Prince Aynor and Lanci stood side by side by the grand glass curtain wall. The transparent floor-to-ceiling windows allowed them to appreciate the beautiful view of the pedestrian plaza below. Both of their faces were flushed with relaxed smiles, thoroughly enjoying their conversation.
"Actually, Prince Aynor, it’s not hard to judge. According to the style of Demon World art that the professor demonstrated at the time, the second painting might seem abstract, but there are a few obvious flaws in the painting. These were not intentional, but purely mistakes..."
Listening to Lanci explain his experiences in the Demon World drawing classroom, Aynor’s eyes were filled with approval as he nodded continuously. He felt that if he were to look at those paintings again, he should really be able to differentiate which ones were drawn by students or the professor based on the key points Lanci mentioned.
Aynor was also amazed that Lanci could analyze everything so thoroughly in an instance.
Even if one is skilled in both modern and classic art, that’s only relative to humans.
But the fact that Lanci could fully understand the ancient demons’ artistic concepts the instant he arrived in the Demon World was both incredible and beyond the capacity of a human brain!
After a few minutes...
"By the way, Lanci, are you and Hyperion here to buy some cards today? Sofia is a Silver-level Card Maker. If she buys them for you, you’ll get quite a few internal discounts from the Association."
Aynor, reluctantly shifting the topic away from painting, hurriedly asked the pair.
Despite his joy, Aynor realized that his conversation with Lanci made it impossible for Hyperion to intervene, they just had to wait on them.
"Sofia..."
Lanci repeated the name Aynor mentioned, looking somewhat puzzled.
"Oh, I forgot to introduce her to you. You’re the only one here who doesn’t know her. She is Countess Sofia Fostock, Hyperion and I both know her well."
Aynor clapped his hands, feeling silly, and finally turned his attention to the purple-haired girl who had been watching him from the couch.
He had almost forgotten about Sofia.
Upon hearing Aynor’s words, Lanci looked at Sofia, the purple-haired Countess, and gave a slight nod of acknowledgement.
However, Sofia, who had been sneaking peeks at them from the distance, seemingly had no intention of responding to Lanci. She arrogantly turned away, pretending to not notice.
As a dedicated cardmaker, she didn’t care about Lanci’s reputation within the Shadow World.
She never broke school rules and did not interact with student council members.
During Aynor and Lanci’s cordial conversation, when she was completely ignored because of Lanci, she already started to feel aggrieved.
Clearly, Prince Aynor has never paid her this much attention, but in just a little bit of time, Aynor completely forgot about her due to a man!
By the floor-to-ceiling glass curtain wall on the third floor of the Cardmaker’s Association.
Aynor seemed to be accustomed to Sofia’s temperament and apologized to Lanci without any princely air, saying:
"Lanci, don’t take it to heart, Sofia is actually very kind-hearted."
"Of course not."
Lanci shook his head.
If she was a friend of Hyperion, she must be a good person, just having a bit of an odd personality.
Then, Lanci answered Aynor’s previous question: "I’ve come this time to participate in the Registered Cardmaking Master’s Exam, and Hyperion is here to watch my card-making."
At that moment, Aynor’s expression was filled with more interest.
"So, Lanci, you make cards too?"
Aynor asked, his voice full of surprise, as if he had long suspected that Lanci might also make cards.
"Yes, I’ve been practicing regularly," Lanci admitted.
"Forgive me for being straightforward, but the last time I met someone as brilliantly talented was Duke Migaya."
Aynor’s words held an indescribable admiration for both Migaya and Lanci.
"Duke Migaya?"
"Yes, Duke Migaya. He is a Magic Crystal Level card maker above the Platinum Level and one of the top card makers in the South Continent."
For Aynor, Migaya was both a teacher and a friend. Since childhood, Migaya had been the person he idolized and stuck to the most.
Seeing the shadow of young Migaya in Lanci now was one of the reasons why Aynor favored Lanci so much.
Of course, Migaya was very kind, but not as naive as Lanci.
"However, I am sure that there is one difference between you two, and that is you won’t hide a Great Demon Clan like Duke Migaya did, and even marry a Demon Race wife that left even his Majesty the King in shock...hahaha, do you know what my father’s expression was like at that time?"
Aynor happily laughed, recalling palace tales to Lanci.
Lanci: "..."
"By the way, Prince Aynor, have you kept your companion waiting for too long?" 𝑛𝑜𝑣𝑝𝑢𝘣.𝘤𝑜𝘮
As if suddenly remembering something, Lanci tried to shift the conversation away and asked.
He also took a look at the purple-haired Countess Sofia sitting on the couch far away.
She was still covertly watching this way.
"!"
Prince Aynor suddenly realized.
"Sorry, let’s go to the meeting area over there. About the Cardmaker’s examination, Sofia might have quite a few practical suggestions for you."
With Lanci’s reminder, Aynor finally remembered that he had left the Countess Sofia alone for far too long.
Immediately, Aynor nodded apologetically towards Sofia, leading Lanci and Hyperion in her direction.
Both Lanci and Hyperion naturally did not refuse Aynor’s goodwill, as there was still plenty of time before the examination began.
