"The Cat Immortal sure dances handsomely."
"This is street dance!"
The audience clapped and cheered continuously as they watched the Cat Immortal on stage bring out all sorts of signature moves.
It was indeed a special screening, with even the cat’s dance completely redesigned!
They immersed themselves in this grand audio-visual feast, wandering through a sea of theatre magic and musical angels.
"My mana is almost depleted, dang."
The Cat Immortal gasped for breath, hands on hips, barely able to articulate his lines.
Just then,
Cinderella, dressed in a trailing ball gown, stunningly gorgeous, stepped out with a light and graceful pace.
"Ah, what a cute outfit!"
She spoke as if reciting a poem.
Her appearance startled the Cat Immortal.
"Thank you, dear Cat Immortal, you are my savior!"
Talia said with tears of gratitude.
Now, she could only remember the first two lines of the script.
"You’re my savior! Thank you!"
The Cat Immortal replied irritably,
"Alright, it’s time to send you to the ball, are you ready?"
He went through the motions, asking Cinderella.
"..."
Then there was a long silence on stage.
Talia’s head buzzed, unable to think of what to say next.
It would have been fine if Lanci was also on stage. Now, facing so many spectators by herself, she just wanted to run away.
"Ah, this outfit seems a bit too eye-catching. Maybe I should change into something more subdued."
Talia had to improvise on the spot, lifting her skirt and running backstage after shouting this line.
She had to look at the script again!
"Wait!!"
The Cat Immortal yelled hoarsely,
"What am I supposed to say?"
If she got away, he would have to explain himself here today!
Talia stopped guiltily and glanced back at the Cat Immortal, her eyes filled with pity.
She truly didn’t know what to say next.
On the other side of the stage,
"It indeed seems a bit different from the usual performance today."
Whispers rippled through the audience, as many who had seen the show before noticed differences in the choreography.
Abigail returned to her seat, still a bit shaken.
Despite the feeling that the actors her friend had found were a bit off, that friend was usually reliable and wouldn’t have sent two duds to prank her.
At least their quality was undeniable.
They seemed born for this play.
This was the first time Abigail had felt this way.
"Cinderella, hurry onto the carriage, go to the ball, and meet your destiny! You must return by midnight, or the magic will dissolve!"
The Cat Immortal cautioned.
"I, I’m not ready...!" 𝒏𝒐𝒗𝒑𝒖𝙗.𝒄𝒐𝒎
Talia quickly waved her hands to explain.
She wasn’t sure if that line was in the script, but she really wasn’t ready for the next scene!
"The Governor, the Governor is a demon, right? He must be terrifying, and perhaps even an old demon of great age. It’s normal for me, a young human woman, to be afraid of the Governor, so please give me a moment more to prepare."
Talia added.
The Cat Immortal tilted his head and frowned.
He didn’t remember these lines.
Though they did fit Cinderella’s character.
But if you just do your own thing, won’t the whole stage become chaotic?
"Go now, Cinderella, tonight you are the most enchanting princess, and Sir Governor is waiting for you."
The Cat Immortal continued on script, speeding up his speech, turning into an unskippable cutscene, and raising his rod signaling that the stage was ready to transform.
The panoramic music once again enveloped the stage and the audience.
「♫ Start leaping into the air~」
「♫ Your worries will vanish with the jump~」
「♫ Nothing is more thrilling than dancing~」
「♫ Don’t be afraid, because! I am your Fated True Maiden~」
"Wait..."
Talia looked around in panic, as the stage background and decorations began to change.
"Cinderella’s shocked and awestruck look, as if she’s never seen the world, is portrayed perfectly."
"This actress is quite good, I underestimated her."
"How did she manage to look both like a country girl and a princess?"
Listening to the murmur of praises from the audience, Abigail exhaled a sigh of relief.
Maybe the lead just hadn’t gotten into character earlier.
This is acting, right?
The performance should be back on track now.
Cinderella, with tears in her eyes, boarded the carriage from the Card House and exchanged farewells with the Cat Immortal.
The sound of the Governor’s Mansion clock came from afar. The projected backdrop hinted that the ball was about to start, and the carriage left in a cloud of dust as the Cat Immortal sent Cinderella away with a relieved smile.
The stage lights dimmed, and the Cat Immortal exited.
When the lights on stage came back on,
Walls adorned with Divine Era style reliefs and murals recreated the epic scenes of gods and humans dancing together in South Crayney mythology.
The glistening grand mirrors reflected the glitz of the hall intertwined with toasts and clinking glasses, weaving a decadent symphony of sight and sound.
The magnificent palace hall was brightly lit, a scene of peace and prosperity.
Dazzling, heady with fragrance.
Noble girls and ladies bustled and competed in splendor.
The noise, the laughter, surged like waves, incessant.
Even without spotlights, everyone’s gaze was quickly drawn to one figure.
The Demon Race Governor with black hair, dressed in a jade-colored tailcoat, looked brooding and uninterested in the party.
"Governor, there are so many beauties here tonight, you have to cheer up. Whichever one you fancy, we’ll all wish you the best!"
"Yes, Governor, go dance with the lady you like. Maybe she’ll fall in love with you at first sight."
