At night, north of the imperial city of Herram.
The Magic Power Rail Train just came out of the trembling deep gray rock tunnel, passed through the winding mountains, and entered an endless, symmetrically silent ancient tree forest on both sides.
The silhouette of the mountain peak accompanied by the occasional flickering lights, Herram National Forest Park and lake outside the fortress city-state seemed even more profound under the whistling of the train.
The outline of Herram in the distance gradually became clear, the city-state lights were lit one by one, dotted across the sky, seemingly responding to the specks of starlight in the pitch-black curtain.
Inside the carriage, as the clock just passed seven, the pale yellow light danced on the solid wood decor. Passengers sat quietly or conversed, bustle and tranquility intertwined. The train staff busily patrolled between carriages, orderly handling various has requests. After each service, they continued their steps with professional smiles.
Hyperion sat by the window, her quiet face reflecting on the glass as she looked out, a red hair ornament adorned in her now black hair, her long hair falling over her shoulders.
Opposite her, Michela has changed into the Protoss Royal Magic Academy uniform, the tips of her ears revealing a subtle Demon Clan characteristic.
Between the two, the rustling sound of Michela flipping pages occasionally filled the silence before their arrival at their destination, Herram.
Outside, the scenery flashes by, occasionally revealing a clearer glimpse of Herram’s light.
The sound of the book closing broke the silence. Michela put this book into her carry-on bag. Even though she hadn’t finished reading this "The Holy War Romance" that she borrowed from her sister, she decided not to indulge in it, resuming reading when she returned to school.
"Sister, don’t worry, the imperial city of Herram isn’t that dangerous. The Rebirth Church couldn’t possibly be as rampant as the Nirvana Branch in the north. At least we won’t encounter people from the Rebirth Church in school."
Michela seemed to notice the slight worry in Hyperion’s face and thus comforted her.
She thought her sister might still be unsettled due to their previous encounter in Hezishan Province.
Most of the time, Hyperion remained calm. Only when she is with Michela does she let her guard down, revealing her real emotions.
"Michela... I got it, thank you."
Because of Michela’s words, Hyperion looked at Michela, spaced out for a brief moment, then expressed her gratitude.
Although they briefly experienced danger at the checkpoint in Hezishan Province, the journey through the north of the empire to the central part was surprisingly peaceful for the next day or so.
Staying in this peaceful space, in front of the person she was close to, she easily tends to relax.
But Michela didn’t know about her mission and the hellish task she had to face after arriving in Herram the Imperial City.
Whenever she thought of infiltrating that isolated prison in this unfamiliar city, or even delving into the pitch-black depths that could seal the Eighth-order great demon race, she would get afraid.
But nobody could hear her, she had to keep this secret mission in her heart.
"What do you think? Do you still like this book?"
Hyperion noticed Michela starting to get ready for the train’s arrival, so she asked with a smile.
The book that Michela just put away was borrowed by the Bingxue Witch for Hyperion to pass the time on the journey, and then Hyperion lent it to Michela to read.
This book was originally circulated in the Tuos Empire. It wouldn’t raise suspicion in Tuos territory, and most importantly, the Bingxue Witch had sealed the [Great Love Poet] into a bookmark that could be hidden in the book for the security check.
"It’s quite interesting. I don’t want to read anything else now, and I just want to see the hysteria of the loser."
Michela crossed her arms with a serious face and critiqued.
Although this novel is entirely fictional and set against the historical background of the Holy War era, there are three distinctive female protagonists in the book. One appears to have the aura of a queen, the other a loser with an aura of a queen, and another one a loser with the aura of a loser.
"Are you talking about the girl who is eating every time she makes her appearance?"
Hyperion asked in confusion, this book which was published by the Imperial Royal Magic Academy Publishing House at the beginning of this year only had the first part, and it’s still not clear who will eventually be the winner.
"Exactly her."
Michela nodded.
"I think she’s very cute."
Hyperion thought that if she were a boy, she would definitely have a crush on that protagonist.
"In my opinion, the most adorable one is the younger female lead. If life is a journey, she’s felt the despair, loneliness, yet managed to dispel these emotions, be graceful, keep promises, and possess the beauty worthy of treasuring."
Michela, full of girlish feelings, said to Hyperion.
Once they started discussing the book, the brief waiting time seemed to speed up, even the minute hand of the clock unknowingly turned twice.
With a slight tremor, the train started to slow down, stars, and lights outside the carriage window gradually reduced their pace. The peaceful night colors were gradually replaced by the lights of the approaching Herram Station.
The low hum between the wheels and the tracks that lasted all night gradually weakened, announcing the end of the journey had come.
Michela and Hyperion both lifted their heads from the world of the book. Their conversation was cut off. Their gaze looked out of the carriage window, observing the outside world.
The bustling people on the approaching platform became increasingly clear, the noise of passengers moving outside the compartment was intermittent. 𝘯𝑜𝘷𝘱𝘶𝘣.𝘤𝘰𝑚
"Sister, let’s go to the commercial district to buy some things before going back to school."
Michela looked outside the window and then at Hyperion, she always felt that her sister couldn’t relax completely after leaving home.
"If we don’t take advantage of the weekend to go outside, we won’t be able to do it again until the following week."
If she could, Michela didn’t want to stay in the Protoss Royal Magic Academy even for a minute.
The luggage they checked at the train station would be delivered directly to their residence by the Protoss Royal Academy.
As noble students, Count Milford made arrangements for them to stay in a single-family house in the residential area on the north side of the academy.
After alighting, they almost had no carry-on luggage. If they leave the station and head south, it would take more than ten minutes to reach the Protoss Royal Magic Academy. If they head north, they would reach a very bustling commercial district in the southern part of the Herram city-state. Not only were there numerous famous shops in Herram, but there’s also plenty of exciting scenes to see.
