The following day.
Friday morning.
The horizon gradually became stained with the bright hues of dawn, and with the rise of the morning sun, its rays penetrated through the wooden railings of the balcony. Specks of light danced on Lanci, casting long, slanted shadows on the ground in the early morning sunlight.
A meticulously designed rattan chair silently sat on the balcony, with several books on Magical Engineering placed on the nearby glass tea table. The pages fluttered in the wind, as if repeating Lanci’s reading traces from the previous night.
The breeze, accompanied by sunlight from the distant garden, brushed gently across Lanci’s face with a whiff of floral scent.
"Lanci, hurry up and make me a Magic Card, quick."
The Great Love Poet, summoned as usual, picked up the watering can to water the flowers. Seeing Lanci leisurely feeding the birds on the ground as always, she walked over and kicked him twice without delay.
"I got it... Yesterday, I bought a lot of materials and experimented until it was dark... Now everything is prepared, isn’t it? We’re just waiting for us to make it together."
Lanci, still half-asleep, was feeding his animal friends.
Since returning from the Shadow World, Lanci had several fulfilling days.
On the afternoon of the day he returned, he went to see his father, then later sought Talia’s help to look after Hyperion. On the second day, he had a contest with Adams and tamed Phoenix, then on the third day, he shared his surprise with Dean Loren.
Today was the last workday of the week. After feeding his animal friends and making a skin for the Great Love Poet, Lanci planned to go to the student council to see if there was anything he could help with, if he had enough time.
Of course, his home seemed to have a new regular visitor apart from the Great Love Poet.
The Cat boss had been coming to Lanci’s house for the last two days.
He had seen a little black cat hop onto his balcony the previous night and had opened the door to let it in.
The little black cat was still lazily sleeping, lying on Lanci’s couch reluctant to wake up.
However, the Great Love Poet who was beside Lanci watering the flowers suddenly disappeared.
She had unknowingly run back into the living room.
"How did a little kitten get in here?"
The Great Love Poet picked up the little black cat from beside the couch, rocking it as if it was a cradle. It was hard to tell if she intended to wake it up or lull it to sleep.
"Meow..."
The Cat boss opened its dreamy eyes.
And saw a Tata with a sweet smile on her lips.
It seemed startled, seeing Tata so cheerful!
Wait a minute, why does she look like a Demon Race!
"Who are you, meow!"
The Cat boss immediately jumped off the Great Love Poet’s embrace and cautiously maintained its distance while questioning her.
Her eyes were too enchanting, and she had a unique floral scent on her. This was definitely not Tata!
The Great Love Poet just stood there smiling, showing no intention of hurting the Cat boss.
"She’s my Life Card, be careful. Even though she’s only first-order, she’s the final boss."
Lanci turned his head and explained from the balcony.
He rose, tidied up the feed bag in his hands, then walked back into the living room at a leisurely pace, put the feed bag on the cupboard and then headed towards the Cardmaking Workshop.
"How could she... be a summon?"
After hearing Lanci’s words, the Cat boss skeptically circled around the cheerful version of Tata, examining her with utter astonishment.
She was clearly a living Demon Race.
Her every frown and smile, her lifelike aura, none of these could be replicated by a summon.
"Great Love Poet, we should also be getting to work."
Lanci grabbed the handle of the door to the Cardmaking Workshop, pushed it open, and waved to the Great Love Poet in the living room.
"Work? What are you guys going to do?"
The Cat boss asked in confusion.
It knew that Lanci’s modified huge storage room was used as a card-making workshop.
"Making cards."
The Great Love Poet said with a playful smile.
"Are you kidding me? Since when do summons make cards, meow!"
The Cat boss felt like the Great Love Poet was treating it like a fool!
A Magic Card making a Magic Card? Absurd.
"Heh, if I were not a first-order, the Magic Cards I make would unquestionably be the best in the world!"
