Immediately, the two stepped into a spacious and orderly room.

The room was brightly lit, with mirrors covering three walls. Various cosmetics, wigs, and props were laid out before the mirrors, dazzling and too numerous to take in at a glance. In the center of the room, there were several leather chairs with soft cushions.

"Um, Miss Abigail..."

Lanci looked around the busy room in astonishment, pointed ahead, and asked Abigail. 𝚗𝚘v𝚙𝚞b.𝚌𝚘m

But Abigail had no time for him. She quickly summoned two teachers and gave them succinct instructions.

"Come on, what are you dawdling for?"

The makeup artists nodded in understanding and immediately got busy.

First, they dragged Lanci and Talia in front of the mirrors and skillfully used brushes, sponges, and powder puffs to contour a whole new outline on their faces.

The foundation shimmered softly under the lights, eye shadows and blushes complemented each other like the paints in an artist’s palette, rendering Talia’s features even more charming.

As for the male makeup, it was about creating shape without borders, no eye shadow was needed, just the leftover powder from contouring under the eyes, which made it much faster than Talia’s makeup.

"Perfect, your natural temperament and stance are just like a prince and princess, you don’t need much adornment to feel closely aligned with the characters."

Abigail surveyed them with satisfaction and confidently spoke.

From the first glance, she had noticed that the actors her friend had found for her were even better than she had imagined.

The two of them sat in front of the mirrors, dazed, as the Brielda Opera House staff speedily applied their makeup, and someone behind them brought over performance clothes wrapped in non-woven garment bags, waiting for the makeup artists to finish up and complete their looks.

"Wait a minute."

Lanci suddenly realized something was amiss and turned his head, resting his right hand on the back of the chair.

Didn’t they just have a cross-dressing chat with Abigail?!

"If you need anything, I’ll do my utmost to satisfy your requests after the performance," Abigail said, looking at Lanci’s tense appearance, with her hands pressed together in a pleading gesture.

She knew that such an emergency performance tested the actors’ skills and nerve, but now she could only trust that the actors her friend had found were reliable enough.

After all, they had said earlier that they were introduced by a friend; she certainly hadn’t mistaken their identity.

The entire makeup process was efficient and well-ordered, leaving Lanci and Talia feeling as if they were in a dream, and before they could react, the makeup artists had finished the final touches and hurried them off to change clothes.

"No, we..."

Lanci felt something stuck in his throat, realizing now that the problem seemed to be quite serious.

"Aren’t you the actors my friend introduced?" Abigail asked, observing Lanci and Talia’s expressions with some hesitation.

Her heartbeat also quickened, visibly escalating with each breath.

"Ah?"

Talia was also stunned.

She seemed to remember hearing about the intense schedule of stage plays.

Could it be that the lead actor had a sudden health issue, and Abigail was looking for a friend to step in, then mistook the two of them as the actors introduced by a friend?

"What ’ah’? Isn’t that the case?" Abigail looked at them suspiciously.

With all the setbacks of the evening, if these two were messing with her, she was nearly on the verge of exploding.

With the performance nearing, she had no other time to arrange for actors!

"We..."

The dramatic change in Abigail’s expression, as if she wanted to kill them, choked Lanci and Talia’s intended explanation in their throats.

Given Abigail’s temperament and state, it seemed that trying to clarify the situation and asking to speak to her alone would only result in her furiously blocking them forever and sending them away.

Correspondingly,

a crisis or opportunity lies just within a moment’s decision!

"We are the actors you’re looking for, that’s right."

Pressed by the stress of the situation, although Lanci and Talia were sweating profusely, they still unanimously took on the role.
