Even the "Original Slabs" only reach the level of Orange Epic.
"The Orange Epic can be considered the theoretically highest grade; the Red Legend is an exceptional specification outside the norm. We’ve only encountered a damaged Red Legend Magic Device once during the century-rare turmoil in the Poseen Kingdom."
Lanci mentioned the incomplete Red Legend Magic Device "Parlony’s Grudge Record" he had seen in Floral City Parriet.
"Could the Blood Clan be after it?"
Talia voiced her concerns.
If not for the fact that "Parlony’s Grudge Record" could cause perpetual harm to innocent members of the Demon Race, she too, based purely on its power, would have coveted this Red Legend book-shaped weapon.
Even a small fragment of it could bring about a drastic transformation for Perlman in a short period.
"Indeed they would, but according to Mr. Barton and its properties, the Blood Clan is likely more wary of it and wants to eliminate it. This sword poses too great a threat to them."
Lanci provided a straight answer.
It puzzled him.
If the Cerryti Empire possessed such a Divine Sword that repelled Evil Spirits, then on the world line shown by the Goddess of Destiny, how did the Blood Clan ultimately break the sword’s protection and gain complete control over the Cerryti Empire?
That should not be the case.
Perhaps, apart from the Blood Clan, there were others within the Cerryti Empire driven by greater greed, plotting something that led to the Blood Clan’s victory.
"Don’t think too much about it for now; the calamity of the Blood Clan is imminent. Prioritize important tasks before they become urgent matters."
Talia sensed the doubts in Lanci’s heart and spoke to him in his own words.
"Right."
Lanci nodded.
It seemed the Princess had not given up and was actively seeking to save her country.
With the preparations that Alexia had made over the past year in the Cerryti Empire and their alliance, Lanci felt their chances of directly attacking Blood Moon City had increased slightly.
"Is Alexia safe now?"
Lanci asked the three people sitting across from him on the couch.
They all knew outright that Alexia was No. 5 from the Silvermoon Reform Association and naturally knew more about Alexia’s current situation in the Empire than he and Talia did.
"She makes the fewest requests for aid from the organization because she’s shadowed by many Blood Clan members and still remains in the Imperial Palace, only occasionally having the chance to use a Sacred Communication Magic Card to speak."
Abigail answered,
"Ever since Violet, the Sixth Army God of Aquamarine, left Brilda, Alexia has not spoken again."
Generally, Alexia could only speak when she left the Imperial Palace to a trusted location with a Barrier, but she could not frequent such places often.
Alexia had been silent for a while, which likely meant she did not dare to leave the Imperial Palace’s core Barrier lightly anymore.
"Perhaps contacting her with a Sacred Communication Magic Card is not as good as finding an appropriate opportunity to meet her in person during a formal event she’ll attend."
Tolyado spread his hands.
Anyway, it would probably be very hard to contact Alexia before Violet returned.
In Alexia’s judgment, at least one of the two staying in Brilda—the First Army God from Diamond Throne, Hesintos, and the Sixth Army God of Aqua Jade, Violet—could be reliable. So only when both War Gods were there would she dare leave the core Barrier of the Palace and operate in Brilda.
"Is she safe there alone in the Crati Palace?"
Isatia knew all too well the feeling of being isolated and in danger.
But Alexia’s circumstances were even more oppressive than her own.
"Members of the Imperial Royalty are protected by the blood of the Ninth-order Ancestors and the Power of Faith from their entire kingdom, plus the magic devices they carry. It’s not so easy to threaten a member of the Imperial Royalty within the Palace. Her resistance to Spiritual Magic has also greatly increased since she resonated with the Divine Sword."
Mr. Barton spoke of his previous work.
"That’s a relief."
Lanci, convinced of Alexia’s situation, no longer felt the need to hurry and reassure her.
He would certainly fulfill the promise he made to Alexia.
It was one of the few major tasks he had undertaken.
"Mr. Barton, from your perspective, which of the Empire’s War Gods are showing recent signs of doubt or might be under suspicion of being manipulated?"
Lanci realized how valuable an Empire insider like Barton was; he knew too much about the Imperial Army.
He could ask questions quite openly to Barton, questions about the Empire’s Special Operations Department that he otherwise wouldn’t be able to ask.
"As far as I know, those whose wills have been changed should include the Fourth Military God Jade Throne Jasper, Fifth Army God Divine Mica Seat Lugayard, Eighth Army God Golden Stone Throne Zercon, Ninth Army God Amethyst Seat Ryan, and Twelfth Army God Cat’s Eye Seat Bianca."
Barton understood what Lanci meant.
The latest public information indicated that the Blood Clan possessed a Ninth-order Ancestor capable of controlling others’ wills, which matched Barton’s own deductions on various signs.
These five War Gods initially disliked war, yet after a period, they all abruptly supported it.
"The Entwining Agate, the Blood Jade Marrow, and Jade—they’re not necessarily changed in intent?"
The Third Military God of Entwining Agate, Gaiat, the Seventh Military God of Blood Jade Marrow, Philip, and the Eleventh Military God Jade, Simon Luo.
Lanci was quite familiar with these three Military Gods.
"The Entwining Agate and the Blood Jade Marrow have long been inclined toward warfare, even well before the start of any combat, while Jade leans toward neutrality, getting involved in the war if it occurs."
Barton idly traced numbers on the coffee table with his fingertips.
One, two, six, eleven are from the Neutral Faction.