The Great Love Poet placed her hands on her waist and boasted proudly to the Cat boss.
"Keep bragging, you little demon!"
The Cat Boss, having lived so long, had never seen a summoned creature that specialized in Magic Cards.
But the Great Love Poet didn’t argue with the Cat Boss, she was confident and didn’t care if others believed in the truth she knew.
"Little Kitty, see you next time."
Great Love Poet squatted down and flashed an impish smile at it, then bounced off towards Lanci’s Cardmaking Workshop with joy in her steps.
Despite this, the Cat Boss was shocked for a good few seconds by the Great Love Poet’s vitality.
It still found it hard to believe that the Great Love Poet was a summoned creature.
"You... you’re not doing anything to Tata with your summon, are you, meow!"
The Cat Boss suddenly turned to Lanci, who was about to close the door, with a wary question.
It could tell that this grey-haired, red-skirted summon was a succubus! Her voice was enticing, filled with a seductive allure, and coupled with Tata’s beauty, few men could resist her temptation!
"What are you thinking..."
Lanci looked at the Cat Boss in confusion.
If one were to be influenced by the Great Love Poet, they would have long become her slave, controlled at will by her words and demonic tunes.
She is a dangerous Magic Card with the natural master-eating attribute. To wield her power, the prerequisite was to have a heart that would not waver for her.
Once the Great Love Poet entered the Cardmaking Workshop, Lanci also closed the door.
However, he felt that the Cat Boss was suspicious of him, so he left the door ajar for the Cat Boss to watch.
In the living room, the Cat Boss felt that there was something increasingly off about Lanci, it needed to observe more closely!
But it was a bit afraid to step into Lanci’s Cardmaking Workshop as his card making could be too intense.
Therefore, it dared only to sneakily peek by the door of the workshop.
It wanted to see what these two were up to.
...
In the center of the Cardmaking Workshop, there was a sofa-style bench in front of the worktable.
And the Great Love Poet sat next to Lanci.
The concentration on their faces resembled that of two pianists preparing for a duet recital.
The table was cluttered, yet everything was carefully organized. Each piece of paper had been precisely categorized and displayed and seemed to have been frequently read and analyzed, leaving behind faint traces and creases, showing that Lanci had spent a lot of time preparing.
"Great Love Poet, I’ll make a Demon Race skin for you first. If you can disguise yourself as another demon, what type would you want?"
Lanci asked the Great Love Poet.
Today, he planned to make two skins for the Great Love Poet for future needs.
With [Transformation Technique: Demon] and [Transformation Technique: Human] as a base, there were currently two races to choose from for the skins that could be made for the Great Love Poet.
Lanci decided to start with the simpler option.
Although her facial features could not be changed, if possible, he hoped to significantly alter the Great Love Poet’s look. At least, once they moved to the Northern Continent, she wouldn’t be easily recognized by her race, hair color, clothing, and other characteristics.
"Um... Dragon Demon."
The Great Love Poet, pressing her finger against her lips, replied after some thought.
"Why Dragon Demon?"
Lanci was slightly surprised as this was entirely opposite to the Great Love Poet’s original race, and he never saw her as the type who sought power.
As Lanci knew, Talia was not naturally a Succubus but a pure Demon Race. However, for some reason, the demon created from the [Poem of Pity] had its race distorted into a succubus.
"Don’t you think it’s cool?"
The Great Love Poet asked with a grin.
"Is there anything else you’d requested for your hair or eye color?"
Lanci nodded, finally understanding.
"I don’t care about eye color for a demon skin... but let’s go for red hair."
The Great Love Poet said.
"Red?"
Lanci confirmed.
"Yes, red hair is the best looking."
As the Great Love Poet responded, she found some ink on the table and demonstrated the specific shade of red she wanted to Lanci.
This way, Lanci and the Great Love Poet were discussing the plan. Lanci was sketching, and the Great Love Poet was suggesting modifications like a client would.
