Parriet South Bank District 2.
Duke’s Mansion of Tiffany.
Sitting in the reception hall, Duke Tiffany looked out at the dark, stormy weather and furrowed her brows.
If Nigel lost, she had no expectations of surviving today.
But she had never imagined that what was originally just a dispute between the ambitious Perlman and their Poseen Kingdom would escalate into a chaotic battle involving the Great Priest Loren, and even Asksan had emerged.
According to high-level intelligence stolen by the Kingdom Joint Council from the Cerryti Empire and confirmed by the Rebirth Church’s Cardinal Bishops, Bishop Asksan of Annihilation had died six months earlier.
Yet now, she saw on the blurry screen of the Poseen Demon World channel, that a few kilometers away on the battlefield, Asksan, who seemed to have returned from the soul, had defeated Perlman.
The absolute strong, the terrifying Sealing Skill, and the Obsidian-like Divine Light of the God Era from the [Original Stone Tablet- Sealed], all undoubtedly proved that the distant gray figure was indeed Asksan himself, not an illusion.
Even his voice in the rain was captured by a channel earlier—he said "I have returned."
"Could he really have returned from hell?"
Duke Tiffany pinched her brow, only able to muster such a doubt at the moment.
She believed she wasn’t the only one with doubts; the source of the intelligence, the Cerryti Empire, was probably the power least willing to believe in Asksan’s resurrection.
...
Poseen Demon World District 10.
In the northernmost part of the Poseen Demon World on this rainy night, everything finally settled.
As the last deafening roar dissipated, the ambitious Demon Race member Perlman also collapsed listlessly on the cold ground.
"Why... why..."
His body was almost split in two, blood gushing out from the wound like a fountain, and his pale face was filled with resentment.
The torrential rain continued unabated, the raindrops hitting the shattered rubble like bullets, making thudding noises.
Rain mixed with blood, flowing recklessly among the ruins.
The skyscraper that once towered into the clouds now mostly stood as a shattered skeleton, riddled with cracks and jagged hollows, while the shaking glass shards emitted mournful wails amidst the lightning and thunder.
"Perlman, what can I say?"
Lanci looked at the struggling Perlman.
Even as Talia was dealing the finishing blow, it still took some effort to kill Perlman.
"Your Demon Race’s vitality is indeed strong. Give him some dignity, after all, he was once a hero of Poseen Kingdom, Nigel’s foster father," Lanci said to Talia.
"You’re the Demon Race, your whole family is the Demon Race. I am a law-abiding citizen of Ichrite, 25 years old, and still a Platinum Level Card Maker," Talia responded in Lanci’s mind.
"..."
Lanci didn’t know when it started, but Talia no longer liked hearing others call her a member of the Demon Race, she had been completely assimilated by Hyperion on this point.
He felt that if other members of the Demon Race heard the thoughts of the current Demon King, they might have to accept the fact that "the Demon Race is indeed on the decline."
"You, where the hell did you get the genuine [Original Stone Tablet- Sealed] from?!"
Talia couldn’t believe the special effect Lanci had was real until now.
She was entirely convinced that Lanci’s Sealing Stone Tablet Divine Light was just a fake and forged artifact like the Wind Stone Tablet Divine Light; it was only when its power was used that she realized something was wrong.
How could this guy just go to the Northern Continent and get the [Original Stone Tablet- Sealed]!
"Lausang gave it to me," Lanci said matter-of-factly.
"Lausang is Asksan, right? How did you beat him? And all these sealing cards, did you steal them from him?!"
Although Talia was still unclear about the sequence of events, she roughly understood where Lanci had gotten the legacy from.
Round it off, and Lanci having the stone tablet meant she had one too, but she felt more shock than joy.
"What do you mean ’he gave it to me’? It was voluntary," Lanci affirmed.
Officially certified by the Protoss Empire.
"Voluntary my ass!"
She didn’t believe a word of Lanci’s bullshit.
Just as Talia’s abyssal black flame was cast on Perlman, a chilling transformation quietly occurred on him.
The fragment of [Parlony’s Grudge Record] on Perlman’s chest suddenly burst into a strange flame.
At first, the flame was hardly noticeable, like a ghostly whisper.
But gradually it grew brighter and more wild, eventually turning into a deep blue flame of cursed power, dancing willfully in the night rain.
"!"
Talia immediately protected Lanci, dragging him behind her.
Its color was eerie and evil, the deep blue form ferocious and ever-changing, at times like a torn face, at times like twisted limbs, as if it wanted to devour everything.
Talia kept her gaze tightly on Perlman’s every move, afraid to miss any sign of danger.
In theory, her blows had been effective, and Perlman should have no trump left.
But Perlman’s body began to convulse violently, standing up like a marionette on strings.
"Aaaaah..."
Perlman’s wails echoed among the ruins, as if fighting with an unseen demon inside his body, or bearing unimaginable pain.
In an instant, Perlman’s body jerked upright, his movements stiff, utterly devoid of the signs of life.
When he raised his head again, his face was completely unrecognizable.
"Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Beelzebub, a member of the Demon Race from the north."
