"How strong can the Pope be? Whether he can survive and emerge from a Ninth-order Doomsday Shadow World is another matter. Even if he does make it out, it’ll be many years from now. By then, it might as well be the second season, and the whole North and South Continent will have changed hands. New Ninth-order beings will be born, and I’ll just find a Ninth-order backing, so I won’t have to fear the Pope."
He was almost itching to try as he spoke.
Abigail, standing by, got goosebumps, her teeth grinding audibly.
While Lanci was causing trouble outside, she shivered at home.
If she could ever reach Eighth-order, the first Bishop she would want to kill was Tolyado.
While they were chatting,
the air in the mansion suddenly tensed, and the scenery near the sofa gradually became unstable.
"Oh, what do we have here? Another person?"
Tolyado felt a ripple in the space, and only then did he realize there was another life form separated within an independent space in the room.
But it seemed like they couldn’t trap that person anymore.
The entire mansion was under Abigail’s control, and it was because the person willingly entered Abigail’s trap that they were confined for so long.
"Thanks to those two performing for me, I wouldn’t have counted on you tonight, useless trash."
Abigail chastised Tolyado.
"Oh? A girl? She played opposite you?"
Tolyado immediately became interested and questioned Lanci.
"Yes, so what?"
Lanci replied suspiciously.
"What sort of heavenly beauty could have abandoned Sigrid and set off with you on a duo journey in the Cerryti Empire?"
Tolyado asked with curiosity.
"Pfft, just an older, single, unemployed girl with gray hair, bad-tempered and gluttonous, save for being good with children. And lately, her cooking is getting tastier. I can hardly find any more merits."
Lanci could hardly contain his laughter.
He realized that the thought communication had been blocked by the space, so he boldly spoke his mind at that moment.
"That’s impossible, I don’t believe it. She must be a goddess, not just any girl can play opposite you, McCarthy."
Tolyado waved his hand.
"Indeed, she does play Cinderella with quite an effect on the show. I didn’t expect them to sync up so well when I first saw them."
Abigail added.
"No way, Cinderella isn’t a comedic role. How could she turn my play into this? You two must be pulling a prank."
Tolyado expressed his confusion.
He hadn’t seen how this evening’s opera turned out yet, but he was convinced that a woman who could compete with Sigrid, the Bishop of Hegemony, was definitely not just for laughs.
Thick ancient books on the bookshelf flipped pages without a breeze, fluttering loudly. Even the scent of sandalwood in the air became thick and pungent, an almost intangible warning. 𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙥𝙪𝙗.𝒄𝙤𝙢
A dazzling blue-white light flashed like a blade, tearing open a ferocious rift in mid-air.
Electric sparks flickered at the twisted edges of the space, crackling as Talia and an arrow shot from the bow burst forth from the bizarre portal. Her golden eyes burned fiercely, filled with anger and worry.
Talia’s movements were as swift as lightning. She landed lightly, barely touching the ground before flashing to Lanci’s side, protectively placing him behind her like a lioness with her cub.
Talia’s gaze was sharp as a knife, directly piercing Abigail and Tolyado, hostility in her eyes almost manifesting into tangible blades.
"Lanci, are you hurt?"
Talia asked softly, her voice filled with concern, but her eyes stayed fixed on Abigail, unblinking.
In an instant, the entire banquet hall’s atmosphere was tense, with invisible sparks crackling in the air.
Just as Talia was about to act, her gaze shifted to a mysterious man by Abigail’s side, whose horrifying General Level Magic Power made her shiver.
Facing such an opponent, she had no chance of protecting Lanci.
"Wait, we won’t attack you."
Abigail raised her hand to signal Talia not to panic.
If an Eight-order Strongman started a one-sided fight with them here, it could be very bad. The worst-case scenario could even break the Barrier and attract the War God.
She sensed Tolyado beside her make a move and felt a bad premonition.
However,
before she could stop him, Tolyado, upon seeing the girl with gray hair and golden eyes, raised his hand and pointed at her.
"Fuck, Talia!"
Tolyado exclaimed.
