had already fallen to his knees.

Nobunaga closed the distance, moving the 《Time Flux》 into position for a quick draw. His entire focus was now on the battle ahead.

At that moment, a magic circle appeared beneath Lunaire’s feet, and Nobunaga’s instincts screamed danger. Though still outside the range of the 《Time Flux》, he drew his sword anyway. Time froze. Nobunaga quickly leapt back, his instincts having warned him to move.
「Time-Space Magic, 19th Rank《Gravibomb》」
A black light spread from the spot where Nobunaga had been, shrinking back and compressing everything, including space itself, before imploding. Had he delayed his decision, he would have been caught in the implosion.
「Oh my… You avoided that, huh? The power of that sword, I presume?」
Lunaire narrowed her eyes as she asked.
Nobunaga sheathed 《Time Flux》 once more, his face showing no fear despite the close call. Instead, his demon-like grin grew wider, exhilarated by the challenge.

Nobunaga stood still, his hand resting on the sword’s sheath, waiting for the perfect opportunity. His plan was to time his strike with her next spell, just as he had dodged her gravity magic earlier.
「This is the first time I’ve seen an item that stops time.」
Lunaire spoke coldly as another glowing magic circle formed around her.

Nobunaga drew 《Time Flux》 again, and time stopped. In the frozen, grey world, he jumped behind Lunaire, ready to deliver the perfect strike.
As the magic circle glowed brighter, Nobunaga prepared for his greatest sword draw, aiming to interrupt Lunaire's spell.
「Time-Space Magic, 25th Rank《World Ruler》」
The light intensified.
（A 25th-rank spell? What kind of magic is this?!）
Nobunaga couldn’t afford to wait and find out. Determined, he drew his sword.
「TAKE THIS GREATEST STRIKE OF MY LIFE, LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICH!」
But he couldn’t draw the sword. It had vanished from his hand. Before he even realized it, Lunaire had already swung the sword at him.
The blow sent him crashing into a wall.
「Don’t worry, I used the blunt side. I have many things I want to ask you.」
Lunaire tossed the sword—his beloved 《Time Flux》—onto the ground.
「H-How did… My sword? What happened… here?」
Nobunaga murmured in disbelief.
「I simply took it from you when time stopped.」
「What…?」
「I stopped time with magic. From what I’ve observed, my magic can stop time at least twice as long as your sword can.」
Lunaire explained matter-of-factly.
「Ku…kukuku… KAHAHAHAHAHA!」
Nobunaga burst into laughter.
「WELL DONE, LICH! I THOUGHT NO ONE COULD BEAT ME IN TERMS OF STRENGTH, YET I NEVER EXPECTED THAT THERE WAS STILL A HIDDEN EXPERT LIKE YOU IN THIS WORLD! I THOUGHT I’D SEEN EVERYTHING THIS WORLD HAD TO OFFER, BUT I GUESS THERE’S MORE TO SEE!!」
Nobunaga passed out right after shouting those words.
