If I run into him again, do whatever I can to help him out.
Lanci always felt that he couldn’t help but reach out to such people.
...
Time passed, and it was deep into the night.
Moonlight spilled onto a dim street at the border between District 6 of Parriet and District 7 of the Demon World, where a lonely streetlight barely lit up the narrow alleyway.
This place was far from the hustle and bustle of daytime, with only occasional distant clamour and shadows under the streetlight, making it seem more isolated and mysterious.
The buildings along the street were old, their walls overgrown with vines, and most windows tightly shut, as if the residents had long grown accustomed to the silence and shadows of the night.
Against this dark backdrop, a lone figure with red hair walked through the alleyway.
His footsteps echoed unusually clear in the quiet night.
He stopped suddenly, pulling out the last of his change from his pocket, silent.
It wasn’t even enough for a meal tomorrow.
"Hey, brother, got any good stuff on you?"
Suddenly, two burly youths of the Demon Race stepped out from the shadows, having noticed each other, they blocked his way.
These two mixed-blood demons wore leather jackets, looking part human, part Demon Race, with cold gleaming weapons in hand and smirks on their faces.
"This is a lawless zone, caught in between. You dare come here with your tender skin, not afraid we might gobble you up?"
The other half-demon chuckled, his voice hoarse and full of malice.
However, they failed to realize the strength of the red-haired youth in front of them.
The rage and terror inside the red-haired youth were like a volcano on the verge of eruption, yet they were oblivious to it.
The pale moonlight, filtered through spotty clouds, mottled the worn street with its silvery glow, intermingling with the light from the street lamps, illuminating half of his face under the hood.
A chill flashed in the red-haired youth’s eyes, and the aura he emitted became increasingly dangerous.
"I’ve been plagued with bad luck lately, and I’m looking for something to vent on..."
He spoke softly.
"So you’re offering yourself up? What a slut!"
The half-demon youth became even more excited upon hearing this.
"You mentioned this is a lawless zone, right?"
"Of course, no human or demon will care what we do to you here, because this place doesn’t belong to either jurisdiction."
"Then, could you please be quiet while I kill you?"
The red-haired youth lifted his head, as if he had finally given them their answer.
"You bastard, are you trying to mock us?"
At this, the leading half-demon youth hesitated no longer, gripping his weapon and lunging forward.
"Hmph."
In the moonlight, the youth’s red hair seemed to be dyed crimson with blood, even more vivid.
His hands slowly drew out of his pockets.
The next second, accompanied by a loud bang in the alley,
The youth pressed the other’s head against the wall with one hand, and with the sound of a skull shattering, blood splashed onto his face.
A fierce smile had already appeared on his lips.
Her cascading red hair, revealed by the fallen hood, turned her into a stunning figure with fiery red hair.
Though she looked somewhat sickly pale, the violent magic power emanating from her quickly incinerated the half-demon youth’s body, leaving nothing behind.
"Don’t, don’t kill me! If you kill me, the Diamond Gang will hunt you down in the Demon World of Poseen, relentless until death!"
The other demon, his face splattered with gore, was petrified, sitting down on the ground, moving backwards.
Yet she seemed deaf to his pleas, simply stepping forward, using him as an outlet for her fury, pounding him into pieces with her fists.
If she didn’t kill such idiots, she really wouldn’t be able to close her eyes today.
Soon, another scream petered out before it could even fully emerge.
Only the red-haired figure walked out of the alley, dragging five lines of blood across the wall with her palm.
"Rocky McCarthy... Rocky McCarthy... Rocky McCarthy..."
She kept muttering the name as if it were someone she couldn’t afford to forget.
Now, her list of enemies ranked Loren as number one, Loren’s student as number two, and this Rocky McCarthy as number three.
That she, Bishop of Destruction Ivanos, had fallen to this point, was all thanks to the first two.
After so much trouble to masquerade as Enon and earn some legal currency to buy medicine to heal her wounds in the Poseen Kingdom and lie low to recover her strength, she had suddenly come across a guy who was clearly beyond sixth-order and caused her to lose all her money.
This Rocky McCarthy was like the last straw breaking her spirit.
Until she killed this man...
She would never find peace within her heart!
