This time, Lanci and the Earl’s daughter from Count Milford’s family naturally no longer paid attention to each other, only briefly crossing eyes.
Lanci was confident that the Earl’s daughter had seen him, but clearly, she was very wary of the identity of the Saint of Nirvana, her eyes showing a hint of evasion.
Lanci chuckled and sighed.
He and the two students may meet again at the Protoss Royal Magic Academy in the capital city of Herram, but by then he wouldn’t frighten them anymore.
Although their previous interactions were minimal, the unfortunate plight of the young lady was somehow very familiar to Lanci.
A lot of the times he saw Hyperion, either someone was about to kill Hyperion, or already on their way to do so.
However, on this Count’s daughter, Lanci could not sense the presence of the Great Love Poet, and her appearance was completely different from the disguise Talia had given Hyperion when they set off.
Perhaps he was just overthinking.
But on second thought, if Hyperion wanted to infiltrate the Protoss Empire by disguising herself as an Earl’s daughter, she would probably need a new face. She would need a cardmaker who was proficient in the Demon Clan’s magic text to help her re-create a new [Transformation Technique: Human]. On top of that, the Hyperion Card, which was not Hyperion’s and couldn’t be incorporated into her soul space, would have to be sealed and disguised as something else to pass through the security check at Hezishan Province in the Protoss Empire.
Sikder subtly poked Lanci, interrupting his thoughts.
Lanci turned around, surprised and confused.
"Why have you been staring at that girl for so long?"
Perhaps because Lanci was disguised as the Saint of Nirvana, Sikder was particularly repulsed by Lanci’s new appearance and was not gentle with him.
"Have I?"
"You see, there were two girls on the platform just now. Instead of asking me ’which girl’, you denied it."
"..."
Lanci was at loss for words.
But he smiled afterwards,
"I was reminded of an old friend. But it’s likely just a coincidence."
He answered frankly.
On the other side.
On the clearing platform in front of the track, Hyperion saw the train across the platform start to move.
She had just accidentally noticed a dangerous fellow!
She also realized that the Saint of Nirvana was gone.
However, just now for a moment, she saw a shallow smile at the man’s mouth. His calm demeanor was as if good fortune would always surround him, giving her an inexplicable sense of déjà vu.
"It can’t..... be, right...?"
Hyperion watched the departing train, muttering to herself.
She didn’t dare to believe this overly surreal and absurd situation. No matter how she thought about it, it couldn’t be that Lanci had managed to replace the Saint of Nirvana and helped her at this intersection.
But then,
She was torn between believing logic or intuition…
Hyperion stood still on the station platform as her skirt fluttered in the light wind. The wind swept past her, silently stirring her silk-like, long hair. She gently pressed the strands of hair that the wind tugged at.
The train roared on, disappearing from her sight, along with the rising mist and gradually fading sound, heading towards the end of the distance.
If it was him/her, they would surely meet again in Herram.
The two figures, one inside the train and one on the progressively distant platform, each thought to themselves.
…
…
The next day.
In the heart of the Protoss Empire, the Imperial Capital Herram.
As the afternoon sunlight spilled obliquely onto the rail tracks, the Magic Power Rail Train slowly came to a halt at Herram’s South Station.
Lanci and Sigrid reclaimed their luggage from the cargo area, separated themselves from the crowd in the station hall, and made their way past the sternly guarded checkpoints.
They moved hastily through the bustling crowd of Herram at four in the afternoon.
Stepping out of the station, a gust of air mixed with natural fragrance hit their noses. Compared to the cold north, they could feel the breath of spring more deeply in Herram.
On either side of the streets, vibrant vegetation intertwined with ancient towering architecture, creating a scene that connected the fantasy world and reality.
"There’s always a sense of enchantment about Herram. Even I reckon residing here would be rather pleasant."
Lanci, with a piece of luggage in one hand and an afternoon tea in the other, commented.
No matter how many times he visited the city, he would always find himself attracted by the increasingly bizarre architectural landscapes deep within it; something he couldn’t find in any paintings.
"I think you would do rather well in the field of urban planning, perhaps you could even improve it."
Sigrid engaged him casually.
Halfway through their journey, the two switched trains and changed their looks during the interchange.
Between the towering buildings bathed in golden orange sunlight, flowers blossoming like tides in the Sky Garden, the duo moved beneath them. From a distance, they could hear the songs of plants in the Sky Garden and see the twinkling glow of starlight bodies, adding a leisurely ambiance to the afternoon.
The cat boss remained silent in Lanci’s shadow, listening non-stop to the pair’s chatter.
Previously, Tata had mentioned that she and Lanci barely spoke on their journey from Nanwantina to the Royal Capital Ekrite.
Whenever the cat boss reflected on Lanci’s interaction with Tata, and contrasted it with his current interaction with Sigrid.
Using the control variable method, could it really be Tata’s fault?
"After a break at the school later, I’ll have to head to the Herram Broadcasting Company."
Lanci informed Sigrid.
He had to be at the headquarters of the Herram Broadcasting Company much earlier as his interview was scheduled for tonight.
It was still early, but later on, he would have to leave Sigrid alone at the Protoss Royal Magic Academy.
"That’s fine, you can drop me off at Gloria’s."
Sigrid nodded.
"Is she alright?"
Lanci recalled the name and pondered for a moment.
He remembered seeing this direct subordinate named Gloria during his history class with Associate Professor Xido. She seemed bored at the time and came to check him out. She was also one of Sigrid’s right-hand people staying at the Protoss Royal Magic Academy.
However, assisting the Bishop of Nirvana in loyalty testing along the way, Lanci felt the presence of many rebels, which made him feel human life was not worth it for the Bishop of Nirvana.
Thus, he could not help but worry that loyalty, when faced with real temptations, would be incited by the wicked.
"Rest assured, she was practically raised by me. I know her inside and out."
Sigrid confidently affirmed.
Previously, when pretending to be a student at the Protoss Royal Magic Academy, she stayed most of the time at Gloria’s house, who was one of Sigrid’s most trusted subordinates.
Gloria, being a powerful student, held the tenth seat in third grade, owned a detached residence in the school. After Lanci had thoroughly searched for potential Resurrection Believers in the school, he tacitly agreed to her stay as she was one of them.
However, Lanci did not reply, lost in thought. Sigrid looked at Lanci, ready to explain further about Gloria’s credibility.
Upon seeing this, she noticed the puzzled look in Lanci’s eyes.
As if questioning whether she was younger than thirty or older.
This made Sigrid laugh out of anger, she sped up and walked ahead, ignoring Lanci.
