Dark clouds covered the window from the outside, with a steady drizzle coming down.
For a moment, it seemed as if the principal’s office in Hong Meng De Building had been plunged into a state of white noise, with nothing but the sound of rain and Antanas’ panicked calls piercing the silence.
Pranay held his head in his hands, feeling a strange tingling sensation.
He hadn’t expected that within less than a minute of meeting the new king, he’d already found himself in the middle of a scene.
Glancing at his sister’s unconscious form, Pranay could only feel grateful that the new king’s voice hadn’t been as mesmerizing as it had been in the prison.
Fortunately, Antanas had once practised medicine in the Demon World and was skilled in emergency rescue missions. From Antanas’ expression, he could tell that Sinola’s condition had been stabilized, if only just barely.
As an eighth-order great demon race member strengthened in close combat, Sinola’s physique was far more resilient than a human’s, and her injuries had been able to heal naturally.
"Let Sinola rest on the couch for a while."
Lanci, seeing Antanas’ relieved expression, pointed to the black leather couch in the office reception area and suggested.
"Oh, oh, okay."
Antanas expertly moved Sinola onto the couch.
After settling Sinola down, she sat down next to the couch herself, continuing to place her softly glowing, blue palm on Sinola’s forehead, trying to wake her up quickly.
"Is Sinola alright?"
Standing behind his desk, Lanci asked as he looked at Antanas.
"She’s not in any serious danger, but you must never again use your Demon Sound to amplify her emotions when Sinola sees you. She might actually die from that."
Antanas looked to Lanci, spoaking with mixed feelings.
Sinola had already had an extreme fondness for the new king in his female form. She could not imagine the level of Sinola’s faith in the real king, who was a man of unique charm.
"I’m sorry, I understand."
Lanci stopped speaking and returned to his office chair.
He patiently waits for Antanas to focus on treating Sinola and signals Pranay to sit down.
After all, there’s no urgency right now. The Duke’s appointment for negotiation is not till five o’clock in the afternoon.
And so, more than ten minutes passed.
Sinola, who had fallen into a long sleep on the couch, fluttered her eyelashes but did not open her eyes. She only gradually sat up.
She sensed that Antanas was sitting right next to her.
"Did I, fall into the [Fallen Wonderland]?"
Sinola felt slightly confused as she asked Antanas, sounding as if she had just woken from a dream.
"Sinola, don’t open your eyes. This is real."
Antanas quickly raised her hand to block Sinola’s eyes and slowly spoke, fearing that Sinola might faint again.
To Sinola, the new king was almost like a human trial from the Great Demon Clan.
"..."
Recalling the image of the new king in her mind, Sinola’s brain, which was not quite clear yet, began to buzz again, and her weak body swayed, almost fainting once more.
However, as if she had thought of something, she concentrated and noticed the figure quietly waiting at the end of the office.
She didn’t know for how long she had been sleeping on the couch in the office, and the king was still patiently waiting behind the desk for Antanas to wake her up.
Sinola’s face instantly turned bright red, and feelings of embarrassment and regret surged like a tidal wave.
"I, I want to die to apologize!"
She closed her eyes tightly, wishing she could crawl into a hole in the ground.
Having the king witness her in such a disgraceful state, Sinola just wanted to die!
"Sinola, it is my oversight, I am truly sorry."
Upon hearing this, surprise flashed across Lanci’s eyes. He quickly signaled to Antanas to keep an eye on Sinola while he walked around the desk towards the resting area.
"Y-You, y-y-you, don’t come any closer. No, I mean, it’s not your fault. You don’t need to apologize to me. It’s me who was impolite!"
Sinola moved away as hastily as a startled rabbit, every inch of her skin flushed with embarrassment and disgrace.
Her eyes quickly filled with mist and began shedding tears even with her eyes closed.
"As the ancients said, ’Do not look, hear or speak of what is unbecoming.’ There are things that, in my opinion, are unseemly. I will not speak of them, hear them, or mention them. So Sinola, please rest assured. In my eyes, you did not behave improperly. If we are overly restrained, it will be difficult for us to get along well."
Even if the New King’s voice had changed and no longer held the magic power that moved hearts, it always remained warm and understanding.
"Thank you, New King."
Sinola’s cheeks were still glowing red, but the shame and guilt in her heart began to melt away.
She lifted her head, still with eyes closed, but her expression revealing a newfound resolve and gratitude.
The New King’s male voice, unlike his female voice, had a calming effect, providing a sense of detachment.
Pranay nodded on the side, pondering over every word the New King said.
However, Antanas didn’t seem to absorb any of it.
"King, what’s your relationship with Talia?"
The moment the atmosphere began to settle, Antanas immediately posed the question to the New King.
She had wanted to ask this question for a while now, ever since she had seen the New King’s true form!
Is the New King Talia’s husband, son, or…?
Antanas seemed to have no sense of personal space, always appearing close and friendly with everyone. "Restraint" was not in her vocabulary.
Hearing this, Sinola pricked her ears up. If their previous assumptions were wrong, was there a chance that Talia was still single?
"She is my teacher."
Lanci responded, oblivious of what Antanas was currently entertaining in her mind.
"So, you two are not blood-related?"
Antanas became even more enthusiastic, speaking much faster.
"No."
Lanci shook his head.
Even through observation, he thought such details should be evident. Their Welfort family, though not of noble lineage, held status equivalent to wealthy businessmen, and was not part of the Nite Clan.
"..."
Antanas immediately set her brain into overdrive.
If the New King were male, then a union between the Second Princess and the New King would be possible.
But she felt that the New King and the Bishop shared an even closer relationship...
If it was plausible for Talia and the New King to be involved... Wow!
In fact, any two of the three women—should they simultaneously accompany the New King—would cause quite the ruckus. 𝖓𝔬𝔳𝔭𝔲𝔟.𝖈𝖔𝔪
Given the Second Princess’s controlling nature, she would not tolerate the Bishop bossing the New King around.
And as for Talia, she was rather stubborn, uncompromising. If she had a falling out with the Bishop, her aggression and revengeful spirit would skyrocket.
If one day, Hyperion and Talia squabbled over the New King, and hypothetically, if Isatia were to witness her sister and daughter fighting for a man, Antanas could only shudder at Isatia’s potential expression and emotions!
This...
This was exactly the unpredictable stage she longed to witness!
"The three of you: I have arranged your official headquarters in this Hong Meng De Building. From here on, you are my right-hand men. Whether we are staying in the Northern Continent or returning to the South Continent, I will always have you by my side."
Lanci sat down on the couch and spoke to the three Great Demon Clan members in the lounge.
"Yes."
"Alright."
"Thank you, sir."
All three Great Demon Clan members responded immediately.
Pranay glanced at Antanas. For some reason, he sensed Antanas’s loyalty towards the New King inexplicably heighten, to the point that determination shone in her eyes as if she were ready to follow the New King to the grave. Yet, there was something odd; she appeared to yearn for the New King’s early demise.
