Professor Landry did as he had said.
His first class after taking over didn’t have much substantial teaching content; it was more about introducing the changes to this course in the future.
"This class will not last a full two hours, and we’ll probably finish an hour early today."
Lanci turned his head to glance at the window, where the formulas and symbols he had written on the glass roughly allowed him to tell the time,
"I will be in the Siperte Building, on the 8th floor, office 812 of the Great Monastery, every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from two to five in the afternoon. I will be available for any discussions with school personnel. If you wish to consult with me, please make an appointment in advance."
He stood with his back to the blackboard in the center of the podium.
Dozens of pairs of eyes were fixed on him intently.
Clearly, his previous quick show of skill combined with his provocative speech had captured the hearts of many students.
However, some students seemed to remain unaffected. At the place where Talia borrowed Lanci’s sight, students either sat lazily or listened attentively, all of exceptional talent.
Their vibrant faces were filled with pride, as if they held the winning tickets, for each of them was among the elite, the "darlings of the heavens" in the Magical Engineering Circle of the South Continent.
Whether or not Lanci’s words convinced them, they were at least filled with curiosity about this professor and desired to explore further.
And perhaps even a competitive spirit.
That meant Lanci had succeeded.
Talia was a bit confused.
She remembered that Lanci didn’t seem to have this ability before at Ichrite Academy.
Since this young man returned from the Northern Continent, he seemed to have developed more and more strange skills, almost as if someone had tuned him up, no longer the disciple she knew so well.
Perhaps it was an illusion. Lanci never had much luck with women; it was impossible for him to change into someone else’s shape.
Talia thought about it and let it go.
As with teaching Miss Zhu, dealing with boys, and eating first was a sure win.
"Ladies and gentlemen, you are very fortunate to come to Saint Kray Temple to study Magical Engineering with the best. Looking at you is like looking at myself in the past."
Lanci began slowly, his voice echoing in the auditorium-style spacious classroom,
"For scholars, the greatest temptation is not fame or fortune but complacency. Magical Engineering is an unfathomably complex field. Any unsolved problem can occupy you for a lifetime. However, merely studying the achievements of predecessors won’t make you a master. To reach a level worthy of being passed down through the ages, you must have the courage and foresight to surpass those who came before you."
He paused, his gaze sweeping across the faces of the Monastery’s Imperial students.
As he thought, today’s class session was just about inspiring the students a bit more before concluding.
The principles written in Demon Magic Text on the wall were enough to keep these students busy studying for a long time. Each student’s area of expertise and speed of understanding were different; they needed time to digest and absorb.
And for those proud students who weren’t so easy to convince immediately, there was no rush to have them believe anything, because Lanci knew he had a lot of work coming up in the Cerryti Empire. Work would continuously find him, and teaching was just one aspect.
Lanci let the students ponder his earlier words and began to gather the books on the podium.
"Professor Landry."
A student from the noble side raised a hand.
"Please speak."
Lanci gestured politely with his hand, palm up, indicating the student could ask a question.
"Thank you."
The blue-eyed, purple-haired, epicanthic-eyed noble girl smiled with a boyish charm,
"First, I may offend you, but my true feeling is that the great promises you’ve made could fill some students with expectations, because as long as you survive this one-month assessment period, whether or not the project is successful by the end of the term, you will be officially employed by Saint Kray Temple, and no one can guarantee our rights as students."
She said to the professor on the podium.
Other students in the classroom began to look at her.
Even though most of the students present were upperclassmen, most had heard of Ursula, the Griffin Heiress of the Marquis Roland’s house.
She had never been quiet at school. Whether it was the students who sought trouble with her or the teachers she set her sights on, they all found her to be incredibly troublesome.
"This long-term teaching plan can be arranged by you to show us your strength gradually, but it can also become a clever scam to cover up your flashy but insubstantial teaching level. If you really have such talent, why hasn’t the Imperial Army noticed you yet?"
Griffin Heiress Ursula spread her hands, raising her most fundamental question,
"In my view, every word you say is persuasive, but your performance resembles that of a politician more than a Magic Engineer - a politician skilled in seducing and inciting people, attempting to drive us."
After her words fell, the students once again showed hesitant expressions.
They were not surprised by Ursula’s remarks, as her directness was her style, and she was not afraid of offending any professor in the Saint Kray Monastery.
The problem was that her skepticism was not without reason.
The principle written on the glass was something no student present could easily prove its practical value.
Nor whether it could truly be converted into a successful Magical Engineering creation.
Professor Landry had observed during his attacks on the Magic Cards that they could split into several smaller fragmented Magic Power bodies and release a large amount of energy. Although Professor Landry had not yet provided a theoretical explanation for this discovery, the experiment and measurements were not difficult because the creation of Magic Devices and Magic Cards often failed, accompanied by energy bursts of varying sizes.
