"Huff, huff..." 𝑛𝘰𝑣𝘱𝑢𝑏.𝘤𝑜𝘮
Lanci burst out laughing for a moment.
It seemed that it was mostly because of the content of Cat Boss’s analogy.
Not to mention, he rather missed that Tata who used to pull a knife on him at the slightest disagreement—now seeing her just quietly cooking, Lanci felt like he was missing out on the adrenaline rush.
One man and one cat were idling away the time in this rare moment.
Lanci was lost in his thoughts, while the little black cat on his shoulder curled up quietly.
Suddenly, he heard a familiar voice behind him.
"Rocky, you’re here."
Lanci turned around to see the young Earl Kyle standing on the corridor outside the terrace, smiling at him.
"Lord Kyle, do you need something?"
Lanci asked with a bit of apology.
He felt as though because of his own laziness, Kyle had something to find him for, and had looked all around the mansion before finding him.
Kyle waved his hand, walked up to Lanci, and leaned on the railing just like him.
"It’s nothing, I just wanted to tell you to rest early."
Kyle said to him.
"I haven’t been fired yet..."
Lanci looked bewilderedly at Kyle.
"Rocky, although we might need your help these few days, today is actually a statutory holiday, so you don’t need to come to work."
Kyle chuckled lightly and patted Rocky’s shoulder.
"... "
Possibly because Lanci had slept for almost two days, he was a bit silly and hadn’t even realized that today was actually the Poseen Kingdom’s Fireworks Ascension Festival, which was a holiday from work.
Reflecting back, Nigel did indeed tell him at Monday’s midnight dinner that the Fireworks Ascension Festival would be in two days.
"Oh, oh..."
Lanci nodded.
He had never slept so long before, just remembered today was Wednesday, and had nearly overlooked that fact.
"You’ve been working hard recently, take a few more days to rest; this old house is easy to manage."
Kyle nodded understandingly.
"Thank you for your care. Christina cried once just now, and after that, her whole spirit was much improved, returning to her usual carefree demeanor."
He had just gone upstairs to check on his sister, originally very worried about her depressive state these past days; as expected, a chat with Rocky made it better.
"Then I’ll take my leave now."
Lanci picked up the little black cat from his shoulder and, after saying goodbye to Kyle, walked toward the butler’s rest room on the first floor.
A few minutes later,
he changed into a casual outfit and left the Baptiste family’s old house.
The dazzling morning sunlight of autumn at nine thirty bathed him, bringing a hint of warmth.
He strolled on the streets of Pariu South Bank, quickly leaving the maple woods behind, and the streets once again flanked by plane trees.
"I didn’t expect to have so much free time today."
Lanci took a deep breath, letting the fresh air fill his lungs, and murmured.
In this environment, the irritability and fatigue in his mind gradually dissipated, replaced by a rare sense of calm and relaxation.
There weren’t many pedestrians around, and the street was filled with a reviving peace and quiet chatting sounds.
"Lanci Meow, there’s a communication meow."
Suddenly, Cat Boss jumped onto Lanci’s head, hanging upside down, and handed him a purple Magic Card.
"Who could be looking for me at this time..."
Lanci puzzledly took the Communication Magic Card.
During this time, all the Tool Magic Cards in his possession turned into those that reduce mana consumption, enhance spiritual attributes, and accelerate mana recovery, and these cards had been kept with Cat Boss.
It felt like Cat Boss had turned into a cat-shaped phone.
...
Floral City Pariel North Shore.
A grand, towering iron tower stood majestically at the end of the vista on the Selina River.
Below the iron tower, on the square, a lady dressed particularly elegantly stood still, her gray flowing long hair cascading down like a waterfall, a white noble long dress enveloping her noble and graceful figure, under the morning sun, it gleamed with a gentle, soft luster.
Approaching footsteps disturbed the pensive lady.
She turned around and looked to her side.
Those bright golden eyes fell on Lanci, who wasn’t far away.
Lanci, after receiving Talia’s communication, had arrived at the appointed place at North Shore District 1 to meet her.
He looked a bit confused at Talia, not understanding why she suddenly asked him to come.
Moreover, Talia seemed to have redressed herself this moment.
"Lanci, let’s date!"
Talia had changed into a new outfit and pointed at him as if challenging him to a duel.
The wind blew, and with the drifting leaves, it tousled Lanci’s hair, his lips parting in a look of surprise.
"Me, with you?"
Lanci pointed uncertainly at himself and Talia.
"Yes."
Talia nodded seriously.
Today, to take revenge on Lanci for being detestable this past month, she decided to masquerade as a perfectly gentle woman, and thoroughly disgust Lanci!
