Chapter 1006 -1009: The man colder than ice
“Move aside.”
The man’s tone was cold, his deep blue eyes shaded by thick lashes, making his handsome and stern features appear even colder.
“This is my home… No way!”
Even Abbie, as clever as she was, couldn’t help but feel a hint of fear when facing the man before her.
True to his name, Richard Coldwell was just like his surname suggested, so chilling that people dared not look him in the eye directly. Moreover, in Europe, he had another, even more distinguished surname—Borkin.
On par with the Reddington family was the Borkin family.
No, compared to the Reddington family, the Borkin family was even more illustrious.
“Little bean, I’m here to visit the Duke and Duchess, you’d best not get in my way.” The man slightly narrowed his eyes, and a cold warning flashed through his deep, blue eyes.
He had never liked children much, and if it weren’t for the fact that Abbie and Lulu were cute, he wouldn’t even bother with an extra warning.
“You… what do you want with my grandparents? Want to marry my mother again?!” Abbie mustered the courage to meet the man’s warning gaze.
It took so much effort not to turn tail and run in the face of those eagle-like eyes.
Behind her, Lulu stealthily tugged at her brother’s clothes, “Abbie, I don’t like Uncle Coldwell, he’s so fierce…”
She definitely didn’t want Richard Coldwell to be her Daddy.
“Don’t worry, I don’t like him either.” Abbie turned back, softly comforting his sister.
Although he liked to bully Lulu for fun, when it really mattered, he would protect her like a brother should.
However, while he was turning to reassure Lulu, the man’s tall and erect figure swept past the two little kids.
By the time Lulu reacted and tried to warn her brother, Richard Coldwell had already walked past them, striding into the distance.
“It’s over, it’s over, Abbie… Uncle Coldwell has gone in! Grandmother is so eager to get Mother married off, and since she likes him, she might agree to his proposal while Mother is away!”
“Don’t panic.” Abbie pinched Lulu’s soft, tender face.
“We’ll go find Grandpa and Grandma and tell them we don’t like Richard Coldwell. If they don’t agree, we’ll go find Uncle David… If even Uncle David can’t do anything, we’ll go find Mother. If we don’t like him, Mother definitely won’t like him either.”
“Yeah!” Lulu nodded vigorously, her tender little face flushed with a happy rosiness, “Mother loves Lulu the most, and she will definitely listen to what I say. I miss Mother so much, Abbie, let’s go find Mother!”
Abbie sighed with slight exasperation, this Lulu always missed the point. 𝖓𝔬𝔳𝔭𝖚𝖇.𝔠𝔬𝖒
“Olivia Redington, I’ve already said, we have to find Grandpa and Grandma first, then Uncle. If they all disagree, then we can find mother. You need to be sensible; mother is handling important matters in Eastonia, and we can’t disturb her.”
Mother would always make time to video chat with them every day. However, what made Abbie find a bit strange was that their regular call with Mother had uncharacteristically failed to occur yesterday.
Usually, if Mother was unable to contact them for some reason, she would inform them in advance or have Aunt Sadie notify them.
But yesterday, not only did Mother fail to appear on time, but she also didn’t leave any message.
A flicker of deep thought crossed Abbie’s blue, almond-shaped eyes as he worried about his mother across the ocean.
“Abbie, let’s go… let’s hurry and find Grandpa and Grandma. Grandma likes Uncle Coldwell so much, if we don’t go now, I’m afraid Grandma will really send us off to Uncle Coldwell.”
Richard Coldwell had once, quite seriously, threatened the two little kids.
He said that if he married Lily, she would pack them up and send them off to live with Richard Coldwell.
And then, he would bully the two little kids every day.
Abbie naturally didn’t believe it.
But the thought had scared Lulu so much she couldn’t sleep.
