South Crayney’s autumn nights arrive early.

The briefly visiting sun soon departs quietly.

The sky, as if brushed with a layer of light ink, features Star Sand and a white moon against the night.

After meeting with Headmaster Violet, Lanci left her office and, guided by Nara’s Secretary, headed to his residence at Saint Kray Monastery.

"Was your discussion with Professor Landry and the headmaster smooth?"

Nara’s Secretary asked as her car carried Lanci away from the Main Hall area.

"No problems."

Lanci responded, looking out at the monastery’s scenery through the window.

"I originally thought you might be nervous meeting someone of the Imperial Army God’s caliber, considering that realm is almost divine. Some professors might prefer dealing with me instead of going directly to the headmaster."

Nara continued.

Many people instinctively fear Headmaster Violet.

"Professor, have you encountered Eight-order Strongmen in the north before?"

In her view, the Northwestern Border where Landry was located would hardly have local Extraordinary Powerful Ones,

let alone a War God, a creature at the pinnacle of the Eighth-order.

For someone like Landry, reaching Sixth-order was almost the peak in the human domain.

To advance further, one would have to move from the remote borders to the Imperial Capital, or, in other words, most border residents would never encounter an Eighth-order being in their lifetimes.

"Yes, he was a man I’ll never forget."

A hint of nostalgia colored Lanci’s eyes.

"It seems you’ve had quite some adventures."

Spurred by his words, Nara’s Secretary grew more interested; the professor indeed had many stories,

"What was this man like?"

Behind the persistent mystique surrounding Professor Landry, if one were to say his past was merely ordinary, it would seem unreasonable, but his candid admission fueled Nara’s curiosity even more.

"He always liked to wear a gray overcoat, a true Powerhouse, which brought about much loneliness, but fortunately, I eventually taught him love."

Lanci slightly clenched his fist, looking down at his hand contentedly.

"You taught him what he can do with love, he must hate you to death!"

Talia, long silent in Lanci’s heart, finally couldn’t restrain herself.

Initially, she thought Lanci was referring to Loren and was about to console him.

Turns out, he meant Lausang.

"Being hated to that extent is hardly different from love, is it?"

Lanci responded internally to Talia.

"..."

Talia was speechless.

Although she didn’t quite understand love, she felt Lanci’s notion of love was somewhat twisted.

The vehicle stopped in front of a quaint mansion.

Without dwelling on it further, she looked outside through Lanci’s eyes.

Talia could hardly believe that Saint Kray Monastery had assigned a two-story villa to Landry.

Given that the lodging at Ichrite Academy was hotel-level, directly providing a villa was extraordinary.

Clearly, Saint Kray Monastery was financially robust, showing great respect and treatment toward the professor.

But upon reflection, Talia found it quite acceptable.

Originally, as a publisher, Lovia was not very wealthy, and after arriving at the capital, he surely couldn’t rent a residence beyond his financial capability without raising suspicions, possibly leading to a more modest life.

But now, stepping into Landry’s shoes after his appointment, having great wealth was no problem at all, and staying here with Lanci was quite comfortable.

"Professor Landry, we have arrived, this will be your residence from now on."

Nara’s Secretary had swiftly descended from the car, opening the door for Lanci in advance, and handed him the keys.

"Thank you, Miss Nela."

Lanci took them, picked up his luggage, and stepped down from the car.

In sight was a classical two-story building; its cream-colored walls under the monastery lights emitted a soft glow, its azure blue roof, and slightly dark brown window frames appeared to have decades of architectural history.

"Do you need any other help?" n𝚘𝚟𝚙u𝚋.co𝚖

Nara asked him.

"Could the school send some fresh groceries? About a week’s worth, erm, make it two."

Lanci pondered, estimating that the groceries would just suffice for two weeks’ meals for himself, Talia, and Cat Boss.

"Do you usually cook at home, professor? You can use the monastery’s Magical Guidance System to buy what you need inside your villa, general living supplies, and food items. Orders are typically delivered within minutes, but since it’s already late today, and you must be hungry, I’ll arrange it for you this time, and the staff will deliver it shortly."

Nara’s Secretary took out a portable Magic Device, contacted the staff department, and told Lanci,

"If you have any questions later, feel free to use the Communication Magic Device to contact me. Moreover, Professor Landry will officially assume his duties the day after tomorrow; please take these two days to rest well and familiarize yourself with the new environment of the monastery."

Having said that, Nara’s Secretary bowed and returned to the car.

"It seems the academy has gone through great lengths; I must work diligently in return."

Lanci watched as Nara’s Secretary’s car disappeared into the night.

Even at parting, she remained courteous, a paragon of a lady, but accordingly, it was easy to get acquainted with her, without feeling any distance.

"Why is it that every time you arrive at a new place, you immediately find a bunch of work?"

Talia said, puzzled, speaking to him telepathically.

"Maybe it’s because everyone needs me."
